My husband & I rented this unit for our family vacation with our 2 teenage sons & our 9-year-old son. Having never stayed at Mexico Beach I wasn't sure what to look for as far as location, but this unit was perfect. It was much closer to the beach than I realized when we made the reservation-literally at the base of the pier. Our boys fished every evening at sunset. We took kayaks & snorkel equipment with us and enjoyed a trip to Crooked Island one day and another to St. Joe Peninsula. There is a convenience store at the end of the road as well as an ice cream parlor & souvenir shop, & the marina is close by as well. We were worried about having a place to keep the kayaks & all the beach equipment, but the fenced in back yard area was ideal. The back screened porch has been renovated as an extra bedroom with bunkbeds for 3 people, so there were more rooms than we expected. The beds were extremely comfortable, & the kitchen was well-equipped for the meals we prepared at the condo. We ate at Killer Seafood, Toucan's & Mango Marley's & while all were good I highly recommend Mango Marley's-especially the bleu cheese chips. I would recommend this condo to friends & family & hope to use it again myself!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

We really enjoyed our stay at 'A Pier Away'. It is very nicely decorated, the living room furniture & the beds are VERY comfortable, and it's a great location. The beach is beautiful and a very short walk. I liked being able to park right outside the door to load and unload too. Wonderful place for families!!Did you find this review helpful?
