The home has great ocean views and we slept with the window open at night so we could hear the waves crashing. The home is very kid and pet friendly, with fencing on the deck and a great covered carport. We felt very comfortable here and Ken and Elsie are so accommodating and kind. The home is much larger than the pictures led me to believe. The home is very near to town which allows for great walks. The nearby beach is dog friendly with easy access. The shower is amazing and includes a sauna. We can't wait to stay there again.

Our family was very happy with the accommodation and owners' hospitality! The place is much more spacious than the way it looks in the posted pictures. The open and cozy layout creates a wonderful atmosphere for quality family time. We enjoyed the views and sounds of the ocean. Both Elsie and Ken were very nice and even set up a crib for Kristian and set of bowls for Yoshi so every member of our family felt welcome there! I loved the decor, candles, nautical accents and all details that made this place feel like home!

Our family stayed here for 11 nights for our summer vacation. It was our first time to Gualala. We felt very welcome to Gualala. When we arrived Elsie had arranged for us to join them at a local neighborhood party. We had a wonderful time and met so many nice people. Elsie and Ken's modest house is very comfortable. Wonderful views from the lovely sunroom and deck. The neighborhood is quiet but very close to town. We walked many times to the store. All the neighbors are very nice as well. I love the area! We miss it very much. There was so much to do and see. The ocean was amazing. We would love to stay here again. Hopefully sooner than later :) Warm regards, Laurie, Scott, Zachary and Jorde. Nellie and Murphy had a great time too. They loved the dog beach :) Scott said fishing was "off the hook". I also highly recommend the local park in Gualala. I went for morning runs there everyday with our dogs. There are trails that take you out to the beach. The beauty in the park was stunning.

Our family recently moved to the Medo area and our first night there, we needed a last minute place to stay. The owners went out of their way to make room for us. We arrived late at night and they welcomed us at the door. When we couldn't find a place open for dinner, they brought dinner to us...amazing! The house was cozy, well cared for and super clean. There are lovely views out the sunroom and you can hear the waves crashing from the deck. We felt so welcomed! Thank you!

a truly comfortable place

Having rented several places in the past I must say that this was the most comfortable place we have stayed in to date. I think the owners must have a contractor in the family as there was beautiful tile work in the bathroom and the house was very well maintained. The kitchen was extremely well set up and included a waffle iron. Else (the owner) provided the waffle mix and syrup which was a great way to start the vacation! It was easy to cook meals for the family. The views were lovely from the sunroom and the owners provided many thoughtful touches (games, books and videos, puzzles, a nice sound system). We kayaked on the nearby river which had a gentle current for kids and had a great time. Here's what my 10 year old has to say: The place extremely well set up and clean. It was very quiet compared to my house because its not like you hear a garbage truck going beep! every week. There is also a lot of beach access nearby. In my opinion it was awesome. Else says that she has many returning renters. They write nice things in her guest book but don't write reviews on the website so I'm writing this....

We surely got a lot of sun at breakfast and dinner time sitting in the sunroom with water view. It is a very clean and comfortable house in a small coastal town perfect for family relaxing vacations away from the crowds. Close to beaches, stores, and restaurants, art center and tennis courts. I have stayed at this house in La La Land (that is what I call it due to being heaven!)...two times now! I love it! Each time I have gone up for girlfriends weekend and all of us have enjoyed ourselves there very much so! The steam room is a must do! We are making an annual event for us... ;) Can't get enough and never want to leave! Elsie did give me permission to be a permanent fixture there! ;) Have fun and enjoy your time!
