This private home has 2,000 square feet of well-furnished and tastefully-decorated space, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, a full-size gourmet kitchen with breakfast area, formal dining area, Carolina room, and laundry/workroom all on one level. Lots of windows and a large living room skylight make the house sunny and light, yet offers plenty of privacy because of the surrounding lush foliage, flowers, and mature trees.
The house is set on a half acre, hidden among tall Carolina pines, and there's a large, new patio in the back with a golf view. It is the perfect ‘happy hour’ spot. We know what it takes to provide a comfortable “home-away-from-home”, as evidenced by the many positive comments in our guest book, as well as the number of return guests. Our house sleeps 7 and has high quality bedding, nearly new firm mattresses, and a king feathertopper in the second bedroom.

We are a non-smoking, no pets property.

Why the Owner Chose Oyster Reef (formerly Myrtle Bank)

We love the beautiful Hilton Head plantation community, which is a short drive away from the maddening crowds and noise of the oceanside beach condos. We can get to the beach in a matter of minutes, and we find we take our car regardless because we like our chairs, umbrellas and coolers with us! The island is thoroughly a visual delight and it is a golfer's heaven. Golf is just outside our door! It's a year round destination and the weather is mild and hospitable for all sorts of activities.

The Unique Benefits at this Single Family Home

The natural, semi tropical setting is really a treat - it's a resort-like location with all the comforts of home. We can spread out more in this one level 3 bedroom house and still get to everything easily and quickly at this end of the island, whether it be on island or just off island. One level living and conveniently located for the swimming pool, the beach, championship golf, and area sightseeing. There's so much to see and do that we still haven't seen everything nearby! We supply our guests with lots of sightseeing literature, maps, restaurant menus, golf course info, etc.

Loretta and Mike Robinson, owners - proprietors. Loretta is a retired congressional press secretary for several members of the U. S. House of Representatives and has also been an Association executive in Washington, D.C. Mike is a senior software engineer at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab in suburban Maryland. She's the beach lover and he's the golfer, so Hilton Head has been the perfect answer for our family's vacation needs for more than 17 years now! The Oyster Reef home is the Robinson's second Hilton Head vacation rental and has been a happy retreat for family, friends, adult sons and rental guests.

    • My family and I have been vacationing in the Hilton Head area for the past 6 years. This was the first time we stayed in Hilton Head Plantation and we absolutely loved it! It was very quite and peaceful, yet close enough to all of the activities. The home was "awesome"---plenty of space to spread out---outstanding kitchen and attention to details that made our stay there comfortable and relaxing. Having access to the beach equipment was a big plus as well--less for us to have to bring along. A great place which we hopt to return to in our future.

    • We have been vacationing on Hilton Head for many years. This is the first year we stayed in a private home rather than a plantation villa. The difference between the two is great. This home offers privacy and yet it is not far from the beach, golf, and shopping. My wife couldn't get over the kitchen appliances and supplies. We mistakenly purchased full bean coffee, but there was even a coffee grinder available. We had a great time. You'll enjoy this home.

    • We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our stay at this wonderful home in late July, '08. We have 4 children - everyone felt very comfortable and we had easy access to the beaches, shopping, restaurants, and other activities. I would recommend this home for family vacationers.

    • Such a pretty, comfortable house. Each bedroom is beautifully decorated. Great location. Loretta supplies everything you need. No need to buy beach chairs! I don't sleep well anywhere; however, I had the most wonderful sleep for the entire week on the most comfortable mattress in the master bedroom. I'm trying to buy the same mattress for our home.

    • This is a great home away from home. We all love to cook so the kitchen was our favorite place - so much better than the small condo kitchens. The plantation has a big playground near the beach which is a treat for anyone with children along. The good internet connection was very helpful for one of us needing to get some work done. This sure beats timeshare!

    • My family and I could not have been more delighted with this beautiful, meticulously maintained home. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were very comfortable, and the yard was just beautiful! There was even a charcoal grill, charcoal, lighter fluid, and everything else you would need for a BBQ. We loved the hammock and the bikes too. And we even were able to do all of our laundry before heading back home. Thank you so much for everything, it was PERFECT! Sincerely, Joel and Dawn Katte P.S. My Dad also loved the large plasma TV for watching the NCAA tournement!

    • We had a great, but short, stay at Myrtle Bank. We found it very comfortable and well equipped. The location is very quiet and relaxing, there were deer in the backyard on 2 mornings and birdlife constantly.Excellent place to unwind.
