The location is private with magnificent views. There are only two houses on Blueberry Lake, Sanctuary and the Cottage on Blueberry Lake.
There are special details at every distinguishable turn. The furnishings are soft, subtle, and comfortable, and there is natural light pouring in from every direction. The living room and dining room are light and open and perfect for entertaining. Including TV, VCR, DVD, stereo, phones in most bedrooms, wireless internet. The chef's kitchen has everything you need for simple to gourmet cuisine. The decor of the house is Asian and each room is themed with special accents.
Owner Rita Brown who founded Vermont Country Weddings and The Mad River Music Festival has an extensive background in the wedding and event planning industry in Vermont over the past 20 years. The grounds at Sanctuary accommodate weddings for two to 100 persons, over 40 persons are outdoors in our Lakeside Post and Beam Pavilion and custom-made tents. The property has colorful flower gardens, patios, decks, arbors, and lake and mountain views. The optional catering and cuisine at Sanctuary is created with integrity and visual beauty, using local, organic produce. The staff is attentive, friendly, and professional. Rita handles every detail to allow total enjoyment and a relaxed memorable experience.

What a great place this is for a quiet, secluded getaway in the beautiful Vermont woods! You won’t hear any street noise here, but you might see moose crossing the yard on their way to the lake. Enjoy the fresh mountain air as you sit in the screened-in porch or in the hot tub on the deck. Walk down the path to the lake and float away in a canoe or kayak and wait for the fish to bite. Take a hike through the forest. I even heard that in season, you can pick berries—just the thing for a bear—and thinking about homemade cobbler makes me hungry. For winter visitors, you’ll be glad to know that the ski slopes are just seven miles away. You won’t run out of things to do during any season in this wonderful location!
This home has an excellent floor plan throughout. The kitchen/dining/living area on the main floor has windows all around for views of the lake and woods. Bring your own books, or choose one from the bookshelves just inside the entryway door, and spend some time reading in front of the fire or sitting in the beautiful window seat. The bedrooms are well located for convenience and privacy, and the beds are comfortable. The master suite is outstanding with its fireplace and Jacuzzi. The loft would be a real hit with kids to spend time and a great place an adult to enjoy some quiet time. The fully-equipped kitchen has all you need to prepare any meal, but if you prefer to eat out, don’t worry—there is a good selection of restaurants nearby.
