The House of Peace and Love is a 5000 sq ft private estate situated at the base of the Sandia Mts in the Beverly Hills of Albuquerque. This is the perfect place to relax, renew, rejuvenate and create romance and memories. The house has three uniquely decorated private rooms with baths. It is a great temporary housing sitation if you are tired of staying in hotels with kitchenettes and like to cook and relax . Many film support crews as well as the cast have had long term stays. Traveling Dr.s, nurses, athlethes in training, and business executives have enjoyed their stay long term stays here. We can sleep eight people in our private rooms with private baths, and up to eighteen for folks who know each other and are open to sharing bathrooms . Our temporary guests have come together to celebrate the big O Birthdays (40,50, 60, 70 80.) Had family reunions, gatherings for grieving the loss of a loved one, and host the family and friends of brides and grooms all under the same roof. We can comfortable sleep up to 18-20 people. There are two kitchens fully stocked with glass wear and cloth napkins, all rooms have small individual refrigerators and microwaves. Bedding and towels are provided. Guests have four lovely gardens one with a pergula , water treatments, hammocks, hot tub, fountains, and mediation areas. There is outdoor dining and seating dinning for 20 with an outdoor BBQ and kitchen. One of the main rooms has a standard pool table. In the spring roses and sunflowers bloom with grape arbors and wild flowers. We are close to Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Wal-Mart and Smiths for shopping. There is laundry, off street parking, and three additional refrigerators to use.
Your host is nationally acclaimed author Dr. Suzanne Lopez. There are more photos avilable upon request. This interesting home is filled with lots of art, light, plants, water treatments and love. It is an adult space. However we have children’s toys, videos and books. There is also a small dander-free dog that resides on the premises, it does not have free roam of the house and can be removed upon request.                     I have stayed at this lodging several times and enjoy it each time. Whenever I come to ABQ I try to stay with Suzanne, Angelica (her daughter) and Charlie (the dog). I can come and go, use the kitchen, living areas, beautiful patios and back yard. Suzanne welcomes her guests and friends with open arms.

                    After arriving in this beautiful home we were pleased to see that everything was as it had been described.It was clean and well maintained and located in an excellent area of Albuquerque! This house is a museum in and of itself. The artwork and furnishings are from throughout the world. Even tho there were additional rooms occupied, there was plenty of space for all. The grounds have many unique seating areas from hammocks, gazebos, a 2nd story deck with a spectacular view.The fountains and lighting create a tranquil setting. We enjoyed the company of the owner and her daughter who both were extremely accommodating and full of information on surrounding areas. We enjoyed our 11 day stay! We had access to washer/dryer and to a full kitchen. If we ever have a chance to return to this lovely area we hope that they will have availabily for us. We highly recommend this lovely home to anyone.

                    generally our guests are very happy and the property is run without a glitch , however during the stay of the multiple family guests who were arriving and leaving through their ten day stay, one of my six brothers died unexpectedly This required me to leave the property to go to the burial. . These guests had sent numerous emails changing the dates, numbers and rooms necessary . They were checking in and out over a period of ten days for a family reunion . It changed several times. Each group had with different needs . I also,had a new assistant helping so they are correct there was some confusion on our part due to their conflicting emails and the death that required my departure. No one was left without the agreeded upon accomodations. However, this family chose to put six people in the large great room to save money rather than putting them in private rooms for a period of six days. This great room is off the main kitchen . The other private rooms which they choose to rent two of are on the other side of the house where there can be no noise disturbance. The person who rented the space for the family was informed that noise from their other family members might be a problem. There was no one else in the house the whole time of their stay . The noise that this guest complains of was generated by other family members in their party. No one else was here but other members of their party. Also, no one in their party checked out early . They all left on the date that they had paid up to. Whenever you have from ten to fifteen different members of family coming from all over arriving and leaving at different times some conflict or chaos between them is natural to occur. We tried to assist all of them so they were all comfortable including a young mother with a small infant we needed to up at all hours of the night to comfort her child. If this guest had addressed their concerns directly and we are at fault we always offer our guests additional nights or a gift certificate to come back at a later date.

                    Wonderful, exotic, charming, tranquil, relaxing and beautiful . . . . . Recently, when faced with extended stay requirements for company business, I was so pleased to discover that Dr. Lopez opens her home and welcomes one and all. A month in any hotel is no picnic and I could not believe the beautiful, peaceful surroundings I had the good fortune to find at her home. Very exotic with furnishings from around the world, the house is spacious and comfortable, the living areas are inviting and the well equiped kithchen makes you feel immediately at home. Outside, the gardens are beautifully kept with lighted trees, tinkling chimes, fountains and hammocks, lounges and seating areas surrounding the house. More than once, I found myself sleeping in the day bed under a gazebo after relaxing in the hot tub. The outdoor kitchen is amazing and I was able to comfortably entertain business associates for dinner. One of a kind, this is truly a house of peace and love and could easily accomodate larger groups but I was fortunate to enjoy it myself. It is located in a very safe upscale neighborhood in Albuquerque. The owner is truly one of a kind and is most accomodating, endearing and knowlegeble about things to do here. If you are coming to Albuquerque for a day or a month, open your mind, call for availability and hopefully you too might enjoy this extrodinary house and extrodinary woman at Casa Paz y Amour"!

                    We had different family members arriving on different dates and staying for varying lengths of time. The owner was scattered and unaware of which dates were booked. Some of our guests enjoyed the hot tub and grounds. However, the group using the great room were totally dissatisfied because it was extremely noisy during early morning hours, and their privacy in the room was constantly interrupted by various people living in the house entering the room! Because of this, they checked out one day early to escape what felt like a zoo.

                    This is truly an amazing place! Great location, great atmosphere, and great people! I would recommend this place to my friends in a heart beat. If you're staying in Albuquerque and don't like the idea of staying in a hotel, this is the perfect place to get a "home away from home" experience. The whole house, and the gardens especially, provide a really peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

                    The family welcomed us as part of their own - very hospitable hosts. We had our own space when we needed it, and we socialized when we wanted to. Very clean rooms in a great environment, each boasting its unique personality. Both the inside and outside of the home make up an eclectic space in which we felt peace and we rested well. Various seating areas with extreme charm, culture and spiritual sense. Loved it, loved it, loved it! Stayed an extra night and will return when we go to Albuquerque, also a great place to visit! Thank you!

                  Cancellation policy:

                  Terms & Conditions of Vacation Rental at Casa Paz y Amour |: consideration of the monies received and the mutual promises contained herein, the Manager of the subject property hereby agrees to give guests permission to use the Property called Casa Paz y Amour on the dates described on the reservation form and in the confirmation e-mail, under the conditions stated herein: Advance Payment: Guest agrees to pay Manager an Advance Payment in the amount specified on the reservation form and in confirmation e-mail. Advance payment is used to secure the property for advance reservations and is due at the time the reservation is made. Half the reservation fee will be charge upon reservation, the balance charged thirty days prior to arrival. The balance will be charge thirty days prior to arrival. Amounts and confirmations will be made by email and or upon arrival depending on guest’s request. Final Payment: Guest agrees to pay Manager the final payment in full thirty days prior to arrival unless otherwise individually arranged with manager. Confirmation e-mail Cancellation Policy: A 25% cancellation fee will be applied to all reservations made if done sixty day prior to arrival. If cancellations are for reservations during high season (i.e. balloon fiesta, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, Presidents day) a 50% fee will be applied to the sixty days prior policy. All payments will be retained if reservations are canceled thirty days prior to arrival .There are no refunds upon day of arrival or after arrival or in the thirty day period prior to arrival. Casa Paz y Amour will do their best to re-rent the property if a cancellation is requested in the thirty day period and will refund the balance minus 25 % fee. If the subject property can be re-rented, a pro-rated refund will be issued less the 25% cancellation fee Security Deposit: Guest agrees to have Manager hold a credit card number as a security deposit for all damages that might occur during the guests stay. Guest agrees to pay Manager the amount of actual damages to the Property arising from use of the Property, as well as for missing items, excessive clean-up and, if necessary, the cost incurred in removing Guest from the Property. Cleaning Fee: A cleaning fee is required for each guest stay and is non-refundable. Cleaning fees vary based on occupancy and length of stay. Check in: Check in begins at 2:00 PM on the Arrival Date. This time is negotiable depending on occupancy and based on individual guest’s reservations. Checkout time is 10:00 AM on the Departure Date, unless a later time has been approved and negotiated with Manager prior to arrival. This is based on each individual guest’s requests and requirements and always contingent on new occupancy. Property Inspections: All problems, including inadequate cleaning and damage, must be reported in writing to Manager within 24 hours of check in for prior guest to be held responsible. Manager lives on site and reserves the right to enter guest’s rooms at any time for the purpose of effecting necessary inspections, repairs or maintenance. A small dander-free dog is present at the property, does not have access to the entire property, and can be removed upon guest’s request. Presence of the manager’s dog does not constitute a valid reason for rental termination. It is Guest’s sole responsibility to inspect the Property upon arrival. Guest agrees to inspect the entire Property to ensure that it is free of hazards and properly equipped. Please note that Casa Paz y Amour is not equipped for the elderly or handicapped. Guest assumes the entire risk of injuries arising from use of the Property. Guest will ensure that the Property has a secure shower or bathtub mat, and that the Guest takes reasonable measures to prevent slips in the bathroom, on staircases, steps, on balconies, and throughout the Property. Guest agrees to take a higher degree of care in the use of the Property because of the age of the structures and antique artifacts. Occupancy: The maximum number of occupants allowed on the Property is specified in the reservation. Children over the age of 4 are counted. Overcrowding or misrepresentation of number of guests is grounds for immediate termination of the rental agreement, revocation of the permission to use the Property, and removal of Guest(s) without refund. The Guest and or guests are the persons who will occupy the Property. Parents may not book Properties for use by minor children. The Guest must be present at the Property for the time of the reservation and take full responsibility for the Property. Small children are the responsibility of the Guest. Children should not roam free on balconies, climb on furniture, hang out of windows, or engage in other unsupervised activities. Use is at your own risk. Guest takes full responsibility for all lost or broken items and any damages to the Property of any kind Restrictions on Property Use: Guests are prohibited from engaging in any unlawful activity or any other activity that constitutes a nuisance. Violation of this provision will result in immediate eviction without refund, and Guest will be held liable for any damages to the Property, contents and grounds Pets: No Pets are allowed on the property at any time. Violation of the “No Pets” stipulation is grounds for immediate removal without refund. Smoking Prohibited: Casa Paz y Amour is a nonsmoking property and any form of smoking is prohibited inside the property. Personal Property Loss: Manager is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damages to Guest’s personal property or to personal property owned by Guest’s visitors including any vehicles whether owned, leased or rented. Returned Checks: Guest will pay a $1000.00 returned check fee on each check returned by Guest’s bank Subletting and Assignment: Guest may not sublet, sublicense or otherwise grant any rights to the use of Casa Paz y Amour unless agreed upon in writing with the Manager. Property Use Casa Paz y Amour may not be used for any activity in violation of local, state or federal laws, Attorney’s Fees: If Manager consults legal counsel or a professional collection service for collecting any amounts due to Manager under this Agreement, Guest shall be responsible for all costs of litigation and/or collection in case of such, including actual attorney’s fees Limitations on Rental: Casa Paz y Amour will not be liable for circumstances beyond their control, including but not limited to appliances or air-conditioning/heating failure, other mechanical failure, unfavorable weather, disruption of utility services including cable television, etc. There will be no relocation, rental pro-ration or refund in the event of such circumstances. In the event Manager is unable to deliver rooms at Casa Paz y Amour to Guests because of property sale, property Manager decision, fire, mandatory evacuation, eminent domain or Acts of Nature, or if the property is unavailable because of construction delays or lack of utilities, Guest agrees that Manager’s sole liability, as a result of any of these conditions, will be a full refund of all payments tendered by Guest. Casa Paz y Amour is taxed and treated as a transient occupancy, akin to hotel accommodations. Property laws do not apply to the license granted herein, and the Guest may be removed as a trespasser immediately upon termination of this license. The Property is rented on regular short-term periods and for a significantly higher rate than a non-vacation rental. Often a Guest is scheduled to begin a vacation at Casa Paz y Amour on the same day as the checkout day of another prior Guest. If Guest stays even one additional day, Manager would face significant logistical problems with the next Guest, including possible liability. As such, Guest agrees to vacate immediately on the checkout day at 10:00 a.m. Failure to do so will entitle Manager, in addition to all other remedies available to it, to have Guest ejected by law enforcement as trespasser and to physically remove Guest and all of Guest’s possessions from the Property (for which Guest hereby grants permission and consent) and obtain damages and injunctive relief against guest. Indemnification: Guest agrees to release Manager from and against all liability should anyone be injured upon the premises during the term of occupancy resulting from any cause whatsoever, except in the case of personal injury caused by willful gross negligence on the part of the Manager Effective Date: Not withstanding anything to the contrary, this Occupancy Agreement is binding and effective when no signature is required, and Guest’s affirmative assent to the terms is expressed by Guest’s reservation of the unit. If Guest desires to terminate this agreement due to lack of assent, he/she must do so within three days of the date the reservation was made in writing to the manager of Casa Paz y Amour. Governing Law: The terms and conditions stated herein will be interpreted by and governed under the laws of the State of New Mexico and any action arising out of this agreement shall be litigated in the State of New Mexico. Attorney’s Fees: In the event of any action or proceeding commenced by any party, the prevailing party in such action or proceeding shall be entitled to recover from the other party all cost and expenses thereof, including actual attorney’s fees and cost. Invalid Provisions: If any provision of this Agreement is held to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable under present or future laws effective during the term hereof, such provision shall be fully sever able and this Agreement shall be construed and enforced as if such illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision had never comprised a part hereof; and the remaining provisions hereof shall remain in full force and effect and shall not be affected by the illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision or by its severance hereof. Furthermore, in lieu of such illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision there shall be added automatically as a part of the Agreement a provision as similar in terms to such illegal, invalid or unenforceable provision as may be possible and still be legal, valid or enforceable Entire Agreement: This Agreement sets forth the entire understanding of the parties and supersedes all prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, with respect to the subject matter hereof. No amendment or modification hereto shall be binding unless made in writing and signed by the parties hereto. Waiver: The waiver by either party hereto of a breach of any term or provision of this Agreement shall not operate or be construed as a waiver of a subsequent breach of same provision by any party or of the breach of any other term or provisions of this Agreement Headings: Headings of the paragraphs herein are used solely for convenience and shall not be used for interpretation or construing any word, clause, paragraph or provision of this Agreement. By reading this agreement on line prior to submitting your reservation, Guest hereby agrees and accepts all the terms and conditions stated above.
