This rustic cottage is situated in the woods beside a lovely flowing stream. The outside second story deck is its best feature. The fact that there are stairs to climb to the main floor should be included in the details for this cottage. We needed extra sheets and garbage bags and the property manager responded promptly. Unfortunately, we also needed the cottage to be treated for fleas. We love the Brevard area, but we won't be back to this cottage.

We decided to head out of town for a relaxing Thanksgivng get away. The property is even nicer than the photo's show. It was a pleasant surprise to find it had two stories which felt like separate areas for our two couples in attendance. The main living room was cozy, yet spacious. Loved the firplace. The hot tub was wonderful! Enough room for us all to enjoy at the same time, very relaxing to enjoy and listen to the nearby stream. We loved our stay and look forward to future travels to Stoney Brook!

This is the first time we've used VRBO, and I'm very impressed by the process. We were very comfortable, and the cottage had everything we needed. The setting was beautiful, just as described. We would recommend this property and we would certainly stay here again! We spent time in Brevard, hiked in the Dupont State Forest and the Pisgah National Forest.

Our trip to Brevard was just wonderful. We spent our honeymoon at the Stoney Brook Cottage and loved every minute! The cottage's setting the Rhododendron and trees was very nice and to hear the stream every morning having coffee on the deck was very memorable. I will never forget out times there. Make sure you visit DuPont State Forest down the road- great waterfall hiking! Can't wait to return!

We came for the color and were not dissappointed! We have enjoyed the quiet and the views. The hot tub was a big hit with us of course. We keep hearing that this area is the area to retire in, well, it is very tempting. We will be back. There is so much to see and do, that we just didn't have time for. Next visit! Thanks! Thanks for helping us have a terrific time here. This is our second stay at a Cranmore Cottage and once again, it was great! The location was perfect for us. We mountain biked in Pisgah and DuPont. We love Brevard (dinner at HobNob was splendid). We also went to Asheville one day. Stoney Brook Cottage had everything we needed. Thanks, Pat and Robert Athens, GA

You have done a lovely job of fixing up this cottage. It is so nicely furnished and so well stocked. It also is a great location for the area. We were able to hike the Pink Beds, Hooker, Triple and High Falls, John's Rock, and Sam's Knoll. We also loved the town of Brevard. We have most of all enjoyed the amazing fall color on our road trips and hikes. The location was great and we cannot imagine anything more spectacular. Thank you for providing us with a place we could feel at home and relax as we catch up with each other. Dean and Karen Parker Mortoo, IL

Thank you for having us at your cottage. We really enjoyed it. The evenings in the hot tub by the babbling brook were especially relaxing. The cottage was cozy and in a great location. We highly recommend the Biltmore Estate and the wine tasting there. We loved the closeness of the cottage to all the waterfalls as well. We look forward to a return visit.

We stayed the wek of Thanks giving in this unit. It is old and needs a lot of work. One shower did not work. The toilets all ran after flushing and had to be stopped manually. Two calls to the rental agent resulted in no action. I would never recommmend this property or the rental agent to anyone. The description of the property is very misleading. The pictures are very old in the promotional literature. On the positive side, the beds are comfortable. The road to the property is good. If a family with disabilities rented this unit they would have an issue with access.
Owner response:We promptly sent someone to address the toilet and shower issues for the guest. The guest even called us to acknowledge that we had been there. The description and photos are extremely accurate and if anything could be much better. Our cottage is family owned and operated and we take great pride in our Stoney Brook Cottage because it is a special place and we have had hundreds of satisfied guests. Many have stayed more than once. We love all our guests....some more than others:)

We have stayed twice here in Stoneybrook. We love this cabin with it's covered deck, stream and abundance of rhododendron. The cabin is perfectly equipped so that we have everything we need. We love the perfect location of Stoney Brook. On our first visit, we hikedto 2 gorgeous waterfalls - Hooker Falls and Triple Falls. Both were awesome and so close by! We hope to return again soon!

We are here on our honeymoon! We've really enjoyed the cottage. The view is beautiful. I loved the trees all around us. We also enjoyed the hot tub and fire place - very romantic. I love the lavendar bathroom. We spent time exploring the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah Forest and downtown Brevard. We only had one rainy day and used it to really enjoy the fireplace. We will definately be back to this area. We were engaged on our trip here in April '08 and now had our honeymoon here. Thank you!

We just spent a week at the Stoney Brook Cottage and enjoyed every minute! The setting is perfect, next to the stream and nestled in the trees and Rhododendron. We spent most of our time there. We did visit DuPont State Forest and Pisgah National Forests to See the waterfalls and sliding rock. We also went gem mining in Hendersonville. We even got to see one of the wild white squirrels!

We celebrated our 28th anniversary at Stoney Brook and have enjoyed every moment of our stay. Very comfortable and a great location. We have visited close to 30 waterfalls nearby and also went hot-air valooning. DuPont State Forest was incredible and just a couple miles away! Thanks for supplying the locale; we'll definitely be back!

Thanks so much for sharing this cabin with our family. We had a great time catching up with each other in this comfortable atmosphere. The kids could play with no worries and we got to enjoy nights in and out (inBrevard, Hendersonville and Asheville). It was a long drive from Vermont but well worth it. Again, Thank you!
