First time visitor to Seabrook Island enjoyed stay

This guest had a number of kinds words with respect to our Seabrook Island home and Seabrook Island itself: "First let me start by telling you how much my family has enjoyed your home on Seabrook! What a beautiful home, setting and it was stocked with everything we needed. ..... We would love to use your place again on our next trip, we come every year but this was our first stay on Seabrook and we loved it!" Notes like these are very dear to me.

Obviously this guest did not have our usual chamber of commerce weather, but the vacation was salvaged: "My husband and I had wonderful time at your home at Seabrook. The island and all of the club Facilites are wonderful. Your home is beautiful and very comfortable. We felt right at home. We especially enjoyed the large open kitchen. We did not have the best weather (lots of rain)' so the screened in hot tub was really fantastic." Let's hope the weather will be better next time.

This guest requested an extended stay for one day. It did not work out to stay an extra day due to fixed costs, but we were able to delay the departure time to achieve a similar result. John writes: "We had a wonderful time this week, your house is fantastic -- thanks so much for everything! My wife and I have enjoyed it so much here that we'd like to ask if would be possible to stay another night? (everyone else will be leaving Saturday morning);" Our goal is to be as flexible as we can to satisfy the needs of our rental guests. It worked well this time.

My family and I recently returned from our 4th stay at Seabrook Island. This is, by far, the best place we have rented. The property was well appointed and maintaned. After a long day at the pool and beach the hot tub was a welcomed joy. We also enjoyed the use of the canoe and kayak. A great place for teenagers and tired parents alike!

Owner response:A couple of comments are in order. First, I appreciate the kind words. These rental guests obviously appreciate the beauty and value of Seabrook Island as we do as indicated by their many repeat visits. They are also engage in active family vacations as they took advantage of the Seabrook's beaches and pools and our hot tub, canoe and kayak. We do the same. I would not be at all surprised if they someday became Seabrook Island property owners. This is the route by which the vast majority of all current Seabrook Island property owners became property owners.

A recent guest expected to use a charcoal grill and was disappointed when they did not find one. I was very concerned when she told me afterwards - I thought someone had made off with our Big Green Egg. Happily, it was just a misunderstanding. They thought the Big Green Egg was just a smoker and did not realize it was also a terrific charcoal grill. It was there on the open deck all the time. This is what she said: "The house is wonderful - especially the kitchen. Even though I only cooked dinner once (I'm not a cook!), it was perfect for us to come in at all times of the day and night to get snacks and drinks. The master suite is unbelievable! The shower!! I could stay in there all day. The beds were comfortable - lots of napping. And it was nice to have the office/den room with the couch, for a chance to get away by one's self once in awhile. We didn't fill or use the hot tub, but everything else seemed to work ok. We did think that there was a bbq, so had bought briquets and lighter fluid, but it wasn't on the deck. No problem, though. While the weather for the first part of the week was fine, it got really cool in the evenings and later on in the week so we weren't all that interested in grilling. All in all, it was perfect for us."

I could not have said it better: "dear jack, i just wanted to tell you what a wonderful time we had at your house in s. carolina. the house is absolutely beautiful and more than that, its layout makes it extremely comfortable and easy to live and play in! we loved the porches and even used the hot tub. we never had time to kayak at the island, but did take a tour with our kayaks with a local tour company. i am a cook, so the huge kitchen was an absolute dream for me! all of the appliances (including the wine refrigerator!) were a pleasure to use. our only regret was that there were only 4 of us staying there--with all of that space, i kept saying what a waste it was not to have more people there to enjoy it! we took much advantage of the beautiful pool at the beach club and the bar that sits next to it! the reality company was very helpful and overall it was a terrific vacation. thank you for allowing us to stay there, i couldn't have chosen a better rental!"

We've just concluded our 2nd stay at this beautiful home and would highly recommend the home and Seabrook Island for a very relaxing beach vacation. The home is an easy bike ride to the beach club, which is a wonderful and convenient way to enjoy the beach and pools. Their location on the lagoon is very tranquil and we also enjoyed using the canoe and kayak provide for paddling around the lagoon in the evening. This was a great setup for two families vacationing together and we'll be back.

Many of our guests are two families vacationing together. The layout of the house is amenable to this arrangement and we often entertain friends and relatives this way.

One of our recent guests is a pet owner and had some interesting comments: "Oh, for what it's worth, one of your neighbors who's a dog lover mentioned that Seabrook is considering a dog park, which we think would be absolutely great. We never did have a chance to go to the new Club, but the workout facilities were excellent. Believe it or not, we had such a good time on Seabrook for 2 weeks, we never made it into Charleston, where we've vacationed quite a number of times. I hope we can stay again and I'll keep tabs on VRBO for availability." We too support the concept of a "dog" park. If we do get one I will mention in my description of Seabrook. Currently a section of North Beach is designated a leash free area.

As this recent guest points out, there may be some down side to excellent facilities: "I wanted to send you a note to let you know how much we enjoyed your house over the past week. Most of the comments published here contain praise for the facilities and services we offer. However, I want to reverse that for a recent guest who wrote: "We had a wonderful time in Seabrook! Your house worked out perfectly and Seabrook is a beautiful place! Thank you for all your help." Our property manager went by the house just after they departed and was concerned (until she double checked) that the house was never occupied as it had been left so neat. Guests such as these (we have been fortunate enough to have quite a few) are always welcome. One advantage of keeping the place up is that the guests feel obligated to leave it that way. This helps everyone as it keeps our cleaning and maintenance costs down and allows us to present a better product at a lower cost.

This is an unusual, but very welcome note. The son of a recent rental guest wrote "I was staying in your Seabrook Island house this week with my parents and family.  I had called and talked to Mrs Hunt earlier this week about the wireless internet.  She said that no one was able to get it to work, and to send you and email if I did.  Well, I didn't divulge at the time that I'm a software engineer and have quite a bit of computer experience.  Long story short, I was able to get the wireless working properly.  I'm not sure what the password was previously - I couldn't get either of the ones Mrs Hunt provided to work.  However, it is now "OpenUpTheBox!" (without the quotes), and worked all week with no problems.Thanks for sharing your beautiful house with us.  We've had a great week and cannot wait to come back next year."Obviously, my wife and I have little expertise with respect to complex electronic devices. As far as I am concerned it is magic best dealt with by a magician. Fortunately we had a majician staying with us that week.

Our most recent guests writes: "We just got home a couple of hours ago. We had a WONDERFUL time in Seabrook. Your home is so beautiful! The high ceilings, granite countertops, large kitchen, stunning fireplace, and great deck with hot tub really made our vacation complete. I can understand why you built a home there. We took care of it as it was our own. We called Cheryl ( she was great to work with) the first night because the hot water didn't get hot enough.... I believe the fuse was flipped and also let her know that the garbage disposal was leaking a little bit. We wanted you to know this so you wouldn't have future problems in the kitchen. We loved it there....don't be surprised when we call you to come back we thoroughly enjoyed it!" Cheryl Bailey is our property manager and takes very good care of all of our guests from the pre arrival paperwork, check in and any problems during the visit.

I had meant to write earlier telling you about our stay at your property. It was excellent! The house was beautiful and so spacious, and like you had said, the pictures do NOT do it justice! We made full use of the kitchen, having all breakfasts and a couple of dinners at the house, and it easily accommodated 9 adults. The hot tub and the bikes were great perks; many of us hadn't ridden bikes in years and it was quite enjoyable riding them to the beach in the evenings. The trip was great, Seabrook Island was beatiful, and the house was even perfect.

We stayed in this beautiful house for Christmas and New Years. As other guests have said, the photos somehow do not do it justice. It has a wonderful lay out, really nice furniture, a spectacular kitchen, a vino temp (how fun)...the list goes on. We were so comfortable and relaxed. The view of the marsh is just gorgeous, we saw great wildlife. The beach is not far, you can easily bike it. We are going to be guests again.

I rented from a great couple, the Hunts’ who were very concerned about meeting our needs. The house was exactly as they described. We even stayed over Sunday instead of departing Saturday. I plan on returning as soon as I can. I brought my horse and was extremly satisfied with the equestrian center and loved riding on the beach.

We have enjoyed 6 VRBO rental properties over the last 3 years and found this home to be the most spacious, comfortable and convenient to amenities. It was immaculate on arrival and the gourmet kitchen and beautiful bathrooms are well equipped. The clubhouse pools are large and the beach perfect for long walks. the neighbors are friendly and offered the use of their dock for fishing. If we return to the Charleston area,we would want to stay at this home. Sincerely, Judy and George

Yet another guest comments on my photography skills and even offers their own photos: "My family and I really enjoyed our stay at your house. The house was beautiful; your pictures did not convey how nicely the house was constructed. I loved the open living area, the long deck with 2 screened sections and the large kitchen with the gas burners was a cook's dream. The island offered everything a family would want during their stay; the community was relaxed, quiet and welcoming. This was a very nice change from the over crowded beaches we have visited prior to this trip. The island is not located too far from the city of Charleston, the short drive allowed us the opportunity to site see, visit museums and shop. Once our shopping spree was over we were very happy to get back to Seabrook were the crowded streets and the hustle and bustle was non-existent. Once I look at all my pictures if I have any that display the beauty of the Seabrook and/or your house I will Email them to you. Who knows you may want to use them in your advertisement for the house."

Another guest fournd our layout to be family friendly as indicated below; "Jack I received the check for the deposit - thank you.  It reminded me to let you know that we thoroughly enjoyed the house and it was one of the best properties we have rented over the years in the Seabrook/Kiawah area.  The kitchen with the gas stove was fantastic and the whole layout of the house was very family friendly. All the best with your future rentals, C" I also enjoy cooking on the 5 burner DCS cooktop as it provides both superior high temperature performance and great simmer control.
