Shooting Star was newly opened in 2006. Decorated in the western lodge style, you might imagine you are visiting with the Cartwright family on Bonanza when you are our guest. Massive ceiling beams throughout, hardwood floors, and cowboy accents will have you feeling that you are back on the ranch. The large balcony and all rooms have breathtaking panoramic views over the vast Wasatch mountain ranges, and on a clear day you may even get a glimpse of Wyoming.
The Village at Empire Pass, while nestled by the slopes, is tucked away in a quiet, heavily forested mid-mountain area, yet it is only a five-minute drive from the restaurants and shops of Park City and Deer Valley's Silver Lake Village.
Located by the Silver Buck Run (Silver Strike Express Lift) on Flagstaff Mountain, Deer Valley - Park City Utah, this exclusive top floor (third) condominium offers a rustic, yet elegant mountain lodge atmosphere, reminiscent of the grand old lodges at Yellowstone and Yosemite.
Relax in the great room after your day of skiing with friends and family, gathered around the stone fireplace, while you watch a favorite movie from the DVD collection (40-inch flat panel TV, surround sound, CD changer/cable music), or hone the family's skills on one of the many board games provided.
The bedrooms provide versatility with king, queen, and twin bed set-ups, while the loft has four bunk beds with lots of room for the kids to romp. A private office, with desktop computer (DSL cable) and printer, permits that workaholic in your group to stay tethered to the office back home. The kitchen and baths all feature custom wooden cabinetry, slab granite counter tops, natural stone floors, and in the master bathroom, a jetted tub. SubZero refrigerator/freezer and Wolf range, of course, and washer/dryer. Children more than welcome. No smoking, no pets.
Shooting Star has heated underground parking, full ski equipment room with your own private locker, and secluded spas in a wooded setting. Dial-A-Ride is provided as a complimentary amenity for transportation around the area.
Deer Valley Resort, named the number one ski resort in North America by numerous sources including SKI magazine and which hosted a number of 2002 Winter Olympic events, has four mountains which offer any skier the ultimate opportunity to revel in the annual 300 inches of light, dry, Utah powder. Five-star guest services, top ranked on mountain food, and impeccably groomed vast slopes at Deer Valley set the standard for all other ski resorts worldwide.

Top Rated Ski-in/Ski-Out in Deer Valley, on Silver Buck Run
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Empire Pass, Shooting Star
Deer Valley is the #1 ranked Ski Resort in the US and we think the location of Shooting Star is the best in Deer Valley, located mid- mountain with a view 50 miles out over virgin forests and the mountain ranges, but yet only five minutes to restaurants and shops. The short 45 minute drive from the SLC airport was a very important consideration for us combined with the convenience of a true ski-in/ski-out condo. Deer Valley has fabulous hotels, but we were looking to have a beautiful place where we could also ski in for lunch. Deer Valley dining is unmatched anywhere and Park City is a 5 minute drive back down the hill. We enjoy the skiing at Deer Valley with the beautifully groomed slopes and no snowboarders, although our son, who does like to board, just goes to Park City next door. There are other ski resorts nearby as well for those who enjoy variety, but we love the Deer Valley experience so much, it's hard to want to go elsewhere. There are great things to do in the area during the summer as well. We love the fabulous hiking, mountain biking, water sports, Olympic Park, and many other diversions.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The kids love the Deer Valley Ski School and have an easy run down to the school every morning from our unit. Dial-a-Ride is also a huge perk if the ski-school group wants to take a ride instead. Dial-a Ride is a free service to our guests and they will deliver or pick up anywhere in the DV area as well as Park City. Our condo is situated next to the Talisker Tower which is also fabulous if you want to take advantage of the club. Not all guests get this perk since there is a limit on the # of guest passes we can acquire, but be sure to ask about it when making your reservations. There is underground heated parking for your convenience. Shooting Star 301 is decorated like a cowboy's dream. With the saddle perched at the front entrance, every kid climbs right up to give it a try.

Dear Davidsons, Thanks for another fabulous spring break vacation at 301 Shooting Star. Deer Valley is such a great place to come, especially with a family. Their ski school is fantastic for the kids—well organized, responsive to parents, great instruction, and the kids have fun while there. 301 Shooting Star is perfectly located on the mountain too. Slopeside along the Silver Strike lift, for true ski in/ski out ability (we skied down to ski school this year), 301 is perfectly positioned to pop back in at any time for an extra pair of gloves or goggles— or for a hot cup of chili at lunch (although everyone ought to try the skier’s buffet at Stein Eriksen lodge at least once a trip). The kids love being able to get out and play in the snow after skiing as well (this year we constructed an igloo next to Silver Buck run) or sledding down the slope (after lifts close, of course). We love that it is well positioned out of the hustle and bustle of downtown or mid-mountain, but still a six minute drive to either downtown or Snow Park Lodge. Oh and by the way, the condo itself has everything we could ever need (including an office), and the ranch house décor is great—no detail has been overlooked (we love the remote control blinds in the master bedroom). We will be back to “cowboy up” again next spring. Thanks for a great vacation! The RobertsonsMontgomery, Alabama

March 15, 2008Our family had the best ski vacation ever staying at Shooting Star, and the kids went wild over the Western look of 301. We were not familiar with the Empire Pass area, but were not disappointed. It is tucked way up Flagstaff Mountain away from the crowds, but only five minutes away by skis or car from the shops and restaurants in Silver Lake and Park City. 301 is first class luxury all around, everything you could possibly need and all new. Ski in/ski out, literally step out the rear door and you are on Silver Buck run, with the Silver Streak lift 50 yards down the slope. It just doesn’t get any better and we have skied about everywhere. We have three little girls who all were in Deer Valley ski school and loved every minute. Reserve early as it gets booked quickly. There are also more top notch restaurants than you could try in a month. Thank you so much Davidsons for letting us share your perfect ski getaway. We will return, same time next year.Fondly,The LedfordsFranklin, TN

March 9, 2008. We have been to Deer Valley many times and to ski resorts all over the country, but this new Empire Pass section of Deer Valley is the greatest. It is located well up Flagstaff mountain, so when we ski out your door at Shooting Star 301 we were right on the Silver Strike lift and off to the top. The location is the best since we look outside and are in the forest, yet Park City and Silver Lake shops and restaurants are just 5 minutes away. We love the western ranch house look of 301, and the detail you have taken to provide all we needed. Thank you Davidsons for allowing us to share your dream. We will definitely be back next year and thereafter. Nothing could be better. Brown Hobson & family Ft. Mill, SC
