Situated on a hillside, three blocks from the white-sand beach of Banderas Bay, in the Mexican village of Bucerias, Casita Palomar enjoys wonderful panoramic views and refreshing breezes.
The casita (a "small house" in Spanish) shares an expansive 1250 square meter (about one-third acre) lot with the casa of its American owners, Oliver and Rita Kollock. The casita and casa are connected by a Spanish-style covered terrazzo overlooking the 38 x 15 foot pool (one of the largest private pools in Bucerias).
With its own private entrance, the casita is a fully-equipped, self-contained unit built to North American standards. The bedroom has a king-size bed, and there is a futon couch in the living room that makes into a double-size bed.
Oliver and Rita are some of the very few full-time, North American residents of Bucerias. They will make you at home in the casita, answer any questions you may have about the area, but then leave you alone to afford you the privacy that you want.
Finally, if you long for canine companionship on your vacation, the Kollocks have a Chocolate Labrador and a Jack Russell Terrier to fill this void. They are quite friendly, but if you do not like dogs... well, there may be a problem. We hope not.

We are probably the most unique part of our rental. People can ask us questions about the area and get our perspective on the town. Of course, there is a nice breeze each afternoon that comes from the bay and the view is very nice.

Casita Palomar - Our Home Away from Home

My husband and I have rented Casita Palomar for various lengths of time on at least 6 different occasions & I almost feel guilty not having written a review before now! The casita is exactly as described and pictured on the website...extremely roomy, comfortable, and well equipped. The afternoon breezes and view of the bay are wonderful, and the casita's location allows easy walking to the beach, restaurants, and main downtown square. A public bus stop is just up the street, and a large modern supermarket is just a short hop up the highway. Downtown Puerto Vallarta is an easy....and cheap.... 45 minutes bus ride away. As for activities & attractions, Bandaras Bay has experienced an incredible building boom over the past 10-15 years, so choices of land-based and water-based activities are almost endless. THE BEST part of Casita Palomar; however, would be the hosts, Rita & Oliver, who welcome all their renters as special friends. Our enjoyment of this area over the years, in large part, has been due to their willingness to provide us with any information we need and to include us in many community events and personal celebrations. Oh yes, we can't forget about Davy & Cocoa, the resident pooches, who also form a significant part of the welcome party. Casita Palomar is perfect for any couple who want to enjoy the wonderful ambiance of Mexico's Pacific coast. If you want to relax, its quiet location allows you to do so. If you want to be active, a world of adventure awaits you just outside the gate.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.
