Situated on a seven-acre, woodsy setting, with stream running through the property, this four-bedroom 1940s farmhouse is located in Rifton, New York (located ten minutes from New Paltz and five minutes from Rosendale). Hiking/mountain biking trails accessible from the property. This house also features a rustic wood-burning sauna in a separate building. Roast marshmallows over an out door fire.

Ideal for a family vacation. The house is set up for children with high chair, toys, a sand garden, two separate indoor play areas, a jogging stroller, brand new wooden jungle gym... Everything you will need for an outdoorsy family vacation. All less than two hours from New York City!

  • Dear Donna & Michael It has been a week since we left your upstate get- a-way, and I am still riding on the sweet remnants of our time spent up there. I can't say what parts of your house were my favorite because there were too many to name, but in the running was; sleeping to fresh cool air with an open window at my head, eating breakfast on the sunshine drenched deck & feasting to bbq'd everything under the umbrella in a torrential thunder & lightening storm, waking up to the kids already dressed and digging, swinging & running around outside, and having daily swims in the river. The Creek down the hill was so magical, that nothing is really comparing. Needless to say, we had a wonderful & rejuvenating time. Thank you for making it such a wonderful home. If there are any weeks during the year, especially in the fall months coming up. We would love to spend some time there in the various seasons love, Suzanne & the boys

  • This house was the perfect summer getaway for us. The back yard is surrounded by woods to create complete privacy. At the same time, there's a huge, beautiful lawn, artistic plantings, a fire pit for nighttime campfires, an expansive deck with two grill, an eating area, a hammock and great open space where we all lay on the wood to stargaze at night. Inside we loved that everything was comfortable and well-equipped, with lots of privacy for guests, work spaces, wifi, cable TV...windows onto greenery in every room. Donna and Michael took great care of us. We highly recommend this place and hope to rent it again ourselves.

  • We had a great time here - the house is surrounded by trees and very quiet. The back yard and patio is huge. The house is tastefully decorated and clean and has everything you'll ever need. Our kids had so much fun playing on the slide and with the toys and books. The sauna was great during these chilly March days, even though the fire stove kept the place cozy and warm during our entire stay. And with the proximity to New York City it was a perfect get-away for all of us. We can't wait to again.

  • This house was just what we had hoped for. A peaceful open space to be connected with nature. Whether it was the family of beautiful hawks, the fawn that visited us, or simply the wide open space and sky. Our 2 year old and four year old did not have a complaint all week and we did not have to leave the house.

  • my girlfriend and i had a great time in this rustic house with stylish modern furniture. the grounds are gorgeous, the deck expansive, and the wood fire sauna was perfect after a day out in the mountains. plus, it was easy to find and close to new paltz - a very cute town.
