The Good, A Little Bad, But Great Location

Guest: Kay and Herb (Sacramento, CA)
Date of Stay: 09/26/11 Review Submitted: 10/24/11

After staying in the apartment for 1 week in September, I can definitely say the location of the apartment is great. Although on a quiet street, you are only blocks from the Ponte Vecchio bridge and all the other attractions. Every attraction as well as restaurants and grocery stores are all within easy walking distance from the apartment. Though the building is old, the apartment was well secured, spacious and nice kitchen appliances. However, at times the water pressure was extremely low (mainly when other building residents have their water on) and there is a slight musky smell in apartment. The smell did clear after we opened the windows, however, unfortunately, the mosquitoes came flying in.

Owner response:An electric dehumidifier has been installed in the apartment to reduce the level of humidity. This same appliance will also provide much fresher air in the summer because with less humidity the air feels fresher. Mosquitos nets will also be installed at the windows.

Great location and nice and cool for summer

My three children and I stayed in this apartment for three days this July. It was spacious and well equipped, as well as staying nice and cool as a result of being on the first floor. While we did have a little problem with getting clothes to dry thoroughly, we didn't feel that dampness was a big problem here. The kids also very much enjoyed the whirlpool tub. The location was superb for getting everywhere we wanted to go, withough being right in the middle of tourism central. And Carlo was fantastic--thorough and helpful and polite. We would definitely stay here again.

Too Damp and Subterranean for comfort

Guest: Brian (Seattle, WA, USA)
Date of Stay: 06/20/11 Review Submitted: 08/22/11

We just returned from a visit in June 2011 and were very disappointed with this apartment. While it is spacious for a studio with loft, it was always damp and musty even if we left the windows open and fans running. There was a plumbing leak in the bathroom that accounted for some of the humidity but the apartment sits several feet below ground and I think it is always going to be damp (It was very hot and dry outside during our stay). After we left, it took days to get all of the dampness out of our clothing and suitcases. The mosquitoes were a problem too, if you left the windows open (Which you will NEED to do). The location is very quiet and it is blocks away from some unique restaurants, bars and art galleries so you might want to find another place nearby. The manager was very thoughtful and I have to complement him in his efforts to make us comfortable but the plumbing leak and the constant humidity were insurmountable and really made this apartment unpleasant.

Owner response:The Jacuzzi leak was fixed. It was causing dampness. Accidents do happen; we fix things. And we apologize for the inconvenience. In that case we even offered a refund. What to say: everyone appreciate very much the apartment, its quietness and confort, the location, the ancient building, its nearness to restaurants and all kind of interest points. I am usually flattered by how much people love its ambience and the experience.

First trip to Florence

Guest: empty nesters (utah)
Date of Stay: 04/01/11 Review Submitted: 04/17/11

We had a wonderful time. The apartment was in a great location. Close to all of the sites and out of the tourist hoards. It was quiet and more like a local neighborhood. The Jacuzzi was wonderful after a day full of walking and seeing the statues and paintings. Carlos was most helpful upon arrival suggesting restaurants, locations of grocery and sites like the nearby Piazzola Michelangelo. Which we really enjoyed hanging with “David” at sunset. Carlos was also very helpful in locating my glasses when we were leaving, we thought they may be at a local restaurant. And he also recommended shortcuts to the Pitti Palace through the local gardens. The provided computer and wifi was most helpful. When we return to Florence we will most definitely see if Carlos has any availability. The stairs to the big bed could be a problem for some but most of the unit was at the ground floor.

Convenient and Charming

Guest: Susan (Washington, D.C.)
Date of Stay: 03/21/11 Review Submitted: 04/11/11

My 11 year old grandson and I stayed here 11 nights in March 2011. The apartment had a lot of old world charm and modern conveniences, including WiFi and access to a computer. There was also an oven, a washing machine and jet tub. The apartment is across the river from, and an easy walk to the usual attractions, and also close to attractions on the south side of the river. We walked everywhere. There were excellent neighborhood restaurants as well as a grocery. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking meals; the living room was a cozy spot for an early morning cup of coffee and reading.

My daughter and I had an excellent four day stay during June 2009. Everyone was hospitable, and the room and location were as fine as the VRBO description suggested. Almost all the major attractions are within a 15 minute walk, reasonable groceries and restaurants are nearby, and scenic walks are around the corner. Highly recommended.

My Husband, mother-in-law and my self had the opportunity to stay in this very pleasant apartment on November,2007. We found it to be clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed, from cooking utinlsils to a hair dryer. Our host was helpful, polite and friendly. We would recommend this apartment for any one who is looking comfortable stay. I would just like to say that we really enjoyed our holiday, and found your apartment to be very quiet and relaxing, and also very well equipped. Also many thanks for the bottle of wine you left in the fridge - it was very welcome after a long journey!

This was my first trip to Italy, and Florence was the first city I went to in Italy. The apt was very nice, lots of room and very clean. Close to the apt is a grocery store and several fantasic places to eat. I was amazed at how close we were to Central Florence, about a 5 minute walk to the Uffizi Gallery! The San Nicollo area was very safe and quite, a bit off the main path, so very little traffic. The place was great!

Very safe area, very short walk across scenic bridge into the bustling heart of Florence. Taxi and bus service is also nearby. The agent is very helpful, prompt and speaks English very well. The apartment was roomy for us (3/4)with two bathrooms, equipped kitchen, entry, living area with telephone, PC with DSL internet, TV and DVD player, jet-tub(small shower), master bedroom. So much, much better than a hotel room!
