La Voie Lactee is a carefully restored two bedroom townhouse, full of character and atmosphere, with ancient wooden beams and terracotta tiled floors. It is located on the Rue de la Gendarmerie, just a few minutes from the main square of Lauzerte, a town officially listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France. La Voie Lactee means the Milky Way, which was a name for the medieval pilgrimage route to the Shrine of Santiago Compostella in Spain. The pilgrimage route passes through Lauzerte .
The kitchen, living and dining areas are located on the ground floor and are decorated with sunflower yellow and cranberry colored toile window treatments and furniture. The kitchen is fully fitted with a small refrigerator, stove top, oven, microwave, washing machine and many other small kitchen appliances. The dining table seats 6 easily. The living area has two comfortable sofas and an antique cocktail table. There is also a television with basic service, DVD/ VHS player, a stereo and many CDs, DVDs and VHS tapes. Games, guide books and periodicals are also provided .
The first floor bedroom has a queen size bed and it is furnished with antique furniture and accented with floral rose coloured linens and draperies. There is a large working fireplace, a beamed ceiling and a sitting or reading area. The bathroom has a large shower, a sink and toilet. Initial towels, linens, robes and sleepers are provided .
The second bedroom, perfect for additional traveling companions or children, is on the top floor and has a queen size bed and a single bed. The light and airy décor is in shades of pale violet and yellow. The window overlooks the ancient rooftops of Lauzerte . |
