Great time

Guest: Sarasotas (Sarasota, Florida)

We had a wonderful time in Maui. The place was nice. A few things could have been cleaned a little better in the kitchen prior to our arrival (cabinet doors, plates and silverware). The condo was convenient to a lot of great restaurants and shopping. We can't wait to go back and explore more. There is so much to do in the area. The view from the condo was just breathtaking. We loved that it was more modern and updated than some of the others we saw. We would definitely stay there again.

Pleasant stay in comfortable condo

Guest: Doug (Colorado)
Date of Stay: 05/19/11 Review Submitted: 05/28/11

This is a clean, well maintained, roomy, and pleasingly decorated unit. It has a great kitchen with all needed appliances and cookware. It has a large main lanai (balcony) with awesome views of the ocean directly in front and Wilea resorts to the north. Even though the "09 series" of units at the Polo Beach Club are set back the furthest, the building is angled so that you still have a 180 degree view from this unit. You are actually closer to the beach than the most expensive "ocean front" rooms at the nearby Fairmont Kea Lani. The unit has its own wifi router that will keep your computer or smartphone connected (tmobile 4g was otherwise a little iffy). The owner is very helpful and accomodating. We found that some of our best snorkeling experiences in the area were actually right off Polo Beach in front of the condo. A lava/coral reef contains a wide variety of fish and usually a number of turtles. Power shoppers will enjoy the nearby Shops at Wailea. Try Pita Paradise in the Gateway Center (where you will pick up your keys) for a tasty and not expensive lunch or even dinner. This unit is on the north side of the building which is adjacent to Polo Beach State Park, a strip of land connecting a public parking area and the beach. You can get some occasional noise during the day on weekends when the park is busy, but this was almost drowned out by the sound of the waves. There was also one evening when the normally tranquil twilight setting was disturbed for several hours by a PA system associated with a private Luau at the Fairmont (a couple of hundred yards away). One other noise issue occurred our first night when apparently the unit directly below had left their out-of-kilter ceiling fan on at highest speed, creating a loud rythmic creaking all night. When brought to the attention of the Polo Beach front office in the morning it was immediately resolved for the rest of our visit. But these things were pretty minor in the scheme of things and I only present them in the interests of full disclosure. I would not hesitate to recommend this unit for someone looking for comfort, luxury, and great ocean views in the Wailea area.
