Just returned home after spending 6 weeks in this condo. I can't say enough good things about the place , the view is the best, everything you could need in the kitchen . Lots of linens and cleaning stuff. Barbara is a delight to deal with. This is our 4th time staying in her condo and we have reserved it for another 6 weeks in 2013. I think that speaks volumes about the place and the owner. See you next year (10 mths but who is counting.

My husband and I grew slightly anxious about Ma'alaea prior to our trip b/c the area received mediocre/poor reviews from traveling guides due to high winds and the remote location. We couldn't beat the rates for this condo, however, and for young newlyweds I have to admit that money was the deciding factor to stay here. After 10 days in Barbara's condo, we realized that the harbor community is in fact Maui's best kept secret! There is no other place on the island that would allow us to stay in a fabulous oceanfront condo only minutes from the best sand beach in Maui. If you enjoy staying in an area "off the beaten path" and want to get the best value for your dollar, then this condo is for you!!! The bed was very comfortable, and we even spent several nights on the pull out sofa with the ocean serenading us to sleep. The pool was extremely quiet and relaxing - in fact the entire condo is quiet, which was very important b/c windows must be open to allow the tradewinds through. This location is central to any activities you want to explore on the island, but it also allows you to escape the "tourist" feel of other towns. We made several friends with Hawaiian natives at the beach and the local staff at our favorite bar/grill BeachBums were amazing! Walk to the bar during the day and Travis will provide you with lots of drinks, jokes, and good times. We can not wait to return to the island, and I've already referred the condo to others!

Barbara, We loved our stay in your condo. It is in the perfect location to explore everything on the island. The road to Hana, Lahaina, and Haleakala National Park we saw it all. We were able to walk to Ma'alaea Bay to snorkel on the "Pride of Maui" and walk downstairs to the best restaurant on the island "The Waterfront Restaurant".The sunrise from the lanai was breathtaking. We would recommend this condo for a great Maui getaway.

Nice well equipped property with everything you need no more than 10-15 minutes away. We have spent a month here this summer. Our host Barbara was more than kind, professional and flexible. We planned the trip at the last moment and had airline moving our flight few times. Barbara had lots of patience and understanding. We stayed in different parts of the World with vrbo hosts. This was probably one of the best equipped condos , great for people like us who always forget lot of things. From beach equipment for our 10 year old, to movies, spices and even paper clips, everything was there. View is great. Condo is centrally located. The volcano in close, Ocean Center & shops nearby, beaches on both sides, historical Lahaina 15 minutes away, snorkeling beaches all around. It is not a luxury resort in the “middle of action”. It is a great place for families and to stay and enjoy the island.

I was here 11/2-12/2/2009 and absolutely loved it. Barbara sent the most complete instructions I've ever seen, the condo is fully equipped and she truly is the hostess with the mostest. You are right on the water, with a marvelous view of Haleakala and Maalaea bay. I went walking on the beach most mornings, no, not all the way to Kihei. Met several of the neighbors who were all very friendly. Did some touristy things and danced at Studio Maui, went to church at Unity where they interweave Hawaiian chants and Hula into their service. I got a non resident library card. This condo is centrally located so wherever you want to go on the island, it's an easy access. The tradewinds kept the condo comfortable. Loved the lounge chair on the lanai, really no need to go anywhere. I got a great deal on my car rental thanks to Barbaras information. I would recommend this place to anyone. I've traveled a lot and this condo is right up there at the top of the list!

Wonderful place to start your adventure. We had a great time on Maui in your beautiful condo! What a gorgeous view off of the lanai and the condo itself is well equipped with "everything" you could possibly need. I will definitely try to reserve you unit in the future. Mahalo Barb, you are a very gracious host.

Dear Barbara We were delighted with our stay in Maui and especially with the extras you supplied. Thanks to you we enjoyed several days at the beach with all the "stuff" we needed. Thanks to you we enjoyed a 16inch rib eye dinner at a great discount coupon rate at the Beach Bums Bar and Grill. I do recommend their place and also know now that one of their meals can fill the tummies of 2 senior adults. Thanks to you I enjoyed a Maive Binche book I had not read. Thanks to your supplies of all we needed I was able to go home with clean clothes. Thanks to you we had bread and coffee for our first breakfast. Thanks to you we will feel comfortable to booking again with VRBO. I just wish you were the landlord for all the choices. Peace Carlene Partain (booking for 5/12-19)

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Barbara's condo. We have stayed in many vrbo's around the country, and Barbara has done a fantastic job keeping the place well-stocked with the "little things" most places are missing. The oceanfront balcony was amazing, as we spent most of our time there admiring the sunrises or reading a book from the vast library. The location is central to all activities on the island, and we truly put that to the test! Thank you so much for a fantastic stay!

We stayed in Barbara's condo from mid-January through the first week in March. This was the third year in a row we have rented from her, and cannot recommend her highly enough. The Milowai is situated in a quiet area, away from the hustle and bustle and this allows for total relaxation. We love the tradewinds that blow through and cool things off. Being located right beside the water is priceless, and watching the whales is one of our favorite things to do. Ma'alaea is centrally located and is only minutes from wherever you need to go. Barbara is very accommodating and wants to be certain you have everything you need for your vacation, and she is an absolute delight. We highly recommend renting from her!!!

We enjoyed a visit to Barbara's condo on Maui Nov 9-17, 2008. This was our first visit to Maui and it was just perfect. We walked in the door and immediately felt at home. Barbara is the best hostess ever, giving savvy tips and directions to the sights and stocking the condo with necessities and more. The condo location puts everything in easy reach for daytrips - land or sea! We certainly hope to come back soon. Thanks Barbara!

What a wonderful accomodation you have for your guests! Even though the Milowai Condo Units are a little older, it is very well taken care of and #205 was well stocked with all the comforts and staples of home. Nice! We spent a lot of time on the lanai, enjoyed our morning coffee and the view. In the 14 days we were in Maui we thoroughly enjoyed this retreat of peace and quiet. The view of the bay is sectacular and we were located very close to the surf; the sunrise's are awesome! The small area of grass was like velvet to our barefeet. Maalaea Bay is centrally located, yet not over crowded. It is very close to The Maui Aquarium and is a must-see for all ages. The price of groceries was a big shock! There are all varities of places to eat out, from fast food to affordable resturants. Many coupons are available in free magazines, and the local farmer's markets are great. We loved seeing the dolphins on a boat excursion. We also discovered with the washer and dryer avaiable, we packed too much. It's our intention to return to Maui next year and Barbara's Unit #205. Mahalo Barbara. Aloha!

Our Maui vacation was wonderful! The condo was everything that Barbara had said and more. The view of the ocean from the lanai was breathtaking, and we will remember the sunsets forever. My husband and I actually slept on the pull-out couch so that we could listen to the waves, and our daughter took the bedroom. The condo was stocked with everything we needed, including supplies for the beach. We were close to the harbor and ended up taking a snorkel cruise to Molokini -- great trip. I am already plotting my next trip to Maui and we will most certainly try to stay in the same place.

I spent 10 glorious days in Maui with my adult children and we had a fabulous time! My days started with watching the sun rise and ended with hearing the waves on the shoreline just 50 feet from the condo. The view from our room was spectacular and we all enjoyed our morning coffee on the lanai watching the whales and turtles in the bay. In addition to a good dose of beachtime, we spent time snorkeling, whalewatching, day trip to Hana (must do!), an evening Luau, trip up to watch the sunrise on Haleakala. At 10,000 feet, my son proposed to his girlfriend - what a special time! My children took surfing lessons, kiteboarding lessons and toured the local winery. We loved staying at the condo. It was truly our home away from home. It had everything we needed (and then some!) We enjoyed the nearby restaurants with sensational seafood and made good use of the barbecue many evenings. Barbara and Chris had emailed us with information on "things to do and see" which was so very helpful. We all had a great time and look forward to our next visit. Maui is truly a paradise!

My husband and I stayed at Barbara's condo from December 6th to the 20th of 2007. We had a wonderful time. The view, location, the condo itself, with the washer & dryer, full kitchen, comfortable queen size bed--were all we could of hoped for. And the unbelivable price were just amazing... We appreciated all the insight to the beautiful island and did alot of wonderful-once in a lifetime- things. But also enjoyed our quiet time on the lanai, wathing sea turtles and whales playing in the ocean. Our time there will need to carry us until we return--as we are alredy looking forward to it. Thank you for sharing your home with us. Debbie & Bill from Middleport, NY

Barbara, Thank you so much for renting us your condo. We spent 5 wonderful days there, and I have to say we loved every moment. When we first pulled up to the building we both kinda thought 'oh, oh' but when we opened the door, we both started jumping around with excitement. The lanai and view were amazing. The fouton wasn't the best, but I insisted on sleeping there so I could fall asleep to the sound of the waves every night (I put the mattress on the floor). I got up every morning and sat on the comfortable lanai lounge chair and wrote in my journal as the sun rose. The condo was very well stocked - there was nothing we wanted that you didn't have. The BBQ and pool area were great too. After we arrived there, we found your Maui Revealed book and in it is warned against staying in Ma'alaea...why, I don't know. It's centrally loacted, and I liked feeling away from it all, unlike all the other touristy towns on the island. We took day trips each day -2 to the South Coast, one to the NW side and Iao valley, and one day to Hana. I hightly recommend the drive to Hana, it's absolutely amazing. We ate twice at the restaurant downstairs - DELICIOUS food, excellent service and amazing view. Again, thanks so much for making my vacation a wonderful one. I definately want to return to your condo one day.

Wow, where do we start. We stayed at this condo from March 17th until March 31st. We didn't want to leave. The condo was fantastic, the view was spectacular and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Barbara (the owner) was awesome. She was so helpful in every respect. Very honest, very quick to answer any questions I had, and so helpful with suggestions on where to go and what to see. The location is centrally located to shopping and restaurants. The view is unbelievable. There isn't anything missing in the condo. Having the washer and dryer in the condo was a lifesaver. The entire condo is very roomy and has all the comforts of your own home. We are looking forward to going back in March of 2008. Thank you very much Barbara and Chris for everything.

We spent a wonderful week here in January 2007. We come every year during whale watching season. This was our third stay in the Maalaea area. We liked Milowai #205 so much we've already booked another 3 weeks next winter. We liked the wonderful unobstructed views from the lanai, including beautiful sunrises over Haleakala, humpback whales breaching, windsurfers, local fishermen casting their nets, and much more. We liked the comfy lounge chair on the lanai. A perfect place to catch the morning sun in privacy. We liked the quiet. There is no traffic noise. (not true of many other condos) You do hear the sound of the ocean, the the harbor and the turtle doves call. We liked the location. A five minute walk to Maalaea Village and all that it has to offer. Most activities on Maui center on the ocean and Maalaea is a main gateway to these. The aquarium is located here along with restaurants, shops, snorkeling, fishing, etc. A ten minute walk in the other direction takes you to 3 miles of uninhabited sand beach. A perfect place for the morning walk. (if you can resist the comfy lounge chair). We liked the condo. It's 50 feet from the ocean. It's clean and well maintained. The kitchen is big enough to work in and has all you'll need. There is a washer and dryer in the unit. (REALLY IMPORTANT!) It has an assigned parking spot. We liked the rate. We paid $40 a night more down the street for a similar condo with a worse view. We liked the owner. Their description of the condo was honest. They responded immediately when we had a small problem with the unit. They dealt with our financial transactions responsibly. They also had plenty of good suggestions for things to do. We loved it!

Dear Barbara, This was my fourth time to Hawaii & this is the nicest place I've ever stayed! What a perfect location - not far from the airport, Lahaina, Kihei or Haleakala. I spent more time in the condo than I expected simply because everything was there - beautiful condo, pool, gorgeous ocean view, patio for sunsets, stars & drinks in the evenings, etc. Having the town & shops so near was wonderful. Being able to cook some meals on the grill & have some great seafood within walking distance was heaven. If I were writing a guide book to Hawaii, I'd include this in a "Great Deals" chapter or "Secrets of Maui." It's the only place I'll stay when I go back to Maui! Thanks, again.
