This fine resort is in a gated community called Burnt Store Marina. You can walk, bike or toodle around in golf carts in the pedestrian/bike friendly community. There are two yacht basins, with this property on one of them. This marina is the gateway to the gulf and the islands of Sanibel, Captiva and Useppa. You can charter a boat for personal sailing or go aboard the charter boat to islands where you can hike, camp, go shelling or eat at great funky and fun restaurants such as Cabbage Key. Pine Island is a short drive from your condominium with numerous waterfront, seafood restaurants. For day trips, you can visit Sarasota (great art museums, shopping, Ringling Brothers, etc.) and further to the north Tampa, the home of Busch Gardens. It's only a two and one-half hour drive over Alligator Alley (Hwy.75)to Ft. Lauderdale or northeast to Orlando.
Nearby is the quaint town of Punta Gorda, with fine restaurants, Fisherman's Village (also chartering available for fishing, etc.) where you can sit on the deck of Harpoon Harry's and enjoy a magnificent view of Charlotte Harbor. Downtown are several fine restaurants that rival those in Naples. The town of Naples is about an hour's drive with many sights and "Caribbean Gardens" (zoo).
Whether you enjoy the serenity and beautiful views of the Marina, sipping cocktails on your private lanai and swimming in the tropical pool in a marina setting or venturing out to all kinds of adventures, you will have the time of your life!

- Nearby are fine restaurants as well as casual dining. Miniature is golf 20 minutes away. 27 Holes of Executive Golf on site, numerous public access golf nearby. The Shell Factory is an interesting nearby attraction. Charming downtown Punta Gorda is minutes away with great shopping and eating! Movies and theaters about a 45 minute drive. Take a day cruise on the Kingfisher Fleet from Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda or take the Tropic Star from Bokeelia and be left all day on Cayo Costa Island. Cayo Costa is accusable only by boat and roam the miles of deserted Gulf beach. The shelling is outstanding. The Tropic Star will also leave you on Cabbage Key, only accessible by boat and whose restaurant is the inspiration for the song "Cheeseburger in Paradise." Bareboat Yacht Charters in the marina, boat rentals in Bookelia and Punta Gorda.

Owner Description
Your hosts are Tom and Gay Weekes who live locally in Punta Gorda Isles. We manage this property ourselves so we are available should you need anything. We lived in Harbor Towers ourselves when we moved to Punta Gorda permanently in 2001. We therefore, invested money in upgrades, such as high end stove/microwave/convection; 18" tile laid on the diagonal, some custom features that improved the model, extra insulation on MBR wall for sound insulation, bull nose corners, etc. We take a good deal of pride in maintaing the unit and someday may move back in!! We enjoy vactioning there ourselves on occasion with our family & we moor our boat outside for a fun family time. We love the marina and know you will too. We are both realtors for Keller Williams Realty in Punta Gorda; if you ever have any questions re: properties, don't hesitate to call. We are avid boaters in the region and love what it has to offer.
We have two adorable Bichons that we take almost everywhere, so we are pet friendly. We moved here from Telluride, CO and also lived in Thousand Oaks, CA prior to that. We love to travel and vacation...just like you! Please come and be our guests in our lovely condo!!

We fell in love w/ Burnt Store Marina and at one time owned two condos there. We spent some time at them prior to moving here full time. We loved the view at the Harbor Towers and thought the building was absolutely gorgeous..not to mention the tropical pool by the marina.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
We enjoy the outdoor kitchen by the pool and barbeque which allows us fun dinners when we visit. On Thursday nights there is always a social by the pool. We belong to the Burnt Store social membership which we can pass on to renters. This gives you discounts for various things at the golf club & you would be allowed to participate in social events that non-members can not attend. Just ask me to let the club know you want these privileges & they will give you a card.

Just returned from a two week stay at Burnt Store Marina. This gated complex is terrific and homey. It is a lovely and friendly community. A great place to unwind and escape the miserable Northeast winter. As for the condo and the 7th floor of the Harbor Towers, it met all our expectations. As we have family at Burnt Store, we knew exactly what was in store. The Towers are clean and very well maintained. This condo has a gorgeous view overlooking the marina, the gulf and the sunny horizon. We spent any time in the condo on the balcony taking in the views, reading, playing cribbage or pursuing any other excuse to laze outside. The condo was very quiet; I wasn't aware of other guests in the Towers. The ammenities in the area are plentiful. The condo owners were terrific to deal with. They were very patient with my many, many inquiries as this was my first time renting through VRBO. The rental went without a hitch. In a word, they were completely trustworthy (and this is top priority when planning a getaway). I would not hesitate to stay at this condo again and offer ringing endorsements for the owners. As for the condo per se, it was clean, well maintained and replete with the comforts of home. You can't go wrong visiting Burnt Store, staying at this condo and dealing with the owners. If life goes according to schedule, we will return next year! Just a quick note on the golf. I am a "golfing snob" playing at beautiful 18 hole courses. These three 9 hole courses are executive courses. The Heron and Pelican courses are lovely; the Osprey course is marginal. We walked 9 holes every afternoon. I was able to take my wife and kids out to the courses and they had a great time. The courses aren't Pebble Beach but they were great for the family and the kids never tired of seeing the alligators. I was happy to use the time to work on my short game and you couldn't beat the price.
Recommended for:Families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+.
