Monthly rentals only---Our custom home sits at the tip of a beautiful point gently sloping down to the water's edge 50 feet from the high tide line. The design and orientation of the house were optimized for for 180-degree + views of the ocean, and year-round sunsets over Vancouver Island. Construction was completed in 2005 and is tastefully appointed with comfortable furnishings and lots of windows and French doors to alow the natural beauty of the area to flow into the house. There is a remarkable balance of bliss and inspriation here that makes it the perfect place to relax, play, or even work (if you want to stimulate your creativity in this pristine setting). Salt Spring Island is the largest of the Canadian Gulf Islands and is a mecca for artists and specialty farmers, making it an ideal get-away vacation spot. From May to October the town of Ganges hosts a weekly Saturday outdoor market where you can buy farm-fresh vegetables, island-made cheeses, herbs, teas, homemade treats, as well as arts and crafts.
You can also tour the artist's open studios for a more thorough experience of their talents. There is also an established performing arts community on the island that offers live theatre and music performances. Salt Spring Island is only a 35-minute ferry ride to Vancouver Island for short drives to Victoria, Butchart Gardens, and other points of interest.
Strictly speaking, residential homes are not allowed to be rented as short-term vacation rentals (less than 1 month) on Salt Spring Island due to a local by-law put into effect by the Islands Trust Association.
