You'll love this six bedrooms, four baths (plus two half baths) home located on a heavily wooded, one acre lot on the 17th tee of the par 72 Sapphire National Golf Course (Elevation approximately 3800 feet).
Beautifully landscaped with two trout ponds and a creek running the full length of the property. Enjoy the sound of the waterfalls, the beauty of Mother Nature, and the golfing activities from one of your two outside decks by day. And when nightfall comes, create a romantic setting by switching on the outside lighting. The flood lights highlighting the trees over the trout ponds and down Marti's Creek gives Mother Nature a whole new dimension. But, to enjoy this scene to its fullness, stroll down the lighted path to the old park bench overlooking the ponds.
This two story contemporary home, built in 1992, comes elegantly furnished along with cathedral and vaulted ceilings, two stone fireplaces, an abundance of windows, a wrap-around upper deck, a screened lower deck, double car garage and more.
Ideal for two families who like to vacation together, this home away from home has two master bedroom suites (one has a Jacuzzi tub), each with a king-size bed. One bedroom has twin beds, all the others have queens. There are two entertainment centers, one could be enjoyed by the adults on the upper level while the kids tune in to their favorites on the "Big-Screen" on the lower level. There is Ping Pong in the garage or billiards in the downstairs rec area.
Or if golf is your game, look no further. Whether it be a stag group looking for a challenge (believe me, these mountain courses are a challenge) or golfing couples in search of a memorable week, there are enough courses in the area to play a different one every day. The most convenient one, of course, is the one our home overlooks. But don't pass up at least one round at the new Highland's Cove course located on Highway 64 between Cashiers and Highland. It is awesome!
Whatever might bring you to our future retirement home, you will find it well equipped to handle your every need. The kitchen will service a large group ( as an example, a 30-cup coffee maker to get you going in the mornings). There are dinning facilities both inside and out. And cooking on the outside high BTU gas grill is fun... but be careful, it is potent. A rare steak only takes two minutes per side, well done, four to five minutes.
But, if cooking in is not your thing, there are many good restaurants in the area. Two of our favorites in nearby Cashiers are Horacio's and The Orchard. Closer to home, in the Sapphire Valley Resort area, are The Library and Mica's. The restaurants in Cashiers do not serve alcoholic beverages, but if you like a toddy or wine with your dinner, you are welcome to bring it with you.
Our home is located within the Sapphire Valley Resort district and as a result we, along with any of our guest (like you), have access to all the amenities, facilities and activities of the Sapphire Valley Resort. The amenities and facilities are listed elsewhere on this web site. At check-in, you will receive guest cards, a list of amenities & facilities and a schedule of activities taking place during your stay. Together, they can greatly enhance your vacation as they provide something interesting for every age group every day.
We are happy to share our home with you, but only on the condition that you treat it as though it was your own. If the party before you did, it will be in perfect condition for you. If you do, it will be likewise for the people who follow you.

Dear Bradleys, The Norton clan had a marvelous time in North Carolina and it was due in part - a Big Part - to the great house where we were staying. There was a place for everyone - well almost ....we did have to go buy an air mattress for one of the little ones because none of them wanted to sleep up in the loft room alone and we just put a twin blow-up on the floor so all three of them could sleep in the same room - we saw your air mattress in the closet, but never did find the pump....Anyway, the lay-out of the house is marvelous for a vacation....the three living areas - not counting the porches - gave space for each age group to do their own thing....the pool table and ping-ping tables got good work-outs! We found lots of things to do in the general area, from Tub-E at the Club, to sliding rock - two different places; horseback riding at WhiteWater and a hike to the falls there; a hike and picnic and LOTS of sliding at Turtle Falls; white water rafting at two different places for the different age groups; and the big guys did finally get in some golf; I had taken my art supplies and some books but never took them out of the car!....It was a Great Vacation and we are so glad that your place was available. Our 10 year old granddaughter, Megan, plans to apply to one of the camps in the area for next summer and, if she gets accepted, we will be looking to find a place for vacation on drop-off or pick-up week. We will certainly keep your place in mind. Pat Norton

Thanks for letting us enjoy your lovely home for our family reunion. The teenagers really enjoyed the large screen television and the pingpong. Granny loved the back porch. Our 20-month old loved the long hallways to run in. The rest of us just enjoyed having enough room to move around. Our weather was perfect the whole week. By the way, we didn't eat the trout from the trout ponds either.
