Your Parisian 'Home' Away From Home...

Guest: Aunt Denise, Haley and Kelsey (Brooklyn, NY)
Date of Stay: 09/29/11 Review Submitted: 10/10/11

I recently took my two nieces on their first visit to Paris for their 16th birthday(s). I was looking for an alternative to the usual, mediocre tourist hotels and this beautiful apartment was it. The unit is even more lovely and spacious than the photos portray, with a comfortable bed (which my nieces nicknamed ‘the cloud’) and a wonderful trundle daybed in the main living area. Although we were a party of 3, this unit would sleep 4 comfortably. There’s even a beautiful view (thru the trees) of Sacre Coeur out the window of the main salon. The building has a lift (which is no small luxury in a Parisian apartment of this era), and is a block walk to the Anvers Metro stop on the 2 line. Although this area of the 9th is largely residential (and therefore, quiet), there is a wealth of cafes, restaurants, shops, patisseries, markets, etc just outside the doorstep. It is only a 10-15 minute walk to the Opera and main shopping districts. This is a great option for the first time visitor to Paris as well as the seasoned traveler. The owner is located in the US, which helped with the payments (no need to get foreign money orders or bank transfers) and key collection. She also provided a wealth of information about the apartment, neighborhood, local customs, English speaking services etc. She is very responsive to your questions or concerns and very helpful. In addition to comfort location and size, this beautiful pied-a-terre is a great value a well. Consider it for your next trip to Paris.

Pied-A-Terre Extraordinaire

Date of Stay: 08/24/10 Review Submitted: 09/20/10

My stay was August 2010 for a period of one week. The decision to vacation in Paris was very last minute and the owner was accomodating to the urgency of the arrangements. Contract and keys were expedited and all was arranged very efficiently. The property itself was very clean, very comfortable and very quickly we felt right at home. The building housing the property was well maintained and we felt safe at all times in both the building and the location within Paris. The Metro was literally one short blocks walk past a small park that was directly in front of the building. From the Metro, Paris and the surrounding areas were at our finger tips. Most mornings I woke to the smell of fresh bread being baked at the bakery on the corner across the street. The markets were close enough to walk when we needed to shop as well as two nice restaurants within one half block of the property. The only thing lacking was a nice shop to purchase cigars but I'm sure it existed somewhere in the area. WiFi was available and after a few attempts the connection was there! We took the Metro and the train to CDG both on arrival and departure without a problem of any kind. I would recommend this property and the owners for their courtesy and insuring my stay was successful. One positive for U.S. residents is the owners reside on the West coast so having access to the property keys and necessary paperwork through the USPS was convenient. I have been invited to return for another stay by the owners and I will return.

Wonderful pied-a-terre!

We stayed here for a week and it was the perfect apartment - centrally located so we could hop on the metro to see all the tourist attractions, yet in the heart of a Parisian neighbourhood so that we could get a taste of what it is like to live like a local. The beds were very comfortable, the towels were plush and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook fantastic meals.
