Location: Paris Arrondissement 11, Paris, Ile-de-France (Paris Area), France, Europe

Accommodations:  Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-3)

APARTMENT: Located within a secure (digicode at the entrance door) Parisian building, this 35 meter apartment is situated on the 4th (5th U.S) floor. The apartment has been recently renovated and the floors refinished and although without an elevator, it is nonetheless an easy walk up. With parquet floors, two fireplaces, large windows and mouldings, it undoubtedly encapsulates the quintessential charm of a French apartment.

The living room has a fireplace, a sofa-bed, a dining table with three chairs, and the kitchen is fully equipped. The bedroom also has a fireplace, a double bed, a bedside table and a large armoire/wardrobe. The bathroom has a sink, bath/shower and a washing machine, while the WC/toilet is located just off the entry hall.

One of the most appealing factors of the location of Rue Sedaine is that, although it is within easy access to many popular areas, it is essentially tourist free, thus allowing one to truly experience the Parisian day to day life.

AREA: 4 Rue Sedaine is located in a vibrant Parisian neighborhood, just moments from Place de La Bastille, and minutes walk from the Marais, Place de la Vosges and Place de la Republique. The apartment is just about a 10/15 minute walk to the seine.
In the Bastille neighborhood there are a multitude of attractions including the new Opera House, while along Rue de Lappe and Rue de la Roquette, you will find some of the trendiest restaurants and cafes in Paris - patisseries and boulangeries are just some of the wonderful shops to be found also along these streets.
Close to Rue Sedaine, on Boulevard Richard Lenoir, is a very popular open-air food market which is open every Sunday and Thursday mornings, while on Saturday the same locations is host to an eclectic an arts and crafts market.

Other cultural activities in this neighborhood include the Picasso Museum and the Cimetiere Perre Lachaise (where such luminaries as Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf and Jim Morrison lay in rest). Also of interest in the 11th, and makes for a pleasant morning or afternoon walk is the Promenade Plantee, which lays above a 19th Century railroad viaduct.

The Promenade Plantee runs for about three miles through Eastern Paris from Place de la Bastille to the Bois de Vincennes. Just below the Promenade, within the arches of the viaduct you will find an array of artisan’s workshops and galleries.

Other Features: FREE Wi-Fi and FREE TELEPHONE CALLS to the U.S. and most European countries.

    • My sister and i stayed at this lovely apartment last month for a week. What a find!! We fell in love with it. Everything was perfect. The location, the apartment, the people and of course Paris. The apartment is so cute, we shrieked for joy when we arrived. Everything you need is at the doorstep, the metro, lovely cafes and restaurants and the open air market at the weekend. The upscale Marais district is so close. If your looking for a very reasonably priced apartment in a lovely location and want to experience true Paris, i would highly recommend rue sedaine. We cant wait to go back!

    • I am a writer and love this apartment so much so that I wrote about it in my book. The apartment is charming and in a fabulous location very close to the Bastille Metro entrance. Carl was wonderful, very accomodating and helpful. More than I expected and perfect.

    • This place was fantastic! My wife and I rented this apartment for 3 weeks for our honeymoon, and it was perfect. It's in a phenomenal location and we would definitely think about returning some day! For a relaxing stay in a great neighborhood in Paris, you'd be a fool to pass this up.

    • I have been a Parisian for 8 years now and I have to say this apartment is a gem. It is centrally located. Steps to almost anything you need. The Bastille market, shopping, metro, bus... you are connected. The apartment is well equipped, internet, telephone and a great kitchen. The bed, super comfy. It's light and airy. A rare find in Paris. My family stayed here for 4 months and were happy as can be!

    • I stayed here in May 07 and it is a wonderfully Parisian Apartmtent with all the comforts of home including free phone calls and internet! Right on the doorstep was a fabulous farmers market with everything from bread to fish to cheese etc. On Saturdays there's a very original craft market (check out the guy who makes sculptures from old motor bikes and fridges). Location is brilliant. The apt is minutes walking distance to several metro stops, and loads of buses too, which are a great way to get around the city. It's five minutes to night life of bars, clubs, restaurants, quirky shops etc (Rue de la Lappe) but yet the apt does not have late night bustle or noise. Very safe and not touristy. I got the real feeling of the way the Parisian's live. The Bastille area with opera house is practically on the door step too. The price of the apt was very good value also. I can't wait to go back and discover more of the hidden Paris. A Bientót!

    • I really recommend this apartment! The location is perfect - it is so close to the Marais, and there is a gorgeous open air food market literally outside the door on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The apartment is really cosy and very Parisian! We had a great time..
