Condo is in an excellent location and tastefully decorated with all the conveniences of home. Very easy to find and exactly as described on the website. Great morning sunrises, beautiful evenings, manicured grounds with lots of flowers and a great view. Several great restaurants within driving distance and easy to find; Kiehi-Peggy Sue's(50's & 60's, dance if you like) great shakes, chili cheese fries and burgers; LuLu's, great food, excellent Lava Flo's; Pizza Madness, best pizza on the island; Buzz's wharf(right down the street) Pricey, but good, excellent service; Antonoi's, great Italian, excellent service; Beach Bum's(at the wharf down the street) ex food, service & great portions; Piai-If you love breakfest, you need to drive to Charley's; Makawao, Makawao Steak House, great little town, ex service, good portions. Susan was great to work with, provided lots of information, along with the staff at the Condo and definitely would recommend this property to anyone going to Maui.

Wow ! My family of 4 stayed at this beautiful condo for two weeks in September. Magnificent unimpeded view overlooking ,Maalaea Bay with everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. Maalaea Bay is the perfect location - within 20-30 minutes drive to the main tourist centres of Lahinia/Kihei/Paia - yet still very peaceful with no traffic noise at all. The trade winds kept everything cool and the sunsets and sunrise over Haleakala Volcano were stunning. Well equipt kitchen helped keep the costs down and we found the modern washer/dryer very useful. In short, why stay in a cramped hotel room when you can stretch out and relax in a spacious condo such as this ? Highly recommended !

We had an absolutely wonderful time! The condo was beautiful and exceptionally kept and (of course) the view was awesome. We loved just sitting out on the Lanai at sunset and first thing in the morning, the view of Haleakala and the nightlights of Kihei and Wailea and the absolute quietness of the area (no traffic!!!) We loved the location, mainly because it being our first time in Maui, we wanted to explore all parts of it, to determine what we liked and what we would like to visit again. Although as we visited the Lahaina area had all the resorts and many activities, that drive would have gotten tiresome to visit the rest of the island. We definitely will be returning to Maui, will tell our friends and would love to stay at your place again. We have been to Kauai, Oahu, Big Island and now Maui, and by far, Maui is our favorite and staying in a beautiful home as yours definitely was much more our style than staying at a hotel or resort.

Exceptional tranquil location: relax and enjoy

We visited in February 2011, and, spent a fabulous week in the condo, the central location is excellent, close to everything. The area around the condo is blissfully peaceful and calm, with beautiful outlook on the bay, and steps to a swim and snorkel in the bay just meters from the patio. The condo is immaculate and well appointed, has a well equipped modern kitchen, all modern amenities, some days we cooked at home and ate on the patio, other days we strolled down for dinner to the great restaurants (Waterfront, Beach Bums) short walk away. We ate breakfast on the patio and enjoyed almost continuous whale shows in the bay right in front of us: the whales were breaching, fin slapping, tail slapping or just swimming with their young and blowing water. You can even hear the whales' 'tail slapping' from the patio. We made several sightseeing trips to other parts of Maui, the central location of Maalaea is very convenient, not too far from anything. We had a wonderful stay on Maui and in your condo. Last night and this morning, we sat outside and watched one whale after another parade by your condo. At times, there were as many as four of them right in front of us. I don't know why we paid for a whale watching cruise. We had a better view from our chairs at the condo. We could even hear their blows and a funny kind of roaring noise that I didn't expect from whales.

Our family vacation in November 2009 was fantastic. The condo was amazing and the central location was wonderful - not too far from anything. The grounds and view outside the patio doors were breathtaking. We ate breakfast and dinner on the lawn just outside of the condo and enjoyed fabulous sunrises and sunsets every day! We snorkeled right in front of the condo and saw several sea turtles swimming in the coral! Several evenings we enjoyed walking down the nearly deserted beach just a few complexes from the condo. The condo had every amenity and made our trip one that our family will always remember. Thanks for sharing your absolutely wonderful home with our family!

What a great place! The views are second to none. A stones through from the ocean, and Haleakala in the background. Clean, comfortable and plenty of room. This was a perfect central location for our party of 4 (2 couples.) I wouldn't recommend for a family with small children. We would definitely stay here again.

I had no idea that what I have always imagined actually exists, and it is here at Lauloa #111 in Maalaea Bay. The location feels utterly remote, but you are walking distance from the necessities and just a short drive to some of the greatest beaches and best snorkeling in the world. Due to a cancelled flight, the airline put us up for one night in one of the best resorts on the island. But the amenities of the hotel did not even compare to the privacy, the comfort, and the overall sense of home offered by Susan and Greg's place. I highly recommend their condo to anyone who is looking to make a dream come true, have one of the greatest adventures of their lives, discover what peace and true beauty really are, and gain a whole new perspective on life. Our family of 5 had a wonderful time at this condo. It was very clean, confortable and quiet. It had many convenient extras that made our stay even more enjoyable: beach chairs, beach towels, snorkeling gear, boogie boards, umbrellas, cooler, etc. Being on the ground floor is definitely a plus: we felt like we had the whole backyard to ourselves and ate every meal on the lanai. The view is absolutely wonderful and the location is perfect. We explored the whole island and everything was no more than a 2 1/2 hour drive from the condo (except for the Road to Hana which requires a full day). Maalaea is basically a well-kept and quiet row of condos along the ocean. Around the corner, at Maalaea Harbor, you'll find a convenience store, boutiques, restaurants, the Maui Ocean Center and boat charters. A snorkeling cruise to Molokini is offered daily. The closest grocery stores are located in Kihei (20 min drive). A few tips: 1) If you want to see the sun rise on Haleakala, it's a 2 1/2-hour drive which means you should get going around 3:30 am in order to get there on time to find a good spot along the crater. The sunrise is best viewed from the Visitors Center, a few hundred feet from the summit itself. 2) The Road to Hana is an absolute must! Don't be deterred by its 617 turns...the road is well-maintained and people drive with caution...except for locals (just let them pass and they'll reward you with a smile and a "shaka") and speeding dump trucks (they usually come in pairs and honk before blind turns). There are so many thing to see and taste along the road that you should really get going around 6:00 am. We left at 8:00 am and had to skip a few things in order to get back before it got dark. We found an audio tour on CD in one of the drawers under the TV at the condo. If it's still there, bring it along, it made our trip to Hana much easier and a lot more enjoyable! 3) If you want to take surfing lessons, the staff and location of the Goofy Foot Surf School in Lahaina are great! There right on Lahaina beach. 4) Beyond Kapalua, don't miss the Kahekili Hwy, or at the least drive up to the 42-mile marker to see the natural ocean baths. You don't have to go down the cliff, the view from above is wonderful. Once you get there, you can turn around and go back to see the Nakalele Blowhole, at the 38-mile marker. 5) Malu'aka was our favorite beach...we shared it with sea turtles! 6) Buy Lonely Planet Maui and get the info before you go!

What is so special about this condo is the huge private lanai area with the lovely lawn and flower garden. I loved lying out on the chaise lounges while reading a book and sipping a cool drink. You just don't have that kind of space on the upper floor condos where you are confined to a small balcony. I felt as though I was at a private home instead of a busy condo complex like so many others. The condo itself is beautiful with all the amenities. Great location loved the walks on the quiet non crowded beach. Beautiful view. Wish I was there enjoying it now.

This is a terrific place. If you're adventerous and plan on touring all day this central location is great. If you want to sit back and chill out all day away from the hussle and bussle of the main beaches there's no place better (we didn't get the strong winds either in April 2007) For us quiet and clean were important and this place is just that. Best place to stay in Maui! Beautiful, comfortable and wonderful location. The condo is beautifully appointed and has all the creature comforts anyone would desire on vacation. The location is great. the condo faces the water, which is just a few steps away from the patio off the living room and master bedroom. When I was there I saw mother whales and their babies frolicking just off shore! The complex is small, quiet and very private, yet it is easily accessible to everything Maui has to offer in entertainment, dining, and daytime jaunts.

Susan, We did have a great vacation and we could easily stay at your condo again. The condo itself is very nice(thanks again for the bottle of wine!) and the central location was perfect for a first timer to Maui. We loved being able to walk to the beach and to the harbor where we boarded the dive boat, and it was also nice to have a few shops and great restaurants within walking distance.We snorkled in front of the condo every day as the water was very warm and saw quite a few fish as we ventured out further toward the breaks. Anyway, we had a great relaxing time and I do not know what more you could have done to make it better! I appreciate all of the pre trip advice! Mahalo, Monica and John

Everything was beautiful during our stay. We enjoyed the view so much that we ate almost every meal from the patio, after all, what you would pay to eat out with those views would cost more than the condo. The location can't be beat if you are active and want to explore everything that there is to do on Maui. We even used Susan's suggestion about our Jeep rental and were very happy. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit or to stay there again.

Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to explore our neighborhood since there were too many things to do. Everything was perfect for our vacation. Our daughter and son-in-law joined us and both families enjoyed staying at the condo. We couldn't ask for anything more, the location was perfect for us and it gave us an opportunity to visit the south, central and Hana area. I researched a place to stay for almost 5 months. In the end I finally chose Lauloa 111! We just loved this condo! It may be hard to imagine, but the pictures don't do this place any justice. It not only has amazing views, but the condo is immaculate, incredibly well stocked, with every detail thought of (like nightlights and ice packs for the cooler!) Susan, the owner, was so very helpful and patient answering my many, many questions. She offers so much more than other rentals, such as discount car rental suggestions, restaurant recommendations, etc. They are wonderful people and the clearly take pride in their Maui home - and it shows! The complex itself was clean, very well maintained, quiet and the pool was never crowded! The location is just as Susan describes - perfect and centrally located to everything. After having been on Maui for 9 days, I can say I would not only choose the location/area again, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this unit again! By the way, the wind was never an issue for us! Rent with confidence! Aloha!!

We wish to thank you for our beautiful vacation stay in your lovely condominium. Your ocean view from your living room, master bedroom, or patio was spectacular. The short walk to the Maalaea Harbor provided fine resturants, sunset cruises, sports fishing and scuba trips. The world class aquarium was one of the best we had ever visited. Your condo location is unique. It takes 15 minutes to the Maui airport or Costco and approx. 20 to Lahaina making our side trips very short. The short walk to miles of white sandy beach,with so few people, was a real treat. We look forward to returning to Maui and your beautiful condo.

Hi Susan and Greg, We just returned and our vacation was wonderful and at least in part because of your condo. It looks great and had everything we needed. It was perfect. You met or exceeded all of our needs and expectations. We did a lot of the usual tourist stuff (sunrise on crater, road to Hana, luau, etc.) and were still able to occasionally enjoy the view right out the back door. "Spectacular" doesn't even do justice to this oceanfront condo. Never, in half a century, have I stayed anywhere with more splendid views, better location, or more comfortable accommodations. You are literally twenty feet from the water-- with breathtaking views of the bay, mountains and two nearby islands. We stayed here when moving from Chicago to Hawaii. I can't give higher praise than to say that, even though I already live in the islands, I yearn to stay here again. Perfect place... perfect space... perfect hosts!
