Tall shuttered windows bathe each room with light and provide breathtaking south-facing views. The parking is private and shaded. PLEASE NOTE; CHANGE-OVER DAY IS FRIDAY.
NEW For 2012. an opportunity to join an art class whilst you are here; 5 mornings, English speaking expert tuition, oils or acrylic; Produce an amazing reminder of your stay in the beautiful Dordogne valley, all material provided.
The spacious sitting room has French doors to the covered dining area and the terrace, south- facing views across the Dordogne valley, comfortable upholstered furniture, TV, DVD, and a wood-burning stove for those cooler evenings in the early spring and late autumn. Wireless ADSL included
5 comfortable en suite bedrooms, individually furnished in country house style and contain a mixture of English and French antiques. Three of the rooms have stunning south-facing views across the verdant Dordogne valley.
Outside, the top terrace is easily accessed from the kitchen and sitting room and contains both dining furniture and a barbeque, making this the perfect place to stargaze on those balmy summer evenings. An ancient vine-edged staircase leads you down to the exclusive swimming pool, set in a sunny terrace, flanked by fragrant flower beds, lawns and vines, with unique panoramic vistas over the Valley of the Five Châteaux.
Please note the garden terraces are linked by a number of stone staircases and are finished by low walls installed when the house was built in 1860. This gives us the feeling that it really is not the place for very young children, but it is at your discretion.

My apologies to the owner, Anne, for not writing this review sooner, but I believe better late than never. Our party of 5 adults stayed here last summer and we had a fabulous time. Chateau Nineyrol is a large manor house that has been lovingly restored by the owners. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom, although some of the showere stalls are quite petite, we were all glad to have ensuite facilties. We had a couple of days of very hot weather, but the house stayed cool and each room had a fan that kept us very comfortable. The photos are very accurate. Having a pool was a bonus on the hot days. The highlight of the house is the view; it's so beautiful and it's magical to see the Chateau of Castelnau lit up at night and to see hot air balloons float past in the early morning or evenings. We had a birthday clebration while there, and Chef Dimitri cooked us a beautiful meal. We loved it so much that we had him come back a second time to cook for us. Althought the house is quite close to a road, we found it very quiet and private. There is a folder in the kitchen which is full of information and restaurant reccommendations, we found this very helpful. Do try and have a meal at the Plume D'Oie in nearby La Roque, it was one of the best meals we had in France. The location of the house is very central and made it easy to explore the region. The market in Sarlat was amazing and we went back to Sarlat a second time when it wasn't market day to do more sight seeing and found some nice boutiques and took advantage of the summer sales. It really is a beautiful area of France, we all absolutely fell in love with it. In fact I'm returning for another visit this summer it was so much fun being there! The owner is very helpful and whenever we had any problems, she was very prompt in addressing them. The place is kept very clean, the kitchen is very well equiped and there are heaps of dishes and glasses. Since the place is sorrounded with greenery and the river is not far away, there were mosqitos in the evening, so come prepared with your favourite bug spray. I would reccommend this place for anybody traveling in a group.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

We are five couples, all seasoned travelers in France, who had a wonderful two weeks at Chateau Nineyrol. This is a great location in the center of the Dordogne with easy access to everything, The chateau is very comfortable with en suite baths for each bedroom, huge well equipped kitchen, large dining room and spacious sitting room. The view from the terrace is fantastic. On a typical day we ate breakfast and dinner in the chateau and one meal out while sight seeing. The weather in late September was excellent. On a number of days we were content to just stay at the chateau and relax. It's that pleasant. The owner, Anne Penfold was very attentive to our needs and quite helpful in making our stay a great success. We have stayed in other rentals in France but none better than this.We all highly recommend Chateau Nineyrol.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

Our 3-generation family plus rotating friends thought Chateau Nineyrol our best-ever vacation rental. The house is lovely and comfortable, with the luxury of a private bath for each of the five bedrooms. We enjoyed local attractions to which we could walk and easy drives to the major tourist destinations of the Dordogne River countryside. We spent more time at the Chateau than we had anticipated because it was situated in such a lovely spot and so comfortable for a large family group. We enjoyed shopping the many local markets for fresh local foods and had a special treat of a day with the French Chef recommended by the owner of the property. The listing was accurate and the owner was gracious and available next door to assist us when we had questions about the area. Everyone in our group thought our time at Chateau Nineyrol was the best vacation we had ever had, bar none.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.

Why the Owner Chose Sarlat-la-Canéda:
One of the finest locations in the Dordogne Valley and indeed, France.
Just in case you haven't noticed, our change-over day is Friday. Perfect to be able to visit the great market in Sarlat on Saturday Morning.
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
The property is in the centre of the most beautiful corner of the Dordogne with easy access to everything that the area has to offer. We have a private chef for you to enjoy. But more than anything it was the view across the valley that stole my heart.
