We had a wonderful weekend at the condo! Everything was fresh and clean. This was our 3rd time staying here and we will return soon! The view is magnificent!

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Condo has just been freshly painted throughout, new carpet in master bedroom, wood floors in living area & cabinets are scheduled to be resurfaced on April 15. We request that guests who experience any problem to contact us immediately so that we may have the opportunity to address the issue while the guests are still there, further insuring their comfort and satisfaction. Our goal is to help our guests have the best vacation ever. This condo has one of the best views anywhere on the island.

Fernandina ocean view

Great view, but the unit is getting a little long in the tooth. It could use a good deep cleaning and a fresh coat of paint. No wireless, which was a real inconvenience for the guests that did not have 3G. Also no cable is available in the 2nd bedroom. We had to replace the batteries in the thermostat for the A/C. It would take only a few dollars from the owner to raise this rating from Average to Good. All that said, it was a good value using a winter rental rate and Fernandina Beach is a beautiful place.

We wish we had known about the battery. We have a wonderful service man who would have come by and taken care of this immediately. I apologize for any inconvenience. Jewel, We had a great week at your condo, loved the view, location, and the peace and quiet. Enjoyed visiting Fort Clinch, going into town and dining at the local resteraunts. The cfondo was clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The beach was also clean and not to crowded. We hope to return in the future.

I want to let you know what a wonderful time we had during our stay here. We had visited years ago and were pleased to see that the beach is as beautiful as ever. The unit we rented was great, very clean and the view is awesome! It was just like a home away from home, but with a much better view.Jewel, you are the best! I was impressed with the fact that I had your number and could call for any concerns. I would certainly recommend this as a vacation spot for anyone who loves the beach. We're already planning our next trip.Thanks for helping us have one the best vacations ever!

This condo has one of the best views on the island being built in the last dune right before you step onto the white, sandy beach. Only about 50 steps from the elevator to the beach. A nice pool, covered parking, new hardwood flooring in Living room, new carpeting in the Master bedroom. Convenient elevator & grocery carts for carrying items to and from your car. I am so very glad you enjoyed your vacation in my condo at Fernandina Beach, Fl. It truly is a special place with a special feeling of the laid back lifestyle of times gone by. Thanks a million. Cozy and Comfortable

My husband and I had a great time at this condo. We loved waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning and eating meals out on the deck. Walking to the beach was a breeze, and sitting next to the pool in the afternoons was refreshing (pool said it was heated, but it was not). I would recommend this condo to either a couple or family looking for a weekend away. One warning for future guests: make sure you start the laundry early since the washer and dryer are small and don't hold as many linens as a standard washer/dryer.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We stayed here two nights in May, 2010. The furniture was so filthy that we had to put sheets over the chairs just to sit and watch TV. The artificial plants and all the knick knacks are layered in dust. Also, we waited about three months for the refund of our damage deposit, and that was after contacting the owner twice. We complained about the dirt but the owner would not do anything to compensate us. (I should have been suspicious when the rave reviews I was reading were from years ago.) The view is great and the kitchen has all the utencils you need. So if you don't mind the filth and nobody in your party has allergies, you'll be fine. Oh, and they expect you to wash and dry all the linens before you leave--even though they have a cleaning fee. You are also expected to load and run the dishwasher. It is in the contract, so read the fine print.

Owner response: On May 2, 2010, complaintant called to reserve this condo. Stated she didn't want to be home during Mother's Day due to her recent loss & stated she was desparate to find a place to check in on May 4, 2010 that would accept her little dog. Summary of correspondence: May 2, 2010, this client called inquiring about vrbo.112129. I told her the condo needed the carpets cleaned & I had planned to do that on the dates she wanted. The condo had been really full as always & these were the only days I had available to get the carpets cleaned because starting May 8, 2010, the condo was booked solid until September 25, 2010. She insisted it would be all right if I would let her come as she couldn't find another condo at this late date that would accept her little pet. She wanted to check in on May 4, 2010 & was very eager to find something May 2, 2010, 4:39 pm, emailed her the registration/condo rules which included all charges & rules. I even reduced the amount of the security deposit for her. May 2, 2010, 6:43 pm, she emailed me back with acceptance of the agreement. May 3,2010, 11:06 pm, I emailed her that I would print out the agreement & charge her card which she had provided . There were no complaints about anything during their 2 day stay. June 3,2010, a whole month later, I rec. email from client regarding the charges and in her words, "found the charges odd". I sent her all correspondence plus another copy of the registration including the charges which had previously been emailed to her on May 2, 2010 that she had accepted. Her comment was "I believe there should be a substantial credit issued to us". If things were as bad as she stated, should she not have called when she checked in instead of waiting a full month? She had accepted the agreement in her eagerness to find a condo that would take her and her little dog and had the charges and condo rules in black and white sent to her prior to acceptance. Complaintant states that the condo is in her words "filthy". I invite anyone to visit this condo for an personal evaluation to see for yourself. I have repeat satisfied customers year after year. I pride myself in trying to help everyone have a wonderful vacation but sometimes it seems to be an impossibility. I believe this client is unhappy simply because I would not give her a full refund for her entire stay. Copies of all correspondence are available for review. Thank you for your time.

Ms. Jewel, Thank you for another GREAT girls weekend at the beach. We had a wonderful time. It was just what the Dr ordered. I could sit on the balcony for hours. Already looking forward to next year.

My wife, Peggy, along with our Peke, Soonie, spent a week in Oceans of Amelia during October. This is our second visit to one of Jewel's condos and we found both equally comfortable, clean and with great views. We are going back again in April 09 and will this time stay at her Captain's House condo again. I heartily recommend either of these condos.

My wife and I had a reservation beginning Sept 20th at Captain's house where we had stayed in April. Due to a family emergency we are not going to be able to go. Jewel has leaned over backwards to accommodate us at the last moment and has scheduled us for a week at Oceans of Amelia beginning October 11th. No one could ask for better cooperation from a property owner. We will continue to visit Amelia in the future and will continue to stay at one of Jewel's properties.

My sister and I brought our mother to visit the ocean from Colorado and had the most wonderful time. The condo was perfect…very clean and comfy. Thank you for giving us a place to create memories that will last a lifetime. We will definitely be back to stay in your little piece of paradise!!!
