Great, small apartment in central location

My husband and I stayed at this apartment in late August, 2011. It was everything Fabrice has described. Although it is very small, it was clean, well-equipped, and full of character (old stone walls, broad beam ceiling, etc.) The best thing about it is the location. The street itself is fairly small / quiet, but it is only a block from bustling cafes, bars, shops, etc. It is very close to multiple Metro stops, Pont Neuf, Notre Dame, grocery store, excellent food... My only complaint is that the computer is very old and slow. I would recommend this property!

I have for many years rented apartments in several major cities and this is one of the top ones. Besides the exellent location, it has basically al you can ask for. For sleeping a loft facing the quit courtyard with a window that can be opened when it´s hot. It´s obvious that it can be busy on weekend evenings, but close the windows facing the street and you will be ok in the living-room. There is a moderna washingmachine and laundry is dried preferably on the heated towel rail. A lovely kitchenpart with virtually everything you need inkluding a good refrigerator (who needs a freezer with lots of food shops on the streets outside). TV, PC with printer and free phone! (and working AC) This is a great apartment and we have once again booked in the spring 2012. It can be warmly recomended!! Hakan Svahn and Anita Oberg, Sweden

Our "home" in Paris.

We have now stayed twice in this apartment - both times in the Summer season. The location is ideal for all of the reasons mentioned by other reviewers. The apartment itself is clean, comfortable and well equipped and offers great value for the heart of St Germain. We now consider it our "home" in Paris. Fabrice could not be more helpful and thoughtful and we certainly haven't experienced any issues with his exchange rate as reported in a recent review. In addition, the washer is also a dryer, as a quick online French-English dictionary check would have revealed, so no need to "hang clothes out to dry". We look forward to returning.............

Great location but some trade-offs to consider

The apartment is in a great location. The trade-off is street noise can be an issue depending on where you are sleeping (the sofa bed in the living room area is noisy - especially on weekend nights-- but the loft is quiet). The AC unit in the main room (there is not one is the loft area) needed maintenance -- so bad that I cleaned the filters myself. It looked as though they have not been cleaned for years). The unit does not cool the apartment well. The "loft" faces a courtyard and is quiet but gets hot (Fabrice brought a fan over and that solved the problem but we were there in early May and the temperature only was about 72 - 80 degrees so that might be sufficient in the summer). The loft is very close to the ceiling as others noted by others. There is no dryer -- just a washer - so you will need to hang up your clothes to dry. There is no DVD player (just a DVD drive with the PC -- that did not work). Having the PC (and free international calling) was a big plus (no Wi Fi in the apartment though). Regarding Euro vs US Travelers Cheques. Let's just say that the exchange rate Farbrice used was MUCH higher than published rates at local banks and on the web (instead of $1.50 to 1 Euro he charged us $1.80 to the Euro). To avoid confusion or problems bring Euro based travelers Cheques. No freezer but a small refrigerator.
Owner response:Dear Xiomara, a bad exchange rate does not justify writing all these inaccuracies.

Merci Bien Fabrice. We had a lovely time in this apartment. Fabrice even went so far as to buy us a new alarm clock, when I was concerned about waking up in time for our departing flight. The apartment is situated in the best possible location for restaurants and tourism. The bedroom is in the back, so a quiet nights rest is easy eventhough this is a very busy area at night!

This was our second stay in Fabrice's apartment...the first in 2008. Fabrice is a perfect host and made us feel very welcome. This apt is in an excellent location for a week or two in Paris being close to two metros, a stroll across the Seine to Notre Dame and the Louvre and outside the front door dozens of cafes, restaurants, shops and a large supermarket. Recently renovated the apt is kept in immaculate condition...having a washer/dryer and internet connection was an added bonus. Highly recommended and well priced...we will return!!!

My Husband and I stayed at this apartment for a week in July 2010 and it was just perfect. The apartment is only 2 blocks from the Odeon metro and there are lots of bakery and fresh produce markets in the area to do some grocery shopping at. Also, the apartment has a very good air conditioning unit that keeps the apartment nice and cool, a great thing to have during the heat of the summer. Fabrice also stocked the unit with cold drinks for us when we arrived, a hair dryer (thank goodness!) and even a outlet converter so we could charge things like our cameras, etc. The computer was also great because it allowed us to keep in touch with our family and research when museums, etc would be open. Thank you for a wonderful time and if we return, we would definitely stay at this apartment again!

Bon jour ... celebrating my birthday in Paris last week was a “blast”. My girlfriend and I arrived super early on Sunday, and met Fabrice who greeted us at his cozy parisian flat. It was really cute and very clean - not to mention the pull out and loft area super comfortable. The loft area has a separate tv and best suited for someone who is shorter or kids. Heated towel rack was key as was washer & dryer. We usually ate breakfast there in the morning or ate at one of many bakeries in the neighborhood. A large grocery store is around the corner as is the flower market, several cafes, bistros, restaurants, wine, and clothing stores. You are really a walk to just about every major touristy site, and we only took the rail once to Sacre Coeur. The neighborhood is quiet, very safe and the 6 arrondissement is perfect for getting to/from airport, also easy assess to several train stops and buses. Parisians are friendly and extremely helpful, and my girlfriend and I plan to make Paris our annual girls getaway ... staying in the flat again. Thanks Fabrice for your kind hospitality and help during our stay.Au revoir & a’biento!Chef Carole and Betty M.

We stayed in this beautiful apartment for a week in early January when the weather in Paris was very cold but the apartment was beautiful and cosy, everything you could ask for, by the end of the week we felt like we were locals. Easy access to the underground, great restaurants and art galleries, will definately stay here again

we just returned from our stay in france. for our first week (8/28/09 - 9/5/09) we stayed at figaro. fabrice met us at the apartment and acquainted us with the apartment and immediate neighborhood. the apartment was great and had everything that we required making our stay even more pleasurable. the location was very convenient to the sites we visited. initially we were concerned about the noise level however we were assured that the sounds from the busy street would not be problematic and they weren't. the apartment was very quiet. knowing that there was a washer/dryer made our lives a lot easier. a bonus was the internet availablilty. we highly recommend this apartment. you really feel very much part of the neighborhood.
