Come stay in our charming, mountain lake home and enjoy the gorgeous, 180 degree views of Rocky Mountain National Park and Shadow Mountain Lake. Cook up a hearty breakfast in the kitchen and enjoy a cup of coffee while savoring the views, quiet location, and easy access to numerous activities. An artesian spring and willow bushes provide natural attractions for moose, fox, elk and other animals which you will likely see during your visit.
Spend a fun-filled day skiing, snowshoeing or browsing the shops in Grand Lake. How about sledding or cross country skiing with your family? This cabin is the ideal place for you to make those special memories that will last a lifetime. Have fun hanging out together and getting away from it all - enjoy board games, doing a puzzle, or just relaxing in the laid back Colorado mountains.
Have lunch or dinner in one of the many fine local restaurants. Perhaps you will decide to explore the night life in the valley, or maybe a relaxing evening at home is in order. The full kitchen has everything you need to make a wonderful home-cooked meal.
Return to the cozy cabin after a busy day in the mountains and sink into the soft recliner couch with a bowl of popcorn to watch a movie. When it's time for bed, climb our signature spiral staircase to the master bedroom and loft, aka "the fort," which is perfect for the young and the young at heart. Then nestle under the warm quilts for sweet dreams, until you awake to another amazing day in Grand Lake, Colorado.
**We also own the Moose Cabin, #218770. Rent one or both cabins! They are on the same 1/2 acre, but separate. A great place for two families to stay.***

Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2006
We love the Grand Lake area and all of the outdoor activities it offers. We especially enjoy relaxing at the cabin when we are not going up to work! As lovely as the cabin is, we are always making improvements. We figure if we are comfortable there, our guests will be as well.
Why the Owner Chose Grand Lake
Skiing, hiking, wildlife, views, fishing, boating, snowshoeing! We really love to get out of the city and kick back in the mountains.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
5/09: Recently, we had a gorgeous moose wander across our property. We quietly trailed it, taking many pictures. What a huge animal - we certainly kept our distance! We've observed elk while eating out on the deck.
The winter snowfalls are amazing. We had 3 feet out in the yard this winter! The summers are cooler than in Boulder, and we can see far more stars!

Thank you Mary and John for your suggestion - we agree! We have ordered reading lights for the bedside tables in the Master Bedroom. There is nothing like being able to read a great book in bed!

in the cabin and enjoying our hikes, with and without snowshoes. Our only suggestion for the cabin is to add some good lights for reading. Once it is dark outside, there is only one good reading light - the downstairs floor lamp. Otherwise, all great!

Our favorite was to lounge around the fireplace. This year - not a lot of snow but skiing and snowmobiling were great! We got to see caribou (elk?), but not in the city or near cabin. Overall, we had a great time! Thanks -

Saw the fox & moose. Lots of squirrels. Great snowmobiling! Oh yes, and the melodrama - funny! (Owners are thinking that they went to the Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre? Another great activity in Grand Lake!)

Thoroughly enjoyed it! We love Grand Lake and all the neat places to hike. Did 2 hikes while here: 1. to Shadow Mt. Lookout 2. to Lulu City and beyond (to Little Yellowstone Canyon) though we could not get across the Colorado River due to the bridge being out (caused by flooding from excessive snowfall this winter). It was a nice hike nonetheless. Saw a fox run by the cabin!

Very well located and so comfortable! (And we saw 2 teenage moose on the road to the cabin one night!) If you are stocking the pantry - take the drive to Granby to the City Market for groceries - it is a great store! Eating out instead? We loved the disorganized but excellent breakfast (and pastries) at the Bluewater Bakery/Cafe. Fat Cat Cafe also has a yummy breakfast. Grand Pizza makes a mean pizza and Sagebrush BBQ has an extensive menu with great buffalo burgers. If you trek to Estes Park try the Egg and I for breakfast. The Estes Park Brewery for micro-brews or a jug of their own fantastic root beer. (There's also 2 nice movie theaters there.) Want a couple of lovely, nearby, short hikes? Try Adams Falls or Cascade Falls - both worth the trip! Or do the 2 hour trail ride with the Sombrero Stables to see the forest and streams while the horse does the work!! Be sure to drive up to the top of Trail Ridge Rd in RMNP - the views are stellar! So much to see in the area - don't forget to see Grand Lake Village itself!
