    • We are return visitors to Pelekia Iki! We loved this house and its location so much when we visited in Summer '08 that we returned in Summer '09. Having researched many alternative accomodations, I can unequivocally say that this house offers the BEST accomodations in the North Shore. Nancy and Bill are the most helpful, kind, and knowlegeable hosts I've ever known. We will definitley be back in the summer of 2010. Thank you Bill and Nancy for making us feel like friends and neighbors and not just "renters." PS - That mango jelly disappeared in about a day! Yummy!!!!!

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Gigi. Mahalo for the kind words. Thanks for joining us again, and as before, it was a pleasure serving you. You're continuing visits to the island are racking up your Kama'aina status and soon "T" will become "one local boy". Glad you enjoyed the Jelly, I'll see if I can get you some more from Laura. Aloha and Ahui Ho ! Bill and Nancy

    • WOW! This was a last minute vacation for my family (5 adults & 2 infants), and we are so glad we chose this beautiful beach house. We were a bit hesitant because this was our first time staying at a rental, but after several e-mails and phone conversations with Nancy and Bill there was no doubt we wanted to rent from them. They are professional and honest people. Upon our arrival, Bill made us feel welcome, and was available when we had any questions, about the house or the island. The house had everything we needed and some. From beach towels to laundry detergent, it was great! The kayak was lots of fun, and grilling outside everyday was nice. We really didn't do much outside of the house, there isn't any need, you have the beautiful ocean in your backyard. We will return, with more family, and will definitely rent from Bill and Nancy again. Thank you so much for making this the perfect family vacation. Homeowner Response:
Aloha Morales Ohana. Mahalo for your wonderful comments. We LOVE to hear how our guests utilize the property's to the fullest extent and find no need to travel other than to the grocery store. Touring is nice, but relaxing and enjoying without an itinerary or a schedule is the way to go. It was a pleasure meeting you all and I hope the boys will be back to catch more fish for the grill. Aloha, Nancy and Bill

    • Residence 111339 The Pallenbergs loved the home and the view of sunrise and sunset. Wish the weather was better and the power outage didn't happen. House had everything we could want or need. It was clean and very comfortable. Wish we had a bigger tv ONLY because we were stuck indoors due to weather. Loved the kids were on other side of the wing. Managers were incredibly helpful during power outage. Thanks. Ilyse and Harry

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Pallenberg Ohana. I suppose the best I can say is you got more of a deserted island experience with the Island Wide Power outage. Truly unfortunate that the wild weather put a damper on your vacation. That was THE WORST WINTER we've experienced since our arrival in 1986. Hope you'll try to make it back when the weather might be more accomodating. Aloha, Nancy and Ohana

    • Aloha Bill & Nancy Hollywood couldn't have created a better setting. The beach was EXACTLY as pictured which was impt for our little beginning snorkler. She even fished from the steps during high tide. The "welcome" of music playing and fresh fruit in a fully appointed kitchen was wonderful. Thank you too for "arranging" our last day treat: a monk seal sunning itself on reef. Our grandchild has seen Hawaii at its best. It was a great stay. Thank you again The Munekata Ohana

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Munekata Ohana. Having lived at this beach for the past 19 or so years and raising our own Keiki here, we believe this has got to be one of THE BEST BEACHES FOR CHILDREN. Glad you got to see the Monk Seal. As an endangered species that spends 98% of its time swimming in the ocean, a chance siting is truly a treat. Mahalo for allowing us to serve you and we hope to see you again. Aloha and ahui ho, Nancy and Ohana

    • Pelekia Ike was a terrifc place to spend our family vacation. The house was beautiful, clean and well-stocked with everything we needed for the week. The location was a quick drive to all the places we wanted to be like Shark's Cove for snorkeling and Waimea Bay and Sunset beach for swimming. However, the best part was coming back home to that amazing view and our own little swimming area. Our daughters loved snorkeling in "the pond" looking at all the little fish, crabs and shrimp! What a great place for the kids to play in the water at low or even mid-tide. Nancy and Bill were also great. They both made themselves available if you ever needed anything, but also gave you all the privacy that you wanted. Thanks so much for lending us the snorkels and fins. Bill, you were right about the Kahuku Superette having ono kalbi. We BBQ'd one night for dinner and our friends from Honolulu loved it too. Thanks for the tip. When we return for another trip, we will be calling for a reservation. Mahalo, The Cavanagh Family

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Trish,Kevin & Girls, Mahalo for your wonderful comments. It sure was a pleasure meeting you all. We are so glad that you enjoyed your vaction with us. We are always happy to help make your vacation pleasant and a memorable one. We look forward to your next visit. Mahalo, Bill and Nancy

    • Nancy and Bill - Aloha and Mahalo. We had the most wonderfully relaxing time when we stayed at the house in Laie. Everything was just great. The fresh fruit was delicious, and HoneyGirl was fun to watch. We saw so much sea life with the ocean right outside the door, it was hard to go inside. The deck was the perfect place to sit, read, and watch the beautiful Hawaiian sunsets. It was so nice to meet both of you, our wonderful hosts and we feel like we have made some new friends. It was one of the most restful, memorable vacations we have enjoyed in many years. We can't wait to return, but want to stay longer next time, and bring the family. A week just isn't enough. The house is exactly as shown in the pictures, and the Polynesian Cultural Center is just across the street. We went into Waikiki for a day to do the "tourist stuff" but could not wait to get back to Laie because of the crowds, noise, and traffic. We can't say enough good things about our stay. Until we meet again - Aloha and Mahalo. Terrie and DeeVon

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Terrie and DeeVon. Thank you for the wonderful comment. You ate, you swam, you relaxed and you toured. You even got to meet our Endangered Species Monk Seal and the trip into "Town" probably made your country place even that much more special. We again feel that we have made new friends too and we hope to see you again. Aloha, Nancy and Ohana

    • Pelekia Iki is the absolutely perfect house and location for an Oahu family vacation. The house is spotlessly clean and has all the amenities including a breathtaking view. The location is perfectly situated to take advantage of all of the North Shore destinations such as Shark's Cove and Waimea Bay. Bill and Nancy are the quintessential hosts; not only are they walking Oahu encyclopedias, they will do backflips to ensure that guests are comfortable, informed, and happy. I can't imagine why anyone would opt for a condo or hotel room where it is still a 10 min ordeal to get from your room to the ocean. At Pelekia Iki, I started each day wading ankle deep through the crystal clear waters of bathtub beach, coffee in hand, watching the sunrise. And it took less than a minute at a leisurely pace to get from the coffee maker to the ocean. It doesn't get any better than this! The house has an incredibly open feeling with huge floor to celing windows and a private front and backyard. There are tons of small fish in the "bathtub", and it is always calm and kid safe no matter how rough it is in the open ocean. We will definitely be back next year. A special thanks to Bill and Nancy for helping to make our vacation so memorable! The Lestaks Rob, Gigi, Robby, Trevor

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Rob, Gigi, Robby, Trevor Mahalo for the wonderful comment and description of your stay at Pelekia Iki. The boys sure did get waterlogged and Rob always seemed to be mesmerized by the view. Glad you could get a bit of downtime and TRULY relax at this comfortable beach home. It was a pleasure being of service to you and we look forward to seeing you next year. Aloha and ahui ho! Nancy and Ohana

    • Our stay at Bathtub Beach was a wonderful experience. On our arrival, before we could even get in the house, our kids saw the ocean and ran to the backyard saying "this is awesome". That was one of the best parts of the trip, seeing their reaction to what we worked hard planning. Needless to say, the kids and my wife and I had a great experience. We had a seal come visit us three times in the beach area. Nearness to the PCC, BYU-Hawaii, and the pipeline beaches was perfect. We fully recommend this to anyone looking for a great beachfront property with a nice beach for younger kids but close enough to all the other major beaches, nice and clean home, property managers who respect your privacy but are always available should you need them, etc. Thank you Bill and Nancy!

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Sasser Ohana. We love it when the keiki can get in the water and truly (and safely) experience the Pacific Ocean. The seal was a real treat as it is an endangered species with less than 1,200 in the world. She is a newcomer to the pond as of this year and we believe she originates from Kauai. It seems ahe may be preparing to calve. Thank you for your kind words and we hope to see you again. Aloha and ahui ho, Nancy and Ohana

    • Bill and Nancy, Thank you so much for the great week in Laie. It was the perfect location. I have no idea why anyone would ever want to stay in the city instead of in the country near the North Shore. The house was perfect, the beach was great, the location was awesome. The ocean was perfect to use the kayak as we didn't have to worry about the dangers of going on the other side of the reef with the kids. The use of the kayak and the boogie boards was a great addition. The octopus you caught for us and allowed the kids to handle was a great experience for them! Thanks! When we got home we needed a vacation. Our only complaint was that we did to much as we would have liked to just "chill" at the beach more instead of doing all the tourist things but being the first time for our family to visit and Kim being born in Laie we felt we needed to do as much as possible. You will definitely have some of our friends contacting you in the years to come to stay at this house and if we ever get back to Laie, this house will be our first choice! Thanks again for making it a great week for us. Feel free to use us a reference if you ever need to. Thanks again. Jeff and Kim - Mesa, AZ

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Jeff and Kim. Yes you did put on some miles, but glad you took some time off to enjoy the home and beach. I guess you pretty much covered all the touristy stuff so next visit, you wil be able to RELAX. Hope you found Kim's Dad's house and that she was able to see old friends. Your kids were great and I hope they have a bunch of those last-a-lifetime memories. Aloha and ahui ho, Nancy and Ohana

    • We had a great stay here, all the kids enjoyed swimming and snorkeling the calm waters of bathtub beach. We all enjoyed having access to the sea kayak. And having the Polynesian Cultral Center close by turned out to be a big plus as we ended up returning to visit it 3 times. If we return to Oahu this house will be high on our list of top options.

      Homeowner Response:
Aloha Matt and Ohana, Glad to hear you enjoyed the house,Kayak and Beach. It's a real plus being able to go back to PCC 3 times for the price of 1. Look forward to you return visit. Mahalo, Bill and Nancy
