We rented this house because of the amount of small children (6 grandkids) and 3 families. Brought my children, their spouses, and their children to spend time with my father. The house was perfect for accomodating everyone with their own space as well as having a spacious yet cozy central gathering area in the kitchen/dining/living room area. The 3 balconies allowed for everyone to have their alone times and the large balcony on the top floor was perfect for getting everyone together as well for outdoor fun and barbecues. We rented both the upper levels as well as the lower level and my wife loved the fact that we could "get away from the madness" every once and a while. Everything we needed was provided from linens, cookware, closet space and appliances. I was truly amazed. But, the best part, having so many kids, was all the outdoor extras. Enough Bicycles to take everyone, of all ages, on a bike ride. Enough beach chairs, boogy boards, and surprizingly wet suits, to take everyone to the beach. I think Guiness is going to give us honorable mention for the sand castles we built. Their even is a 1 hole putting green in the front of the house that saw several hours of intense competition by the children as well as the adults. But the one factor that made the whole experience much more then I expected was the feeling that we were in a home and not just a nice house that we were renting. Everyone who came to visit said the same thing. They felt like they were walking into our home, not just a house that we rented. This place is truly special. We have rented condos and homes in Mexico, Florida, and Myrtle Beach S.C. and while they were very nice, they did not have any of the charm or hominess that this place has. If you rent it once I can guarantee you will want to rent it again. The owners were also very nice and easy to deal with which from experience I can tell you is not always the case. To sum it up, Nothing Better ever.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful home. The house was everything promised and more. The family areas were plenty big enough for the whole family to eat, watch movies, play games and gather, and I also appreciated the fact that there are lots of other rooms and patios for when people need their space. Our week here was very special for the whole family.

My family and I needed a place to stay and congregate during the weekend of my daughter's wedding in Oxnard. We were very pleased with this beautiful home. Our family met here august 2010 and we enjoyed the house, the beach, the area and the weather ( unusually cool ). The house is on a quiet street with quiet neighbors, plenty of parking and close to town. Lots of room, places to hide out ( 3 decks ) and lots of beach stuff you can use. We went out on the ocean kayak and came within a few feet of many dolphins, almost every day. On the week days we had the beach to ourselves, and on the weekend there were very few people there. We reccomend this place for family get togethers.

A Great Escape!

It was another 113 degree day in Phoenix, but no worries for us; we were hanging out in beautiful Oxnard in a very cool beach house! This house has it all for a wonderful beach vacation. The garage has every type of toy one could want from surf boards to ping pong. The spacious second floor has two bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen that even my picky girlfriend loved, and a large living room. The best part of the house though is the third floor. This huge bedroom has a balcony that was amazing! Trust me, your friends and family will be impressed:)

We haven't had a vacation in years and being on a budget thought why not look into renting a house. Best discussion we made, what you see here is what you get nothing is hidden. Debbie responded very quickly and very helpful everything from her emails to the paperwork she sends you was easy to understand. The town is very quiet and friendly and the miles of beaches was perfect. Lots to do in this area the only regret we had was not making are stay longer. Thank you Debbie for making our first Homeaway from Home a pleasant experience

Awesome Beach House!

The beach house was great! We stayed here for memorial day weekend and had a blast with my family. We had kids that loved the ping pong table and plenty of beach toys. Great location and huge house!! I will rent this beach home again if I am in the Oxnard area! Debbie the owner was a pleasure to deal with and I have rented vacation homes in the past and never received back my deposit so quick! I was very happy with this vacation home rental.

Great Beach House

This rental was excellent for my group of 12 people! The house is very close to a huge beach, and Oxnard is a great sleepy beach town. :) We went for a run from the house and were able to check out the super cute surrounding neighborhood. Ocean breezes are wonderful from most areas within the house. All the different decks and patios are very nice as well. We really enjoyed our stay there! I would recommend this rental for large groups!

The perfect getaway

We stayed at this beautiful beach house for a 2 day fishing trip. I can honestly say that we were pleasantly surprised at the warm feeling we received from the house. It had everything that was mentioned and the pictures don't do the house justice. It was much bigger than we had expected. It was only a short block from the beach, a 3 minute walk. The owners were pleasant to deal with and they made our stay very accommodating. We had a blast fishing and a blast staying at this home. Everyone wanted to stay longer! We can't wait to book another stay at this wonderful place. You have to check it out for yourselves. You won't be disappointed!!

We spent a week over Christmas and had plenty of room for our extended family. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare Christmas dinner.The kids enjoyed the ping pong table and bikes when we weren't on the beach.The roof deck is a great place to enjoy sunset and views of the Channel Islands. Plenty of restaurants nearby, we like seafood at Channel Islands Harbor. Lots to to in the area, hiking in the Ojai area, a seal sanctuary at Bailard exit off Hwy 101 in Carpinteria. Seafood, shopping, a zoo and historic mission in Santa Barbara and wineries to the north near Los Olivos and Solvang.

My friends and I had the best time at this house the first weekend in October. We've known each other since grade school (we're now in our 50's), and we pick a place every year to get together and catch up on what everybody is doing. This year we decided to rent this house on the beach and it worked out perfectly. The weather was great, the view was great and we all felt right at home. We enjoyed going to the beach, eating out and we even used the bicycles in the garage. The owners provide everything you could possibly want or need, and Debbie made it so easy to rent. This house is definitely on our list of places to stay in the future!

We just returned from a lovely week in Oxnard. This house and guest house was simply perfect for our group of 9. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. There was plenty of space for us to all spread out. We felt right at home. It had all of the amenities we needed including beach gear! The location is convenient to all of the local stores and restaurants, and perfect for traveling to Santa Barbara or Ventura. Don't miss the farmers market on Sunday. We can't wait to go back!

We were last minute renters. Debbie was quick to respond and the transaction was smooth. The house was large, clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable. We stayed in this house for the month of January, 2009. The description and pictures provide a very accurate view of what to expect. The Channel Islands area itself is a wonderful vacation spot, with every amenity you could want, from restaurants, to shops, to exercise facilities, etc. And within an hour or less you can be in LA, Malibu, Santa Barbara, Santa Inez (for you wine lovers), and many other wonderful places. We are very active and were never at a loss for something to do, from walking the beach every morning (only steps from the house), to visiting wineries, museums, the Tonight Show, etc. And it's just as easy to relax with a book on the beach or in front of the fireplace, and grilling a steak on the deck. It's also important to have attentive owners, and Debbie and Keith have every detail covered. They are easy to deal with, are very informative, communicate immediately, and are unobtrusive. The house is clean and has everything you could possibly need. We hope to return for a longer stay next winter.

We flew in from Indonesia to have a family reunion- relatives from all over CA. It was a great house for this- kids with spouses, mates, etc- room for all. Owners provide lots of extras such as stuff for beach, condiments left in fridge, paper goods, shampoo, etc. was nice since we traveled a good distance. House was comfortable and beach was close and very nice. Quiet area and great for visiting family.

A comfy bed for everyone in our group (the guest house is a suite located on the first floor attached to the main house, is a super deal and should always be rented with the main house) plus so many beach toys in the garage to keep all the kids busy at all times made our stay perfect. We are planning a return trip next year and want to stay an extra day to enjoy the beach. The neighbors are quiet, permanent residents, so it made our stay that much more relaxing. The roof top deck has some of the best views in the area and the beach is only 150 yards away. The beach was super clean, unpopulated, and the water was pretty clean with no rip tides and no rocks on the beach. This Silver Strand Beach is really only accessible to residents in the area and no big public parking lots except one small lot toward the north end but it is about 400 yards from the beach. The kitchen had enough supplies to cook for an army and the refrigerator had some basic items like mustard, in case we forgot to bring something. A great place with nice, accommodating owners, and you can't beat the value!

My family had a great vacation! The house had plenty of room, so were not crowded at all. The beach was fun, I had a wonderful morning with the kids finding lots of sand dollars and seeing dolpins! It was nice to be on a beach that is not crowded. Everyone in my family of all ages had a fun time!

This house was great. We had various family from 3 different households and it had enough space for everyone to get along for 8 nights. We had everything we needed and more. The house well exceeds what you see from the photos. Debbie & Keith were very good to work with and returned both my deposit and my forgotten cell phone charger immediately after we left.
