  I rented both the Holland House and Westview Cottage for a large gathering and found the combination of the two worked very well. The properties are as described, incredibly convenient to town ( we did not find traffic to be an issue in October), and are well-equipped for any stay. The Holland House is older, but clean and well-appointed. We did not find the single full bath to be an issue. The Westview cottage is much newer and therefore more modern if that's your preference. Anne could not have been more helpful or accomodating. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

  My family and I stayed in the Holland House and was very pleased. The Holland House was clean, cozy and welcoming. We were able to bring our pets which was so convenient as well. The Holland House was fully equipped with everything one needed. The location of this home was awesome. Hannaford was within walking distance. It is a short drive to Acadia Park and within a 5-10 minute walk to downtown. I would consider renting this again in the future.

  Great house. Very comfortable and well equipped for our family. Excellent beds. Excellent TV. Walking distance to Bar Harbor, Shore Path, Bar Island, grocery store, restaurants. Would highly recommend.

  We just got back from a weeks stay at the westview cottage. It was perfect for us, nice clean and modern. The location was perfect, nice easy walk to downtown and the sand bar, also very close to the Acadia park loop road.... it took us no time at all to drive to Mount Cadillac to see the sunrise. The neighborhood is great and the food store close which was very convenient. We would definitely stay again.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, age 55+.

  My family (including a toddler) vacationed at the Westview cottage for 10 days and just loved it. The downstairs is completely comfortable and modern. The bedrooms were nice and perfect for what we needed. It is a great place for small children! In addition, Anne was completely helpful with everything which made us feel so comfortable. The cottage is located walking distance from everything you need- you can see the grocery store and organic grocery from the sliding doors and DT bar harbor is just a few blocks away! We had never used this site to rent a place before and I was nervous about it (we usually stay in hotels but with a little one it's becoming necessary to rent a several bedroom home/ apartment) but the experience was just WONDERFUL. Thank you so much! ....Oh, for those who are interested in doing lots of hikes- great location for that also- we did tons of great hikes in Acadia that were just a short car ride away. I would definitely recommend the Westview cottage to anyone!

  My husband and 3 year old had a mini break in Bar Harbor in late April. House was very comfortable and not prissy. I didn't feel I had to watch that my son was touching things and getting into mischief. The location of the house was great, walking distance to the water front and main street, though not a lot was open. Not a large choice on cable so I'd recommend that you bring dvd's or lots of books. The enclosed porch even on a cool day was a very pleasant place to read if the sun was out. Heating worked great too, which we were thankful for!

  This is a lovely place to stay if you want to be in walking distance of the harbor, cafes, and shops in Bar Harbor. The house is large and well appointed making our stay comfortable. The owners leave detailed info, as well as brochures on the area which made getting aquainted with Bar Harbor even easier. If you are looking for a convenient, in-town location, I would highly recommend this house. We plan on returning to it in the future!

  A spacious, comfortable home that had plenty of room for our four adults and a toddler. Good location in that downtown was very walkable--not to mention that the food store was just one block away. Liked having a dining room and large kitchen for family meals. Nice layout for family gatherings. Was clean and nicely painted. The owners were nice and very accommodating. We all liked it a lot and felt we would stay there again. A few nitpicky negatives: the low windows in the bedrooms made me nervous in terms of my toddler. My three-year-old stayed in the one bedroom and I really wish they had put safety bars across these windows. Also, one lamp in living room literally had to be unplugged to turn it off. The kitchen could have been better equipped. And the master bedroom had no nightstands and/or bedside lamps. Not great for those of us who like to read in bed. Small details, but considering the price, these would have been nice additions.Yet overall a good bet.
