Fabulous view. Used the lanai and outdoor kitchen every day for one meal or another. Lovely furnishings, great bedding and toiletries. Lots of fluffy towels. Master shower is so nice you hated to come out. 3 large HDTV's. We went with another couple and there was lots of room for privacy and great seating to all be together. Everything is high end and very luxurious. We can't wait to go back to this same unit!

We recently stayed for 7 nights. The condo is fantastic. Modern with all the amenities. The viking grill on the lanai makes grilling a breeze. The view from the lanai of the ocean through the palm trees is wonderful. The condo has 4 nice beach chairs, a cooler and beach towels. The property has two pools. One is a sand bottom for kids. Location is great. Short walk to shops/mall and restaurants. Steps from the bay where turtles usually sit on the beach. We loved it and are looking forward to returning again.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

You won't be disappointed!

Beautifully furnished, extremely clean and well-maintained unit, close to beach, lovely ocean view infinity pool and outdoor workout room. Owners are very helpful and responsive to questions or issues. We'll definitely be back!

I have stayed on the Big Island many times. The difference this time was how much money I saved eating out! We went out for dinner only 1 night (Huggos...our favorite). The rest of the time we ate in the condo on the lanai and just enjoyed the view and serenity of Kolea. This unit has it all. Large beach towels, cooler, 4 beach chairs (and not the cheap ones), everything you need for cooking, high end linens and very comfortable beds. I still cannot understand why people would pay the same price for a hotel that has less space or amenities than this place has. We bought the bulk of our groceries at Costco and than supplemented with trips to the local store for small things. I am very picky about the kind of view I get and I can say this view was excellent. You can pay an EXTRA 300 a night for "oceanview" but if you like to save your money for other fun things, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. (You can see A-Bay from the unit and there are no other units looking into this one) The best part about Kolea is you feel like you are living the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Gated entry, private pool and a private gate that leads to a VERY short path to the beach. From this unit, you are only about 2 minute walk to pool and 3 minute walk to beach. No need to get in the car for a day on the beach. On a couple of days, we made the short drive to the Mauna Kea and enjoyed their beach. We were originally going to stay in a golf course unit but than it was pointed out to me that typically there are more bugs because of the course. All we had to deal with was the occasional bird that wanted to fly in because the huge pocket doors that opened the entire unit to the outside (kids thought it was fun though) There is even an electric screen that drops down from the ceiling that keeps the sun out (although the angle of it at sunset was such that it never shown directly in the unit so we never used it). It's obvious the owner takes great pride in providing everything you would need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. My family is already begging me to go back. Best Vacation EVER!!

Paradise Awaits

Villa is in excellant condition. I'm very picky and have been disappointed by accommodations many times, but not here. Appliances are all high end, right down to the BBQ grill and refrigerator on the lanai. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook -- I confess we only had cereal or english muffins in the morning. Flat screen lcd tv's are in the main room and both bedrooms. The large master shower and dual sinks made getting ready very easy, there are also plenty of towels. You can pack light as there is a washer and dryer in unit. The wall to ceiling glass doors to lanai slide into each other, really bringing the outside in. This unit has an electronic lock on it compared to other units with keys. It makes for easy, secure access and you don't have to carry a key around. It is only a couple of minute walk to the Beach Club and then to A Bay. The sea turtles come out in early afternoon to rest on the beach. It's also an easy walk to the resort shops and restaurants. Truly a slice of heaven. Highly recommend.

AMAZING!!!! There aren't enough words to describe this property & the service provided. This was our 3rd visit to Waikoloa & we have found our "home." The view is phenomenal & we spent much time just staring at the water. The location was perfect. We felt honored that a gift basket awaited us upon our arrival. There were so many extras that we did not receive at previous properties such as laundry detergent/softener; spices; paper towels; trash bags; plastic bags; food wrap & everything we could possibly need for the kitchen. Beach towels; chairs; boogie boards...so many items that we did not have to pack from the mainland or purchase at the store. We will definitely recommend this property to others & will return as soon as possible. Thanks to everyone who made this a memorable vacation.

I have spent the last month (January 2009) at this fine property. The unit is perfect , as is the resort and the weather. Kolea's location is perfect, right on the beach and within minutes walking to shopping and dining. This was my 2nd stay in 14H , there are cheaper condos available in the Waikoloa Resort area , however , by personal experience none offer the location or the extra luxuries that Kolea has. Your own personal BBQ on the lanai will in itself save you any extra costs you put out for the property. The Waikoloa Beach Resort itself has in my mind some of the most dependable weather you will find anywhere , we have stayed close to a 100 days in the past 4 years (all January's) and have seen no more then 3-4 hours rain in total , with temperatures constantly in the low 80's. Treat yourself !!!!
