Let me begin by saying that Fred, the owner of this cabin, was amazing to work with. Very personable and available at pretty much all times. If you had to leave a message, you'd get a return call quickly. He was easy to get along with, and very understanding with a certain 'situation' we had with our children while we were there. The house is very roomy and set up well. Pretty much everything you need is in the cabin. Lots of towels, extra blankets and bed sheets. They even supplied the garbage bags and dish washing powder and liquid, which was nice to not have to purchase on arrival. There were plenty of dishes, pots, pans and bakeware, and I cooked every meal, for 6 people, all week long. The house is relatively secluded but you can walk to the park, playground, running/walking track, and even the swim center and tennis courts if you take the back way in. Every person we met was very nice. The house more than accomodated my husband and I, our four children, and our dog. It was a fantastic stay. The only downside I found was that the downstairs stayed very cold when the air was on, even for my husband, who is typically complaining of being too hot, but would get warm very quickly if you turned the air off. The upstairs was always comfortable. The back deck is nice and large and has a grill that is both charcoal and gas, although is only set up for charcoal. Our kids, ages 16,15,13 and 11 had a great time. It was easy for them to find plenty to do with the pool, beach, canoes, peddle boats, trails, playground, and rock water slide. Our 15 yr old girl and 16 yr old boy spent most of the time playing beach volleyball with a group they had met and had a fabulous time. They made some really good friends. The IGA is the closest grocery store and is decent. Although, the produce is a bit lacking. However, if you ask the produce man wandering around, he will more than gladly go to the back to find the freshest they have of whatever you may be in need of. We generally head to Florida every summer but decided to keep it closer to home this year. We were not at all disappointed and will return for sure!

Great New Year's Trip

My church group rented this house for our annual New Year's trip. The house was spacious and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and answered my questions accurately and promptly. The only drawback perhaps was parking. There are only two spots to park. Because we had more cars, some of us had to park at the playground. Our cars were fine there, but most people would like their cars closer to the house. It was a great price, and fit our needs. We would definitely rent it again.

My wife and our 5 kids (ages 8 and under) and I went here the week after Christmas. The place has plenty of space for sleeping. It is very close to play field and playground, in which we built a snowman. It also has a golf course in which we went sledding and built a very big snowman. Big Canoe has hiking trails everywhere including ones to water falls. There are short ones in which my family and I did. It even has a 4x4 jeep trail. This place was excellent and very reasonable for the price.

We really enjoyed your home in Big Canoe. It was the perfect location for us, since we were attending a wedding in the Chapel, with the reception at the Country Club. Thank you for opening your home and also for the very reasonable price.

We had a wonderful family vacation at your cabin ! It was so close to the playground and open field where we flew kites and liitle wooden airplanes. We also had a blast at the two swimming complexes and the lake ! Thank you for sharing your home with us and hosting an affordable family vacation. We had four generations .............my mother, daughter, grandchildren, and ourselves. We will surely be back !

Lovely and spacious home at an excellent price! Loved that our beagle was welcomed and a nice playground was so close. Owner is wonderful to work with! I would highly recommend to others that are interested in economy, convenience, and a family/pet friendly environment at Big Canoe.

Our family enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, well maintained and roomy home. I especially enjoyed the serenity of the large back deck with it's hillside view of a brook. The home is quietly located a block from the playground and ballfield, and about 1/2 mile from the pool, lake, and activity center. Big Canoe is a lovely, quiet mountain community about 1 1/2 hrs. from Atlanta and Chattanooga with many lovely towns and parks between.

Absolutely beautiful, and CHEAP! You can't get a hotel in Atlanta for that and you don't have the mountains there. It was so accesible to everything, absolutely relaxing and enjoyable. *****

This was an amazing place to stay! It was so close to the lake, fitness center, pool, and most importantly the gate. We felt right at home in this cabin. It was so cozy and quaint. This cabin will definitely be our first choice the next time we visit.
