Florida Keys Bayfront Hideaways with Sailboat
- Minimum stay:3 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Our bayfront hideaway cottages are located in the middle Keys on a small island called 'Conch Key'. The island is the smallest island in the Keys. It is reminiscent of a quaint Bahamian lobster fishing village, with colorful cottages nestled closely together. Rustic wharves are charmingly cluttered with lobster traps, nets, and fishing gear. There is a well kept secret that lobster and fish are both plentiful. Back country fishing and off shore sport fishing are readily available.
Our ideal location, in the middle Keys, will allow you to visit both Key West and Key Largo, each approximately one hour away.
We have two waterfront cottages available (and one waterview) and do offer a 23' foot sailboat for qualified sailors. Our units are impeccably clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated.
Since 1988, we have taken pride in the fact that we have the cleanest, most well-maintained accomodations in the Florida Keys!

From start to finish these folks do everything right and seem to have fun doing it. The owners (Capt. Tom & Peggy) and the managers (Danny & Michele) respond quickly to any questions you have and treat you like guests in their home. We stayed in the Treetop Cottage and sailed, explored neighboring keys as well as Key West, hiked and just hung out on our balcony drinking champagne in the morning and cocktails/wine in the evenings. Life is very good on Conch Key. We stocked up on food and drink in Marathon, ate lobster Reuben sandwiches at Key Fisheries, then bought shrimp and crab cakes at their market to cook at home. The sailing is shoal water, but Danny’s check-out and charts helped immensely. The weather was a balmy 80 degrees and sunny---a far cry from the Pacific Northwest in February! If you want a comfortable, clean, well equipped cottage surrounded by palm trees, glorious sunsets, warm water, good times, and even neighbors who offer you oranges for fresh juice, this is the place for you.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I spent four great days in this lovely cottage with my friend Steve and Jo-Ann. The sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, hiking, bike rides and daily walks were great. Sitting on the dock and watching the beautiful Florida sunset and the starry nights were exhilarating. If you're an early riser, you can also experience the beautiful sunrise. There is plenty to do, with very nice beaches, sightseeing, food, restaurants and bars. Everything in the cottage is in very good shape and well maintained. The locals on Conch Key were very friendly. Capt. Tom was very friendly and went out of his way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. I would recommend this place if you want to rest, relax and do some exciting outdoor activities!!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

Where troubles are left behind in your wake. Where old friends meet to enjoy life together. Where the sun shines until your teeth show white against a tanned face. The sea, the wildlife and the sun setting as the sailboat turns in towards the cottage for an afternoon toast at the water's edge to thoughtful, helpful and attentive hosts and new friends. Days that do not end until the stars come out at night to be counted like the timeless, savored memories made here. A place to sail to where we all wish to be.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

I spent 5 days at this lovely cottage to do some sailing with an old high school friend. We had a great time. The sailboats, docks and cottages are in good shape and well maintained. The cottage we stayed in had some neat and interesting decor. Old outboard engines and boating stuff. Tom and Peggy were friendly hosts and made you feel at home. Other people on Conch Key were also pleasant and friendly. Plenty of stuff to see around the area with good seafood restaurants. Would definitely recommend this place if you want to relax and do some sailing.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What a great place and wonderful hosts. This is not your typical 'sterile' resort by any means. We fit right in and enjoyed all that was available to us at this quaint and 'quirky' little island cottage and village. A sailboat with every cottage, bicycles, private docks and friendly accomodating hosts make this the perfect place to relax on and off the water. Novice sailors will enjoy daysailing in Florida Bay on the gulf side. Experienced sailors, in a good breeze (15 - 20 mph) can sail 'west' and dock at a restaurant in Marathon for lunch or sail 'east' to reach the bridge providing access to the Atlantic. The Long Key State Park is a 3 mile bike ride away with excellent hiking, fishing, swimming, etc. Perhaps the best part of our stay was the people we met. From our hosts, owners Tom and Peggy and their property managers Kim and Larry to the local fishermen on the tiny 10 acre island, the last remaining active fishing village in The Keys. Everyone made us feel welcomed and part of the Conch Key family. In our 5 week stay in the eccentricly decorated, 2 bedroom cottage named Conched Out, we were able to invite various friends and family to visit at different times through the weeks and enjoy the island's community life and sailing. Wildlife was abundant and as close as our back porch and dock including a visit from a manatee. The general store (5 min. walk) has a boat ramp, ice, groceries and additional accomodations in their attached motel (in case Tom has rented his other adjacent places, the 'Treetop' and 'Studio' (each 1 bed room). The Dolphin Research Center (not to be missed) is a 5 min. drive south on Rt. 1 as well as diving shops, charters rentals, restaurants, shopping etc. We returned home with much more than a tan! The memories and friendships we made will last a lifetime. Thanks again, Tom, Peggy, Larry and Kim. You made our stay very special indeed.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

We have stayed at this property twice and would highly recommend it to anyone. We like to sail and this setup was perfect. We would typically go sailing for a half day and then go sight seeing for the other half day. Then get up and do it again the next day. What a life!. The accommodations were always clean and comfortable and our hosts were great people who always took an interest in us and made sure we had everything we needed. There are lots of fun activities to enjoy in the area including snorkeling, scuba diving, exploring state parks, and museums. We even found a place to go for a ride in a jet fighter simulator! And needless to say, there is an endless array of excellent seafood restaurants nearby. Or you can buy some fresh seafood and cook it yourself on the charcoal grill. It's a scenic drive to Key West which has lots of great restaurants and points of interest. This is the most fun place we have ever vacationed and we will be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
