A Family Tradition
A Family Tradition
My family and I have been traveling to the Outer Banks for three years, and “Seaclusion” is the only place we will stay! The amenities this home offers allow you great flexibility. There are wonderful sleep spaces for children and adults, and the great room upstairs offers tremendous views and a warm welcoming space to share time and memories. A fully stocked kitchen and Weber grill out back offer versatility in dining options. There are also many interesting activities to do that are a stone-throw away! From paved bike trail rides into quaint Duck Village and short walks to the private beach, to local attractions that the whole family can enjoy, “Seaclusion” truly has something for everyone—not to mention the pool and hot tub in the back yard, where you can relax and unwind. It is no wonder that our family has been coming here for three summers in a row, and everyone looks forward to the family photo in front of “Captain Seaclusion”! We are already thinking about next summer’s trip!

"Girls Week"Guest comment entered by owner
We have stayed at Seaclusion in Duck for many years. This year, for girls week, my best friend's boyfriend planned a surprise proposal on the beach! Although he " crashed " the beginning part of girls week, it was a life changing moment we will remember forever! He hired a professional from Florida, to help him build a sand sculpture. He asked her to marry him on the beach. Unforgettable! Our next unforgettable event was the addition of another little girl to our group! My daughter Quinn was born in April, and this OBX vacation was her first visit to the beach and the pool. Seaclusion will forever be treasured in my heart because of the memories made here. Every morning, we made it down to the beach for a sunrise walk and even walked in to town one morning. We noticed the new updated Wee Winks market (what an improvement!!) and many new and interesting shops. Our crowd ranged in ages 2 months to Grannies. There was plenty of room for all of us. I especially liked my room with easy access to the hammock swing on the deck, where Quinn was rocked to sleep every day, to the sound of the Ocean waves. This is our eleventh year at Seaclusion, thank you Karen, for sharing your home with us, and being the central hub for us to relive our own childhood memories while creating new ones for the next generation. Your home is perfect for our girls week destination...we will enjoy all of our wonderful photos taken, until next year's adventure..... same time, same place!

Perfect for us!
Thank you Karen for allowing us to enjoy your home. It ws perfect for us. My son and daughter in law were delighted, and called it PERFECT. Their two small children loved the yard. Our four year old grandson is autistic and this was a wonderful place for him. He loved the pool - quite the swimmer. We brought our bikes and took numerous ride, although it can be a bit scarry in town, as the cars go way over the 25 speed limit, and do not always stop at cross walks. We loved the Seafood Maarket in town and last night had them steam our lobsters....yum! Thank you again, we had a lovely time!

Lots of Amenities
We had a great week here at the beach house. There were four adults and seven children, so having the pool, hot tub, sand box and swingset were awesome. We too, like the last people staying, brought our son who is autistic, having the fenced yard was perfect for him, as well as all the other children. We did a lot of activities all around. We ventured to Hatteras and climbed the light house. We climbed the sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge, and we shopped and ate A LOT! We also did a little fishing and even caught a sting ray. Thank you so much for the use of your home and all its amenities. We appreciate all it had to offer.

A Great Time!
We had a great time! This was the first time we had a home with a pool and hot tub, and was definately a hit with our five year old and eighteen month old! We had afternoon games of pool volley ball. Even my Mom participated! We went ghost crabbing on the beach, hit the shops in the village, and played putt putt at two different places. We had our bikes, and thouroughly enjoyed riding around on them. We collected shells and had wonderful weather the entire week. Our vacation was absolutely fantastic. Thank you for sharing your house with us! High Cotton was great BQ, Aqua was good, and on the water..kids loved it, Blue Point outside area great, food OK and Red Sky Caffe was Great!

Home Away from Home!Guest comment entered by owner
Home Away from Home!
Our second time here, and we feel like its home away from home. The secluded house, the sounds of the Ocean from the deck, the warm pool, and gorgeous beaches provided the perfect back drop for a great week with the family. We feel like we got away from it all! My daughter does not want to go home and frankly, who can blame her. Thank you for having everything we needed to make a three year old happy, from the toys, to the beach rides in the big wagon. WE WILL SEE THIS PLACE NEXT YEAR!!

All We Had Hoped.... and More!
All We Had Hoped.... and More!
First, let me begin by THANKING Karen, the home owner. Karen was quick to answer any question I had prior to our departure. Once we arrived to the OBX, the home and surrounding area was all she had described. We felt extremely comfortable, safe and at ease in this wonderful beach house, SeaClusion! Not only was our walk to the beach just 3 minutes away, but the beach, itself, was clean, family friendly...and simply, beautiful! Our clean and well maintained home was perfect; well equipped kitchen, kid friendly and spacious! We enjoyed a wide range of activities while in Duck: the backyard pool, para-sailing, a wonderful seafood dinner at the Sunset Grill, hang-gliding (my grandson...not me! :-) , bike rides to town (really, only about a 15 min. walk if you don't have bikes), walking the boardwalk, shopping, jeep ride to see the wild horses in Corolla and of course, the beach! We will cherish our time at SeaClusion and the OBX for a long time to come!!!

A Wonderful Week
Thank you for renting your OBX home to us. We had a wonderful week. Seaclusion is everything you want in a beach house. Access to the beach is no more then a three to five minute walk. The neighborhood is quiet and great for families, especially with young children. The grand children enjoyed all the play equipment, sandbox, toys and books. They especially loved the pool. With the rain on Tuesday, all day, and Wednesday morning, the pool was a blessing to all of us. We all enjoyed our week in OBX.

I can't say enough about our girls week in Duck, and Seaclusion. This was a wonderful and quiet "home away from home"! The birthday gal had no clue this wees was her birthday present from all of us. Seaclusion offered the perfect quiet respite us girls love! It was very clean and felt so comfortable - the perfect choice for us! We enjoyed the short walk to the beach..... so private and beautiful - much closer than we thought! We sampled many of fine restaurants in the OBX area with very little lines or crowds.... So much to see and experience. We all agreed that it felt so good walking in the door of such a comfortable home at the end of each day.... Our trip to Ocracoke Island was a wonderful adventure and an amazing experience for all of us! I would highly recommend this day trip. Thank you for a vacation filled with lasting memories of our best friends birthday bash with the girls.

BACK AGAIN !
BACK AGAIN !
This was our second visit to the OBX and Seaclusion. The forecast showed rain but it was sunny and beautiful every day. I have to say even if it rained we would still have had the best time ever, being together with my family is priceless and this was the perfect place for all of us. We enjoyed the backyard swimming pool and hot tub. My 3 yr old learned how to swim with a little help from his 2 sisters. The gas grill was a plus this year and was used quite often. Pop-Pop had fun playing the grill master and the kids enjoyed the show from the picnic table. Ghost crab hunting with the flashlights that Karen provided gave us another fantastic memory, I never laughed so hard. We took our shovels and buckets this time and at the end watched the crabs scurry all over the beach when we let them go. Our outings included pizza in Southern Shores, at Karen's recommendation, brought home some Rita's water ice and enjoyed the vast selection of movies at the house. The Ocean was still a little cold for me but it didnt stop the kids or Pop-Pop, another fantastic memory, I keep seeing the smiles on all their faces and still hear their hardy laughter. The only way I could walk away at the end of our week was knowing we will do this again next year. Thank you Karen for sharing your beautiful home; all of your tastefully done decor and all of the games, movies, etc. etc. did not go un-noticed and very much appreciated. WE WILL BE BACK!
