Great location! Quiet, beautiful house. I would love to go back in the summer, but the winter was incredible. The lake was frozen, very fun to walk on. The area is very friendly, very close to Burlington and excellent skiing. I would defintely go back!

My husband and I stayed here recently for four wonderful days. Our daughter attends UVM and we decided we would like to stay somewhere outside of Burlington when we came to visit her. This house turned out to be absolutely perfect! It is very spacious, comfortable, and furnished beautifully. The kitchen is well equipped and the owner has done a wonderful job of providing everything you could possibly need to cook a great meal. Duane, the owner, was easy to reach when we had any questions. The lake view is beautiful and just as described! We also had our well behaved dog with us. There are several restaurants that we enjoyed while staying on Way Lane. The Black Sheep in Vergennes is excellent for dinner. We also had several breakfasts and lunches at 3 Squares Cafe, also in Vergennes that we would highly recommend. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and definitely plan on coming back to Way Lane the next time we visit our daughter! Highly recommended!

Wonderful home and everything is there. Plenty of games for young children, teenagers and adults. The canoes and kayaks were a definite plus for our active teenagers. The owner was very prompt in replying to emails and quickly refunded our deposit after our stay. However, I'm surprised that a previous reviewer checked the box about it being good for people with disabilities. There are a few steps that must be negotiated. This didn't affect us at all but thought I should point this out.
Owner response:Thanks for the wonderful review, so glad everyone had such a good time. We try to provide something for everyone. Also thanks for pointing out the people with disabilities comment in a previous review. Not sure what disabilities they were talking about but if there is problems with stairs this may not be a good fit. Once down the 12± fairly gentle stairs to the main level someone could get along fine since the dining, sitting, deck, bath and two bedrooms are on that level. The upper level, lower level and beach could be a big problem though. My 94 year old Mother is sooo lucky to be nimble enough to even be able to get down to the beach, we are blessed. Enjoy the rest of your summer. Thanks again, Duane

Our family including grandparents, uncles and aunts rented this property in late May for our daughter's graduation from Middlebury College We were thrilled to discover that it was as beautiful as the photos on the website. It was well maintained and super clean. The owner pays attention to every detail. Everything you may need is there. It was like being at home only better. The views are breathtaking! The owner was very patient with the many questions I had concerning the rental. The drive to Middlebury is very short and very pretty. We had 2 fabulous dinners at 2 Brothers in Middlebury and the Bobcat Cafe in Bristol, VT. All other nights we were at the fabulous dining table at the lake house. We all hope to return to this magical place in Vermont. Thank you!

Everything was great even better then we hoped for. The house was great everything was perfect from the ice maker on the fridge to the fire pit to roast marshmellows. I think we spent most of our time skipping stones fishing or just palying on the water. Just a nice relaxing fun time for family and friends.

Thanks so much!!! We had a wonderful visit and your home was perfect. Plenty of extras, very clean and just as described. We did a ton while we were there. Went on the Ben and Jerry's Tour, took a 10 mile bike ride through fields, woods, and back roads of Vermont, the men went to Lake Placid (which we had been to 5 years ago) while they women and kids went to Lake Dunmore, tubed down the Ausable Chasim in NY. The 4 adults went into Vergennes and had a fabulous dinner at Black Sheep Bistro, spent a day in Burlington and visited the campus of UVM (which our senior is seriously looking at attending :), took a boat cruise around Lake Champlain and last but not least spent 1/2 day at Shelbourne Farms. With all that we still were able to relax and enjoy your home. The wrap-around porch is the perfect place for playing games or having coffee in the morning and wine at night :). We watched plenty of movies (thanks for the wonderful selection) and fished and watched the dogs swim in the lake. Again, thanks for your wonderful home and have a great rest of the summer.

We rented this for a family gathering for a college graduation. It was ideal for young and old alike. The 20 somethings took the smaller kids for canoe rides. Local villages and cemetaries provided fun for the older geneology buffs. Middlebury and Burlington are close enough for frequent restaurant or museum visits. We went to Shelburne Farms. After the extended family left, we had a restful few days contemplating the lake and enjoying the sunny weather. We enjoyed the extremes for joyous family fun and contemplative peace. Once of our best vacations ever. Especially thoughtful are the amentities. Wireless, satelite TV, kitchen gadgets, boats, expresso machine, ipod base and speakers...touches beyond the norm in a rental. Comfortable furniture for all ages. The decor is that of one's personal home, not vacation castoffs. The house is spacious, we never felt as if we were in each others' way. Owner communicates readily and was very accomodating. Our family will definitely consider visiting again.
