  We Came Back!! Villa del Caribe has been declared as my birthday spot!! Thanks go out to the entire staff for an exceptional job in making my return birthday trip sooooo special!! THANKS!! I did not think the trip could exceed my first visit last year, but it did. I had surprise visits from family members and that just added to the celebration and the staff made everyone so comfortable on short notice, THANKS Mark & Chris for sharing your awesome villa and staff! We are making plans to return for my 2013 birthday bash!! Pat, Friends & Family

  Once I booked our vacation in February, I was anxiously awaiting the day we would arrive. Greeted by the house manager and staff, I immediately knew from their warm greeting that THIS was going to be incredible. Traveling with me was my husband, our 18 yr old daughter & her boyfriend, our 15 yr old daughter and her best friend, and our 11 yr old son & his friend...The kids divvied up the upper floor of the house and my husband & I had the first floor to ourselves... honestly, I NEVER walked up the steps again after our first 5 minutes there. Our family travels quite a bit and stay at luxury resorts world wide, but the charm of NOT being in a busy touristy area was what appealled to me most. This vacation was taken to relax and unwind and that is exactly what we did. We woke to beautiful breakfasts and the pool had already been attended to... the smells that were created by our cooks were worth millions... absolutely incredible food, for every meal. We relaxed in our pool, strolled on the beach and took several excusions during the week. The jeep tour was great seeing the countryside, but the long walk on very rocky ground to see 27 waterfalls was a bit much.. horseback riding on the beach for the kids *LOVED IT*, dune buggies on the beach *LOVED IT*, chartered a private boat for fishing, ehh.. thumbs down... they trolled, which means the staff baited and set your hook and you just rode on the boat.. didnt get to touch the rod unless a fish was on it.. which for our 500 spent, they got one fish [the upside was our housekeeper cleaned and cooked it, it was incredible], a day at Paradise Island *BEAUTIFUL & LOVED IT*... I think the BEST part was it was completely our schedule for whatever tickled our fancy the entire TEN days we spent there. The home was gorgeous, the views priceless. This was probably one of the best trips of my life. I will be returning very soon to the Dominican. I found the people to be warm and very humble. Every evening we made a dinner plate for our watchman, which he truly appreciated. any leftovers from our meals we gave to the staff the next day. They were so genuinely appreciative for our generosity. This is a vacation that I hope will stay forever with my children. It was remarkable.

  The most wonderful vacation that we have ever taken! From the minute we stepped off the plane in the Dominican Republic (two hrs late) we were welcomed by our wonderful driver waiting to bring us to our villa. We enjoyed the ride to the villa as he explained local points of interest along the way. He even stopped at a local market and bought us all a local cerveza. As we arrived at our villa we were welcomed by a wonderful staff. Gambino gave us our tour of this wonderful villa and we found it to be even more beautiful then the pictures on the website. Francesca amazed us with wonderful meals everyday which included local Dominican fare which we requested. She took care of every need we could ever have and really made our stay delightful. Moreno took wonderful care of the pool and grounds with it's beautiful tropical gardens and was even our grill cook our last night there. He was ready to help us with anything including cutting down some coconuts from the tree's on the property which Francesca made into some delicious pina coladas. Juan watched the property at night and even walked us to the local restaurants. Gus was extremely helpful in giving us all the information we needed to plan our daily activities, including a wonderful snorkeling trip on board a 72' Catamaran called the Party Cat. We also were able to take the sky cab up to Puerto Plata's highest mountain, and visit the local Amber factory, and the cigar factory as well as a city tour and shopping at some local shop. We enjoyed dinner right on the water and more fun at the local Casino which was a few blocks walk from our villa. My favorite time was waking up every morning and walking out on the veranda to look at the beautiful ocean directly in front of the villa. The only negative was the fact that we could not stay one more week. We will forever remember the wonderful staff of Villa Del Caribe and the wonderful welcoming people of the Dominican Republic for making this the most memorable vacation we have ever had.   You know the game, pictures always look so good. Well this home exceeds your expectations and is much better than any pictures can capture. Never before have my husband Bill and I been so relaxed and pampered! No sleepless nights here, the beds are perfect, the ensuite bathrooms are perfect, the air conditioning in the bedrooms are quite, cold and need I say, PERFECT! Francisca cooked whatever we had a whim for and kept the house clean, comfortable and cheerfull. Moreno kept the fabulous pool clean and ready to go. He even cut us coconuts and mangos (the sweetest you'll ever eat) from the trees on the property. As an avid gardner myself, I can fully appreciate the time, effort and expense spent making the grounds of this lovely Villa TRUELY beautiful. Moreno was always busy (with a smile on his face) tending the plants and grounds and pool. If you want perfection, relaxation and pampering, come to Villa De Caribe. The second week we spent at the "Villa" we never went any further than the pool! No reason to, perfection was here! Thank you Chris and Mark for all you kindness and assistance in making our long awaited vacation a dream come true. We recieved value way above the cost of this home for two weeks. It wasnt long enough! Hopefully we will be able to return to Villa De Caribe next year. We are already making plans for a family get together and this would be the perfect place.

  We literally just arrived home today (June 25th) and we couldnt wait to sit down to write our review of Villa Del Caribe. We would like to thank Mark and Chris for the attention to detail and quick responses to all of our questions and requests. if it werent for their attentiveness and genuine concern that all our needs were met, our trip would not have been the success it was!! THANK YOU! The home is absolutely amazing! the layout and spaciousness was planned with perfection in mind! there are so many places to just disappear if you want a moment to yourself! AND yet, the terraces and overall layout is perfect for entertaining large groups which we did! everything in and around the home is in working order. the bedrooms are spacious, the home is spotless. Mark and Chris provide everything you will need. we felt as if we were staying in a luxurious hotel but with the comfort of home! Now onto the AMAZING STAFF!! Mark and Chris, you are so very lucky to have such wonderful and caring people working at the Villa...we did not lift a finger the entire trip...I tried to sneak into the kitchen to help with the cleaning and cooking and Francesca and Maria summoned me back to the pool while they prepared our pina coladas! LOL...Absolutely AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING....we really didnt want to leave and our trip was WAY too short. We WILL BE BACK! thank you again!

  Villa Del Caribe is an AWESOME vacation rental. The Villa embodies beauty, relaxation, comfort and tranquility. Plenty of scenary, great pools, beautiful grounds, spacious inside and out. The entire staff, which includes housekeeper & cook, grounds keeper, Villa manager, night watchman & someone to accommodate any excursions you may want to partake in. Accommodations are top notch. Plenty of linens, reading materials, 2 flat screen tv's, wi-fi, beach towels, iron, hair dryers, games and cards. All bedrooms(5) are equipped with ceiling fans & air conditioner. Plenty of balconies throughout to look out onto the beach & picturesque surroundings. The Villa is walking distance from local restaurants, mini markets & souvernier shops. Ocean World(where you can swim with the dolphins), is also in walking distance. The Villa is very clean & was always kept immaculately. All the meals that were prepared were absolutely DELICIOUS!!!!The owners of the Villa, Mark & Chris Ravera made planning very easy from beginning to end. Thank you to you both for making my BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION in DR an AWESOME one!!!!!

  My main purpose for my trip to DR was to celebrate my 45th birthday with 5 other family and friends. We chose Villa Del Caribe based on online details & previous reviews from other guests. The Villa was EVERYTHING we expected and MORE! The Villa was well kept and very clean. The Villa provided us with 2 housekeepers & cooks (Franchesca & Rosa), grounds keeper(Moreno), Villa manager (Gambino), night watchman(Juan), and someone to give us information on excursions and things to do in the area(Gustavo). Franchesca and Rosa maintained the Villa immaculately, cooked whatever we wanted(all meals were DELICIOUS) & ALWAYS had the table set beautifully. We grew very fond of them. Gustavo took care of setting up all our excursions. We felt very safe with the night watchman. Moreno took good care of the grounds, and keeping the pool clean. The Villa, with it's 2 levels had balconies on each side of the 2 floors. Wherever you looked from the Villa, we had lovely, picturesque views! The pool area was to die for. Plenty of lounge chairs, cabana with a grill, other mini tables with chairs & plenty of beach towels. Villa Del Caribe embodies relaxation, comfort, tranquility & beauty. What more could anyone ask for?? If you NEVER left the Villa, it was All good!!! Provided with the Villa were reading materials, games, cards, 2 TV's(1 on eacg level), and Wi-fi. Plenty of linens, towels, hair dryers & iron. We woke up every morning to the sun bursting through our windows, the cracking of the waves from the beach(walking distance from the Villa), and the birds singing! The Villa had plenty of ceiling fans everywhere, and all of the bedrooms had their own ceiling fans & own air conditioners. The owners of the Villa, Christine & Mark Ravera made everything very easy with planning from beginning to end. Thank you guys so much for making my 45th birthday one I will NEVER forget!! Absolutely AWESOME!!!

  We, a group of three couples, stayed at this Villa for the first two weeks of March 2012.As people who have traveled extensively around the world this rates as one of the better places we have stayed at. From our initial contacts and subsequent conversations with Mark and Chris we had every confidence that we would not be disappointed. And we weren't! We are in 100% agreement with all the other 5 star comments made with regard to this Villa. The villa is very well designed and immaculately maintained. There is room to get together as a group, but also many nooks to find quiet moments for yourself. The highlight of this Villa is undoubtedly the staff employed by Mark and Chris. Francesca, Maria and Moreno exemplifies service and caring plus, plus, plus! Not only do they maintain the property in a spotless condition, prepare fantastic meals to your liking, but they also go out of their way to do just about anything to make your vacation special. Suggestions. Car. We found having a car to be a benefit for our two week stay. Money. Credit cards are taken at most establishments, but not all. US money is accepted everywhere. However, suggest purchasing some local currency at the airport when you arrive. Paradise Island Snorkeling. This was arranged by Gus, and was well worth the money. It is almost a full day trip, a good part of it spent getting to and from the island, which should be considered part of the excursion. Waterfalls. If you have a car this is a short drive from the villa and easy to find. We only did 7 waterfalls of the 27 available, but found that was sufficient for us retired folks. Again well worth doing but you should be in reasonable physical condition to undertake this excursion. Cabarete Beach. We drove to Cabarete for the day, went to an all-inclusive hotel on the East side of Cabarete, made a deal with the hotel to use all their for $25 per person. It is a beautiful beach and we had a very enjoyable day. Dining out. There are a few restaurants within walking distance of the villa. However, one needs to be cautious about what/where you eat. Besides eating at the villa, we consider Chris and Mady’s and Vulcano Pizza to be "safe". For fish food we would highly recommend a restaurant located on the highway half way to the falls. Bottom line, we have already recommended this Villa to a number of our friends. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy, Don and Uli, Eric and Sharon, Das and Judy.

  What a great vacation!! The house was beautiful and the staff so welcoming and gracious!! Even better than the pictures!! The beach was uncrowned and beautiful!! Ocean world is right next door and the kids had an amazing time there!! We hope to return someday!! Thank you to mark and Chris and to the awesome staff!!!

  I have been vacationing in Puerto Plata for the past 8 years on a regular basis and have always enjoyed the fun and beauty this area has to offer. Usually I would stay at a resort and have my friends who live in Dominican Republic pick me up to frequent the non tourist areas, bars, and restaurants. On this trip, because it was my 50th birthday, I decided to rent a villa so that my friends could stay and help me celebrate. I luckily stumbled upon "Villa Del Caribe" in Playa Cofresi. It is a beautiful majestic house that has been recently totally renovated. The rooms have very comfortable, pleasing furniture that blends beautifully with the Villa's character. It is located across from the beach and very near Ocean World which has a world class casino and restaurant. The staff at Villa Del Caribe were amazing. They cooked anything we asked and if we asked for something they couldn't cook, they went a bought it at a local place. Thank you for making my 50th birthday celebration a very special memory.
