My husband, 2 terriers and myself spent Christmas 2011 at the studio loft. We had a great time. Snow had fallen and the trails were picture perfect. The little touches i.e. the apple pie (awesome) and the table top real xmas tree were truly appreciated, The friendliness of both Jitka and Chance completed the perfect 5 day get away. Can wait to rent the beach house in the summer.

We had a wonderful one week stay in the studio loft at Singing Pebbles. The property has trails through the woods and access to a clean cobble beach for walking. On the loft's deck, all of the senses are stimulated by the view of the ocean - a view of ocean sunrises and distant passing ships, the freshness of the ocean air and sounds of crashing waves and wave tumbled rocks. Located on the Cabot Trail and close to the Ingonish entrance to Cape Breton National Park, there are many opportunities for all manner of outdoor activity. Thank you Jitka.

We spent a wonderful week at Singing Pebbles in July. While the weather was not as good as we might have wanted, Singing Pebbles was beautiful and we enjoyed the company of both the cat and dog! We enjoyed walking the property and strolling along the beach. One evening we saw seals. We saw bald eagles from the house and even more on Bird Island and at Pleasant Cove. We highly recommend Donelda's Puffin Boat Tour; it was one of the highlights of our trip. Also recommend The Chowder House in Neil's Harbour. Great chowder & oatcakes and reasonable prices.

What a wonderful time we had staying at Singing Pebbles and exploring Cape Breton Island. Jitka's warm, genuine hospitality made us feel so at home. We enjoyed the whole property --the beach, the trails, the games room, and the cozy loft apartment that had everything we needed. We would love to return.

I was recently telling a friend about our stay at Singing Pebbles as they will be in the area in September of this year and I recalled what a glorious experience we had staying here for a week in the summer of 2006. We did not want to leave - it felt like home and Jitka and Gilbert and ALL the animals were wonderful. We do hope to return someday.

Our hearts were captured by this lovely North Shore, the beauty of the land and the waters. The amazing music of Celtic Colors VIII-2004, the wild storms of this visit (tropical storm Nicole) the very colorful maples and- most of all- by your warm friendship. Yours is a special hospitality - where else might one's hosts provide fresh apple pie, flowers, and mushroom walks. So we leave, rested and renewed, and looking forward to Celtic Colors 2005!

We had a wonderful stay. We went to the beach, walked the paths, drove the trail, visited Baddeck, were chased by the geese, and had a table-tennis trournament in the games room. The weathere varied from sunny and warm to rainy and cool. We enjoyed the gardens and admired Jitka's pottery, Gilbert's woodcarving skills. We hope to be back soon! Thank you, Bep and the kids

Each part of Nova Scotia possesses its own charm and beauty. Wreck Cove is no exception. Jitka and Gilbert - you have created a special place here in Northern Cape Breton that matches your unique personalities. Your property and gardens are fantastic. Each day something new and gorgeous cathes your eye. Thank you so very much for your kindness and consideration. You made me feel comfortable, relaxed and very much at home. Hope this will be the beginning of an annual event.

What generous and sensitive hospitality! How could we not feel at home in a place outfitted with all the attention and care one does for one's own home (not to mention a really well-equipped kitchen), landcaping - the same. We enjoyed our time here, e.g. walking the trails with Cyrus in the lead, as much as our forays around Cape Breton. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful stay.

Jim and I don't feel like visitors, we feel as though we're returning home. The "3-R's" definitly take on a new meaning here. Instead of reading, 'riting and 'rithmatic, they become rest, relaxation and renewal. Thank you for all you do. We so appreciate Singing Pebbles and most of all we appreciate you, Jim and Janet.

Your home and property is just lovely. Enjoyed our nice bright and clean cottage. A million thanks for the delicious eggs! I never tasted any so good. We savored them. As we depart this morning we have sunny bright skies. Your place is wonderful and we will always remember our short time here. All the best, Matt and Linda Cronk p.s. Saw a bald eagle and 2 moose on our way back from Sidney near the ferry!

I believe that Singing Pebbles will bring joy to anyone that chooses to stay there. Your hosts, Jitka and Gilbert are warm and gracious and are an extra special addition to the whole experience. This was our first experience in renting something from the internet. We were certainly fortunate to have found the best place in Cape Breton. It was a wonderful base for all of the sightseeing that we did, but we could have easily spent every day right at Singing Pebbles and had a fabulous time. The "cottage" is adorable and features everything that you could possibly need. The grounds provide several nice amenities from the beach to the pond to the friendly animals. Watching the sun come up from your kitchen windows is awesome and the sound of the water is refreshing. Hiking is available on the property or very close. I loved it all, including the fresh brown eggs from the hen. Singing Pebbles, along with it's terrific owners, provided my husband and myself with a delightful vacation and warm memories. If you are looking for a place in Cape Breton, you deserve to make your reservation with Jitka and Gilbert.

The only limitation to our stay was the fact that we had only one week, and not two. I think the best thing about your place is the combination of location (offering privacy plus the ocean beach, with it sound and smell as well as the fun of the pond), comfort and quality of your rental property, and your friendliness and helpfullness as hosts. The proximity to Cape Breton National Park is also a good plus.

Dear Jitka, Dear Gilbert, Thank you for being so attentive, thoughtful, open and discreet ... You made our visit an highlight of our summer. Jitka, your smile and calm, Gilbert, your warmth, stories and delightful cooking will be remembered as traits of friends... "Little " Cody still talks about digging clams in Englishtown. The cottage could not have been cleaner, filled with light , its kitchen in par with my sometimes exuberant cooking.. Thank you again and we hope to see you soon. A bientot en Nouvelle Ecosse... Cape Breton has a spirit. Once you leave, you realize how strong that spirit is. There is a sense of serenity and majesty about the place. The cottage worked out beautifully for us. The location was a convenient hub for our day hikes into the park. The view from the cottage was breathtaking. I just could not get enough of it. Michele loved the sound of the waves retreating through the pebbles on the beach. We would like to thank you for your hospitality. We felt like we were at home.

"The Barn offers comfortable airy accommodation from which to explore the beauty of the Cabot Trail. The accommodation, which is modern, clean and well equipped provides all the comforts of home and is set in a peaceful location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The peace and quite is broken only by the occasional Hummingbirds, the wind in the trees and the sound of the sea. If you are lucky you may get the opportunity to taste Gilbert's, the owners, home made apple, to use the contents of the well stocked vegetable garden and meet Matilda the goose!"
