The Kai Lanai is located in Hale Koolau, a family owned & operated group of ocean & beach front vacation rental homes in Honolulu, Hawaii located in the fishing town of Hauula on Oahu's North Shore near the Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay, Kualoa Ranch, and many other wonderful Oahu attractions. We are located approximately 45 minutes from Honolulu International Airport on the North East coast of Oahu; where the Ko’olau Mountains touch the Pacific Ocean.

The Kai Lanai is a fully air-conditioned oceanside home on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii located just 80 feet from the blue pacific. This is a spacious (1,500+ sf living area) three bedroom, two bath free standing home was recently remodeled (2006) with travertine stone floors throughout. The Kai Lanai features a complete Brand New, large and open, modern kitchen with Maple Cabinetry & Granite Countertops, a breakfast bar, sealed top stove/range, built-in microwave, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, and all the cooking utensils you need to prepare complete meals.
The living area is light and airy with tropical-style furniture. There is a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. The master suite is furnished with tropical furniture and a queen-size, pillow-top bed. The master bath features travertine stone floors & shower/tub. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and tropical furniture for an airy island feel. The third bedroom has two (2) twin size beds. All bedrooms have individually controlled air conditioning (mini-split) and tropical ceiling fans although they are rarely needed as this home enjoys cool tropical breezes year around. The Kai Lanai offers unparalleled luxury and proximity to the beach for an affordable price.
Enjoy relaxing on our expansive Oceanside yards just 80 feet away. Hale Ko’olau has over 400 linear feet of beach/oceanfront. There is plenty of area for sunbathing on the beach or on the grassy yard. Watch spectacular sunrises while soaking in one of our nearby hot tubs. Stroll down the beach to the Hauula beach park and coral preserve for some great snorkeling and swimming or take our ocean kayaks out for some adventure.

- Beachfront: This house is located on an oceanfront & beachfront property/compound, however this particular house is located just behind another, also owned by us (Hale Mauka & Hale Makai). The beach in front of the home is usually sandy, however sometimes adverse weather conditions have displaced the sand for several weeks at a time.
- Beach View: The Kai Lani is only 80 feet from the ocean through our property - no streets to cross. One of our other home is located between Kai Lani & Ocean.

- Ocean View: There is partial ocean view from one bedroom, however this home is just 80 feet from the ocean on our direct oceanfront/beachfront compound.
- Mountain View: The majestic Ko'olau Mountains can be seen from almost everywhere on our properties - the perfect backdrop for our Hawaiian beach homes.

Why the Owner Chose Hauula
Our family has owned and operated this business for two generations now. Originally our goal was to provide accommodations for people visiting family at BYU-Hawaii who wanted a more family-friendly atmosphere. We then realized the need for quality oceanfront vacation rentals at an affordable rate...this is our mission today, to provide quality, yet affordable, oceanfront vacation rentals on the North Shore of Oahu.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Guests who stay with us get more than just a place to sleep at night, they get their own beach house on the North Shore of Oahu. We have 450 linear feet of oceanfront property giving our guests plenty of room to lounge in the sun while being cooled down by the gentle breezes of the South Pacific Ocean. We also have four hot tubs on the property plus kayaks, boogie boards, snorkeling gear and complimentary high-speed internet. Each of our units come with full kitchens and 11 of them have air-conditioning. We are located four minutes from the Polynesian Cultural Center and Brigham Young University Hawaii. We are also located 20 minutes north of Kualoa Ranch and 15 minutes from Sunset Beach and the famous North Shore surfing beaches.
Within walking distance to Hale Ko’olau with a large grocery store and several restaurants, including the very popular Papa Ole’s Kitchen.
This is one of our favorite beach parks on O’ahu. Enjoy excellent sandy bottom swimming on this stunning and uncrowded beach.
Public Beach Park with pavilion and showers. Enjoy sandy bottom swimming beach protected by a barrier reef. Great place for small children to play and just a short walk from Hale Ko’olau.
Part of the state of Hawaii Parks & Recreations hiking system these trails are perfect for beginners and are considered “moderate”. The two loop trails offer excellent views of the beautiful coastlin

We have operated as Hale Koolau LLC for nearly a decade, however prior to this change of entity we operated the business as sole proprietors, accommodating thousands of guests over the years. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau of Hawaii with an A+ rating, member of the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, and have an "excellent" rating on TripAdvisor.
