Aloha. We searched for a second home on Maui for many years. We have finally found our piece of paradise and would like to share it with you as a vacation rental. The condo has been completely remodeled. Email us and we will send you a link to view the Virtual Tour. You can view a SLIDESHOW of the remodeled condo, just scroll down to the link above the Availability Calendar.
What makes this condo so exquisite is that it is on the ground floor, without a confining balcony railing, separating you from the view. For years we rented upper floor condos but the lanais were so cramped, there was no room to “spread out” and be comfortable. We have special security locks on the two sliding glass doors so it is safe to sleep with them open and enjoy the beautiful ocean breezes. Our lanai opens to a huge, manicured lawn and the ocean, just steps away. Relax on the comfortable lounge chairs or dine on the outdoor dining furniture. Both the master suite and the living room face the ocean with sliding glass doors to the lanai, offering a double wall of glass and, therefore, twice the ocean view. Enjoy snorkeling, fishing and swimming right outside your lanai door. We are located at the end of the building, away from the pool, where it is absolutely quiet and there is no road noise because we are on a dead-end street. Have a relaxing massage or spa treatment in the condo or, better yet, on the lanai. Info provided in the condo.
You will find beautiful, new wood laminate floors, a new gourmet kitchen with granite counters, maple cabinets, all new appliances including a large capacity washer/dryer, and a granite bar with bar stools. The bathrooms have been completely remodeled and have granite counter tops, Italian marble tile floors and walls, imported Swarovski crystal faucet fixtures, an over-sized glass block shower in the master bath and a bathtub in the second bathroom. Other amenities include a leather sofa with two recliners for real comfort while reading or viewing your favorite TV show, a 42-inch plasma HDTV, HBO and On Demand, DVD/CD, free unlimited long-distance calling throughout the U.S. and Canada, Voice Mail, high-speed wireless Internet, WIFI, very comfortable beds, plush towels and linens, beach chairs and chaise lounges, beach towels, beach umbrellas, coolers and water toys.
Watch the whales from your lanai while taking in the view of the Haleakala Volcano and Molokini. During the season (January – March) the Humpbacks come into the Bay, where the water is calm, to have their calves. Watch them through our telescope.
No smoking indoors, please.

Why Maalaea Bay?
Location, Location, Location: Maalaea Bay is located mid-way between Lahaina and Kaanapali to the North and Wailea to the South. It is 3 miles from Kihei, a great place for moderate priced dining and shopping. The location cuts off hours of driving time to and from the best of what Maui has to offer, like a quick zip to Hana, the Volcano, and East Shore. We are only 15 minutes from the airport and the big box stores (Costco, etc.).
The Beach: Enjoy five miles of pristine, white sand beach that will never be developed because it is a Wildlife Preserve. It is the longest stretch of undeveloped beach on Maui. We love to walk the 5-mile (round trip) stretch of beach from Maalaea to Sugar Beach. It’s a wonderful way to exercise and we try to walk it everyday when we are there. There are many trees on the beach for shade, a rarity on Maui beaches.
The Water: The ocean is very calm in Maalaea Bay due to an offshore reef. It is safe to swim there, especially for children. If you enjoy being knocked down by the big waves, go North to Lahania/Kaanapali or South to Kihei/Wailea.
The Weather: Maalaea Bay is on the driest part of the island. It rarely rains. You can be sitting on a sunny beach while watching the rain to the North and to the South. Why have your vacation spoiled by rain?
Dining and Attractions: Maalaea Bay offers four wonderful oceanfront restaurants including The Waterfront Restaurant, that consistently wins “The Best Seafood Restaurant on Maui” award, Buzz’s Warf, Beach Bums sports bar, and the Maalaea Grill, walking distance away. The Maui Ocean Center Aquarium is a “must see” (voted Hawaii Top Rated Family Attraction) and a beautifully landscaped Miniature Golf Course and Amusement Center, is also within walking distance. Leaving regularly from Maalaea Harbor are boats offering fishing, diving and snorkeling, whale and dolphin watching, luncheon and sunset cruises.

Why the Owner Chose Maalaea
Maui offers a healthy lifestyle where we can enjoy swimming, snorkeling and especially our 5 mile walk on our quiet beach. We wanted to be close to everything yet away from the crowded beaches, hotels and tourists so Maalaea was just perfect and truly unique to Maui.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We love that we can walk to great attractions, harbor excursions and restaurants and feel we have the most beautiful beach on Maui. The water in the bay is calm which is important to us since we love to swim and snorkel. Our completely remodeled condo is on the ground floor so you can walk on the lawn and out to the ocean and are not captive on an upper-floor lanai.
The place to go for Diving and Snorkeling excursions, sunset, dinner and concert cruises
Some of the best restaurants on the Island, reasonably priced dining, great shopping.
Not far from the MACC which offers great concerts, films, plays, 2 indoor theatres and a large outdoor amphitheatre for large concerts.
Owner's Map of Maalaea
We live in the foothills of Northern California and are often surrounded by 3 feet of snow in the winter so after vacationing in Hawaii for over 30 years, our dream was to have a "real" home on Maui where we can enjoy the marvelous climate and beauty of the island.

Condo is in an excellent location and tastefully decorated with all the conveniences of home. Very easy to find and exactly as described on the website. Great morning sunrises, beautiful evenings, manicured grounds with lots of flowers and a great view. Several great restaurants within driving distance and easy to find; Kiehi-Peggy Sue's(50's & 60's, dance if you like) great shakes, chili cheese fries and burgers; LuLu's, great food, excellent Lava Flo's; Pizza Madness, best pizza on the island; Buzz's wharf(right down the street) Pricey, but good, excellent service; Antonoi's, great Italian, excellent service; Beach Bum's(at the wharf down the street) ex food, service & great portions; Piai-If you love breakfest, you need to drive to Charley's; Makawao, Makawao Steak House, great little town, ex service, good portions. Susan was great to work with, provided lots of information, along with the staff at the Condo and definitely would recommend this property to anyone going to Maui.

Wow ! My family of 4 stayed at this beautiful condo for two weeks in September. Magnificent unimpeded view overlooking ,Maalaea Bay with everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. Maalaea Bay is the perfect location - within 20-30 minutes drive to the main tourist centres of Lahinia/Kihei/Paia - yet still very peaceful with no traffic noise at all. The trade winds kept everything cool and the sunsets and sunrise over Haleakala Volcano were stunning. Well equipt kitchen helped keep the costs down and we found the modern washer/dryer very useful. In short, why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stretch out and relax in a spacious condo such as this ? Highly recommended !

We had an absolutely wonderful time! The condo was beautiful and exceptionally kept and (of course) the view was awesome. We loved just sitting out on the Lanai at sunset and first thing in the morning, the view of Haleakala and the nightlights of Kihei and Wailea and the absolute quietness of the area (no traffic!!!) We loved the location, mainly because it being our first time in Maui, we wanted to explore all parts of it, to determine what we liked and what we would like to visit again. Although as we visited the Lahaina area had all the resorts and many activities, that drive would have gotten tiresome to visit the rest of the island. We definitely will be returning to Maui, will tell our friends and would love to stay at your place again. We have been to Kauai, Oahu, Big Island and now Maui, and by far, Maui is our favorite and staying in a beautiful home as yours definitely was much more our style than staying at a hotel or resort.

We visited in February 2011, and, spent a fabulous week in the condo, the central location is excellent, close to everything. The area around the condo is blissfully peaceful and calm, with beautiful outlook on the bay, and steps to a swim and snorkel in the bay just meters from the patio. The condo is immaculate and well appointed, has a well equipped modern kitchen, all modern amenities, some days we cooked at home and ate on the patio, other days we strolled down for dinner to the great restaurants (Waterfront, Beach Bums) short walk away. We ate breakfast on the patio and enjoyed almost continuous whale shows in the bay right in front of us: the whales were breaching, fin slapping, tail slapping or just swimming with their young and blowing water. You can even hear the whales' 'tail slapping' from the patio. We made several sightseeing trips to other parts of Maui, the central location of Maalaea is very convenient, not too far from anything. V&R, Sydney, Australia
Owner response:Nothing pleases us more than to hear how our guests have enjoyed their stay at our home on Maui. We've worked very hard to make it perfect for us so that we can share it with others so they'll continue to come back again and again.

This condo is and its location is spectacular. I have vacationed on Maui about a dozen times but my stay at your condo was the best ever. It was so, so quiet and relaxing. I look forward to staying at Lauloa #111 again and again.

Our family vacation in November 2009 was fantastic. The condo was amazing and the central location was wonderful - not too far from anything. The grounds and view outside the patio doors were breathtaking. We ate breakfast and dinner on the lawn just outside of the condo and enjoyed fabulous sunrises and sunsets every day! We snorkeled right in front of the condo and saw several sea turtles swimming in the coral! Several evenings we enjoyed walking down the nearly deserted beach just a few complexes from the condo. The condo had every amenity and made our trip one that our family will always remember. Thanks for sharing your absolutely wonderful home with our family!

We spent 2 weeks here in March/April 2009. The condo was very clean and well appointed. The view from the lanai is outstanding and the whales put on a great show during our stay. the grounds, especially the grass were very well maintained. We have stayed in other condo complexes in Maalaea Bay and Lauloa #111 is our favourite so far. It was very quiet and private and we would not hesitate to recommend this unit to others or return ourselves. Thank you Greg and Susan for the use of your beautiful condo.

My dream vacation has always been to be surrounded by palm trees, to be just a few footsteps from the ocean, to wake up every morning to a majestic sunrise, to doze off under more stars than I've ever seen and fall asleep with a quiet breeze and the sound of the ocean waves. I had no idea that what I have always imagined actually exists, and it is here at Lauloa #111 in Maalaea Bay. I was instantly engulfed by a sense of serenity and peace I have never felt before in my life. The view from the private lanai is exquisite and overwhelmingly beautiful at all times of the day. The location feels utterly remote, but you are walking distance from the necessities and just a short drive to some of the greatest beaches and best snorkeling in the world. Due to a cancelled flight, the airline put us up for one night in one of the best resorts on the island. But the amenities of the hotel did not even compare to the privacy, the comfort, and the overall sense of home offered by Susan and Greg's place. I highly recommend their condo to anyone who is looking to make a dream come true, have one of the greatest adventures of their lives, discover what peace and true beauty really are, and gain a whole new perspective on life. Thank you for sharing your home, Susan and Greg. I am so grateful for this experience.
