The house has 3 bedrooms, each with its own full bathroom, a large living room, an open plan dining room and modern kitchen with new appliances. A media room with a half-bath attached offers Cable TV, internet, and stereo located on the fourth floor. Two terraces offer room for breakfast in the morning sun with views of Parliament and the Danube, or a drink at night at the end of your day looking over the city nightscape.
With the neighborhood green grocer across the street, and the buzzing mall a short walk away, it's easy to shop for yourself and save money for sumptuous dinners and a fun-filled night out. No need to worry about loud hotel guests or when the front desk closes. Room service is as simple as putting the kettle on.
The truth about apartments is that they are small, poorly furnished, and filled with neighbors who are not friendly to itinerant visitors. Experience living large in a townhouse instead, where you can come and go as you please!
Budapest is our second home when we're not working on Wall Street: It's where we go when we want to get away from it all and still have some fun. As busy investment bankers we wanted a place that was up to the standards of our Park Avenue Penthouse in New York City, and we spared no expense on the renovations! We often use Budapest as our home-away-from-home while in Europe, and travel from here to go skiing in Switzerland or to the beaches in Italy. Oftentimes, though, we'll end up extending our stay because we love exploring the city or going out to the country to spend time in our vineyard.
Since we can't be here all the time, and we love this place so much, we want to share the best of Budapest with others. This is a unique opportunity to take advantage of an Insider's access by living in a home that belongs to members of a noble family of the Hungarian Aristocracy.

Why the Owner Chose Budapest
With noble Eastern European ancestors in our lineage, buying a second home in Hungary was a way of reconnecting to our past after the fall of communism, and it's a direct flight from New York City where we live. Budapest has everything we love in a city, including a cafe society, fabulous opera in an intimate setting, and a river running gracefully through the center of it. Outside of town, where some of the old palaces are still intact, Hungary resembles the land that time forgot. The fall grape harvests are a sight to be seen, when all the locals dress up in traditional costumes and parade down country lanes in horse drawn carriages to celebrate the vendage.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhouse
Making new friends is part of the romance of spending time abroad. Hungarians are a warm people, and Budapest is becoming a destination for tourists. It's still old world, and the history of the country is evident all around you from the Roman ruins to the Ottoman mineral baths and the Palace of the Hapsburg Monarchy that are all near by. New restaurants pop up all the time between our visits, and it's hard to keep up with the latest trends. For a change of scene, though, we'll go out to the country where we keep a vineyard, to spend time with the locals, sail on Lake Balaton, go riding or hunting in the fall.

Although busy raising two children, we like to travel abroad and often bring the kids with us. Both speak Hungarian already, and help with translating when their father shops for food. Having grown up in London, living in a townhouse was a dream come true! Visiting Budapest is a family affair, and our parents often spend time here now that they're retired.
