Four Self-Catering Apartments, Steps to Grafton Beach
- Minimum stay:N/A

Available accommodation: "Warm Breezes" -- the three-bedroom, two-bath luxury suite with private pool(sleeps six); "The Artist's Studio" -- perfect for a young family; an adjoining (or separate) one-bedroom apartment with fantastic sea view; "Sweet Nest" -- Cozy Cottage with private verandah, which is separate and self-contained, an ideal honeymoon suite.
"Hibiscus Heights" can be booked as a whole unit, or individually as separate apartments. It is located in the Grafton area, on a scenic ridge overlooking the Caribbean Sea, away from the crowds of the lower-lying tourist districts. Crown Point Airport is a 10-minute drive away, but owners of this home are pleased to greet and personally see off their guests. Car rentals can also easily be arranged beforehand.
At "Hibiscus Heights" each living area or self-contained rental unit has a telephone, wireless access, cable TV, a lock-box for valuables, house-keeping included, and all kitchens are fitted and equipped with modern appliances and utensils. There are overhead fans in every room; split level air-conditioning units have also recently been installed in all the bedrooms, for those who just can't sleep without it. This is an ideal setting, not to mention the most economical choice, for large groups who want to be close but at the end of the day still have their own space.
Why has Tobago been hailed worldwide as a premiere 'eco-tourism' destination?
Well, Tobago is not a volcanic island like most of the other Caribbean islands. Once a part of South America, many of the same species of plants and animals found on that continent abound here. So - whether you're biking or 'booting it' through Tobago's majestic rain forests, strolling along one of the island's many sanctuary trails, or simply reflecting amidst the radiant colors of Scarborough's well-groomed Botanic Gardens - you'll see: beautiful beaches are only a small part of what this tropical isle has to offer.
Its exquisite reefs are home to an explosion of marine life, making the best diving and snorkeling experiences frequent happenings in and around Tobago's waters.
Since 1776, the island's Main Ridge Forest Reserve has been legally protected, making it the first tropical rainforest to be legally protected in the western hemisphere.
Tobago is one of the few places left in the world to which six species of endangered and "critically" endangered sea turtles return, each spring, to lay their eggs.
Yes ... Islanders really have every right to be proud. But boastful? Never! Tobagonians are far too modest, a truly happy-go-lucky people who have become so used to sharing their home with visitors that they know how to be welcoming without being intrusive.
Warning, Warning: the pace here is relaxed, far from frantic, with people actually taking the time to wish you a good morning and 'night'. Be prepared, yet rest assured: Tobago is also a place where you will find most of your back-home favorites, plus fine wines and premium alcohol, in the larger grocery stores.
Description of units available for long or short-term rental:
ON THE TOP LEVEL - offering spacious living for six people, this impressive three-bedroom, two-bath villa has a huge wrap-around verandah (over 125 ft.) for viewing the turquoise sea, and old-time wooden shutters with high ceilings for catching the warm breezes.
The large and airy master bedroom has a king-sized bed, walk-in closet, and en-suite bathroom. The other two guest bedrooms have queen-sized beds, high ceilings, and are also quite roomy. All beds are four-poster - very romantic - with firm mattresses for many restful sleeps.
There is an open living/dining area and the kitchen is immaculate.
All rooms are tastefully decorated, many pieces of furniture having been hand-made by craftsmen in the region.
There is a swimming pool at the back, surrounded by a sun-terrace, to which guests of this top villa have exclusive access. Set off the kitchen and equipped with a comfy patio set and loungers, it is ideal for al fresco dining after dark.
ON THE SECOND/GROUND LEVEL - there are two self-contained apartments - a spacious artist's studio; the other, the one-bedroom apartment, has a fantastic seaview.
Separate Accommodation on property also available: A cozy self-contained cottage sits snuggled in its own mini banana plantation, a perfect honeymoon suite. Especially since booking "Hibiscus Heights" as a whole unit would certainly leave you lots to spend on a Caribbean reception. Why not go for one of those "theme" weddings -- underwater, maybe? -- which have recently become so popular and that are now being offered in the area?

We had the pleasure of staying at Sea Breeze at Hibiscus Heights for two weeks in late April, early May 2011. Stunning location and absolutely beautiful space to our family to relax and luxuriate in. We have a young child who loved the pool and taking naps in the hammock. The service that Paul and Jill provided was excellent – very high standards. It was my first time to Tobago – Paul took the trouble everyday to suggest restaurants and places of interest, things to do etc. He even drove us to the Annual Goat Races where we happened to make it on to the 7pm news. The local area where Hibiscus Heights is located is also fantastic. I really suggest buying your fruit every morning from Mervyn’s fruit stand at the bottom of the road. Also, dinner at the Fish Pot is a must as well as take away Caribbean food from Joanne’s stand. All located a few minutes from the Heights. As far as excursions, make a visit to Eamonn – two villa’s away up the hill and let him take you out on a guided tour of the Island by bicycle. It’s safe and his bikes are in mint condition. Also a very special way to see Tobago where the cars don’t go. We also recommend Horseback riding in the ocean and on the beach with Healing Touch Horses in Bucoo. We had never been on horses before and found this a very special experience. To complete your stay – you must book a day cruise on the catamaran called Island Girl and go to the snorkeling spots and hidden bays that are only accessible by boat. It is worth noting that we only rented a car for 2 days out of the entire 2 weeks we were there as Hibiscus Heights is so central and you can walk to 2 of the best beaches in Tobago. Whatever you wish, Paul will be on call to make your trip a very memorable holiday of a lifetime. As was ours. We are already planning to go back. • Denise Parkinson, Paul Robinson – London, EnglandDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Robin Matthews from U.K. visited in April 2011 and awarded Hibiscus Heights is perfect. A stone's throw (and walkable) from arguably one of Tobago's nicest beaches, Grafton, it is perfectly located to explore anywhere on this gem of an Island. It has an excellent aspect, wonderful view over the sea, a small but perfectly adequate and very refreshing pool, spacious accommodation and an exemplary maid service. From here, you have easy access to Pigeon Point, Turtle watching (when in season and not to be missed) and Buccoo reef. In the latter case, 'CJ' is the only man to go with. Ask around when you are there and you will find him. A whole host of other things to do: bird sanctuary Near to the house (walking distance again) is an excellent but expensive restaurant 'The Fish Pot', but better and ludicrously good value, local and tasty is 'Joanne's Finger Lickin' Food' is first rate - takeaway only. Pizza boys a couple of doors down not bad for hungry kids either. Small supermarket here too. Always feels like a bit of a gamble doing it over the internet, but look no further, this is the place: perfectly located, good value, well run and just really nice. We would go again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Tracey Jennings from Australia visited in March 2011 and awarded Well, can I just say that the first words that came out of my mouth when I walked into the room were..."I could sooooo live here!!! I love it! Thank you for creating this awesome space!" The "Artist Studio" was such a pleasure and joy to stay in. And I stayed in alot, lol. It was a wonderful refuge at the end or beginning of my day. With only a few steps away from the "Pleasant Prospect"...this one is a very happy girl. Thank you Gill and Paul for an uninterrupted pleasant stay. I'm booking in again already!!!! Thanks again, TraceyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jenny from Trinidad visited in March 2011 and awarded We spent six night at Hibiscus Heights during the Carnival period, What first caught my attention was the spectacular view of the ocean from the warp around veranda, the openness of warm breezes, nice clean surroundings, the location of the property, basically all convenience around. Our party occupied the entire place and each occupant enjoyed their unit. Having Grafton beach in walking distance was a plus, we enjoyed our time their, and if you love to exercise, the walk to the beach is a good workout. Our host Paul and Gill, were always ready to help with our request. Hibiscus heights is a beautiful Guest House which I can recommend to anyone, especially families. Visited Sweet Nest in February 2011 This was our second stay at Hibiscus Heights, this time we occupied the Sweet Nest - a charming cottage located by the entrance of the property. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is situated in a good location, close to all beautiful beaches. It was also very handy to be near local food shops, restaurants, ATM etc... The apartment caters for all and has everything a person needs to have a good stay, long or short. We loved Sweet Nest. Everything went perfectly and we really didn't want to leave when the time came. We would like to thank Paul, Gill and Nekeisha for their hospitality and making sure our holiday was one of the best we had so far !!! Will we be back? You bet! Would we recommend this place? Absolutely! Agata & Robert LondonDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Rose And John Arndt from U.S.A. visited in November 2010 and awarded We thoroughly enjoyed our three-week stay in Warm Breezes in November of 2010. The house was beautiful and very spacious for five people. It was very clean and well stocked with appliances, kitchen ware, etc. Our maid Dixie who came six days a week was efficient and pleasant. We rented a car through Paul's friend who delivered it right to the house. The location was perfect. The ocean view was spectacular and the closest beach was one of the best on the island. It was quiet and scenic with convenient Buccaneer Bar right on the beach. The small market and a few restaurants were right there at Pleasant Prospect. Joanne's was a hit with her authentic Tobagan dinners. Mt. Irvine Bay, my surfer son's favorite beach, was within walking distance. The island was beautiful, laid back, a tropical paradise. The Tobagonians were quite friendly and helpful. Paul was a gracious host and was a great source of information about everything on the island. He picked us up at the airport and visited with us occasionally. We loved our very relaxing stay there and highly recommend it to others. RosanneDid you find this review helpful? Visited Sweet Nest and Corner View in November 2010 Thanks a lot to Paul, who cared so well for us!!! We felt very, very comfortable during our stay. We had one nice week in Sweet Nest, which is definitely the right name, and two weeks in Corner View, which we liked even better. The view of the balcony is awesome and so our breakfast took more time every day than we planed. Both apartments are lovely furnished and clean and Corner View is incredible huge with an own washing machine!! We have been on Tobago for Kitesurfing and it took us 15-20 minutes to get to “Pigeon Point”, which is the main kitesurfing spot. But it was also very nice to explore the island by car. We have been to tons of places and had great swims in the waterfall pools. During our stay we saw some other apartment houses and we never regret our decision to stay at Hibiscus Heights, which is definitely the best place! Visited Corner View in October 2010 Many thanks for an absolutely fantastic stay. We truly loved the Corner View apartment. After 4 visits to the island we can honestly say that you guys provided the best base for us in all aspects. Our only regret is that our vacation was just way too short.
