For the second time my family and I came to this gorgeous place. We liked it so much that we just had to make all the way long from germany again. It's really worth doing it. It's such a charming place with everything you want and need. Nice, spacous rooms with tasteful interiour, music, dvds and TV for entertainment, boogie-boards, towels ect for the beach, fully equiped kitchen... my favorit place was actually the hammock on the balkony where you perfectly could enjoy the calmness or the roof terasse on the top while watching the stars at night. The property was well-maintained and clean and in Steve we had a great renter (have a look at all the paintings he did) The location is just perfect to go for swimming and snorcelling to nearby beaches. We defenetly would recommand this property to everybody and would love to have the chance to come back for a third time.

My family made the trip to Maui for a wedding, since we live all scattered about the world, this gathering was one of those unusual occasions where all members were in one place. This has not happened in years. To drive my point home, this house was the perfect location, size, with great amenities that made the family gathering much easier and very comfortable. We used every function the house had to offer (except the jacuzzi). All of your beach necessary items (towels, bodyboards, beach chairs) are already there for you - which makes your day at the beach happen nice and easy. 5min by car away from Wailea beach, and much more so great location with regards to that also. We also fired up the grill after a full day at the beach and watched the sunset as we cooked our delicious food. The house is spotless, and very spacious. Wonderful views from every window and I must say, the dine in lanai was my favorite spot. Not pictured, but there is a hammock there now - a great place for reading your book and dozing off to the sound of birds chirping. In short, wonderful place! You will be satisfied.

Steve's wonderful home was perfect for our adult family of 4, very spacious, very homey. We enjoyed our meals at the great dining room, screened off and the breeze came through. Steve is a great host always asking us if everything is going well. Mahalo for our great vacation!

The house was a perfect place for our family to spend a week in Maui. We had ages from 2 to 80 and it provided a great “home base” for us to explore all the magical wonders of Maui. The best beaches on the island are within minutes and since the house is centrally located, everything else is easy to get to. The house is wonderful, clean and very well maintained. It has everything you can possibly need and sits in the middle of an incredible garden. Tons of great restaurants are close by as well as a great Safeway for shopping. We picked fresh mangos off the tree every morning for breakfast—how cool is that! After spending hours hunting for the perfect place to stay for our family vacation, I can confidently say that for a great location, very reasonable price, beautiful accommodations and a great manager around to help you out with anything you need, I highly recommend this place.

"Just a few words to thank you for having us in your beautiful house. We enjoyed the space, specially the lanai with hammock and the sound of birds in your gorgeous garden. The house is big enough for our family. The kitchen is so well equipped that we didn't want to go out. We were happy to see how clean and well maintained the house is. Steve was really helpful through the whole process. We wish to come back soon to his house. "

We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. We had the second floor to ourselves (separate entrance; owner on first floor) as well as the lookout deck on top, where we could see the ocean and mountains--perfect for a morning cup of coffee or watching the sunset (got lots of photos!). We often had our meals on the screened lanai, which also provided lovely views of the yard. Check out the hammock! The place was neat as a pin, and had everything we needed as far as supplies to get us started--even beach towels. Beautiful hardwood floors, full kitchen, comfy couches, updated bathrooms, washer/dryer, iron, hairdryers. Great private second-floor deck the length of the house, where we enjoyed listening to the birds and watching the butterflies visit the flowering trees and bushes in the back yard. Although the house is in the middle of a neighborhood, the yard is very private, surrounded by plantings. Great location, and easy to get to beaches, shopping, restaurants, and activities. We especially enjoyed the submarine in Lahaina, the drive to Hana, and watching the whales play in the bay. Thank you, Steve, for a wonderful, relaxing stay!

This was a wonderful house, very spacious with great nearby access to the beaches without the crowds of the resorts. Keawakapu beach was our favorite, just a few minute drive away. Also good for kids with the big yard and beach toys provided. -stephanie

Our visit to Maui was highlighted with many activities on the island, whale watching, beaches, dinner cruises, to mention a few. Sun Maui Vacation Getaway provided a safe and secure, yet tranquil and beautiful home for us. We were able to grill dinner, lounge in the many areas around the property and enjoy the beautiful garden. The layout of the property provided privacy with sleeping quarters seperated by the living area. Bravo Steve for allowing us to enjoy our stay without distraction of property issues. Mahalo, Ron

We stayed at this wonderful 3 bedroom home. We had an excellent stay here. The home was beautiful and spacous for 6 people. This area is also very quiet so if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place, you are in luck. The home was very clean and had all the services that we needed including a gorgous kitchen and washer and dryer. The yard was emaculate where the house was surrounded by plenty of beautiful plants, trees and flowers. The house is approximately 5 minute drive to the nearest poplar beach. It is also within a 5 minute drive to the Wailea Shopping area and restarants. We highly recommend staying in this wonderful home.

The house is at Kihei with excellent beaches which all can be reached within a few minutes car ride. The house is comfortable for 5 persons. We liked the open dining room, the symetric house style, the second floor outlook with magnificant view to the ocean and to the sky. Spend at least 8 days to enjoy not only the beaches and waves, take a car ride along the coast to the east (Hana) and to the west (Lahaina), visit the volcano for a day. The next time when we visit Maui we will invite friends to join us.

Hi Steve, Just wanted to send you a little note telling you how we much we enjoyed staying at your home. After having heard the road noise from our hotel rooms on Molokai and being woken up at 2am by the chickens, waking up on our OWN time in those heavenly beds to the birds singing was wonderful! I personally LOVED the hammock. I am thinking about trading in my bed for a hammock. I know I will be telling anyone who is interested in renting a house on Maui about our experience in your house. Everything was wonderful! Thanks.

..having lived on Maui for 20 years, I was well aware of how scorching hot and humid it can be in July. The primary reason I chose this rental was because it is lists "air-conditioning" as a feature. In reality, there is a window AC unit in one bedroom, but the unit is older and loud, and it tends to trip the circuit breaker if used at the same time as a hairdryer. The temp in every other room of the house was in the 90s, even with ceiling fans on high, for the entire week I was there. (Since I was back on Maui for my daughter's wedding, getting dressed for each day's events in 90 degree heat was awful). If your vacation is between October and April, then I'm sure the tradewinds cooperate and make this rental a great experience. Unfortunately, I was relying on honesty in how the house was advertised, and I was sorely disappointed.
Owner response:The majority of guests to our Vacation rental understand our vacation home is not a hotel room or condo, and adjust to the heat here during their stay as the locals do every summer. Even though the days are hot in Summer, the nights are quite comfortable as a cool breeze drifts down Haleakala mountain. In addition to having air conditioning in the Master bedroom, we have installed heat reducing insulation throughout the entire roof of the home. We rely on cross breeze and fans to cool the spacious high ceiling living room, kitchen and lanai areas of the home. We do not advertise Air conditioning throughout the entire house as we do not want to mislead our guests in any way. In comparison to Miami or many other places in summer, Maui is quite pleasant apart from a few very hot days here and there. If you do not enjoy tropical climates and want to remain cool during your entire vacation, Maui is not the place for you during the summer months. Steve

5 of us stayed in this home on Maui (two married couples mid-twenties and mid-fifties and one 18 year old) and all of us were quite comfortable and pleased with the property. The landscaping was beautiful, the sunsets from the lookout deck were lovely, and the home itself was clean and very suitable for our purposes. The owner was very easy to work with- even though we had strange arrival and departure times. We would stay here again!

I stayed here in March 2008 with my husband, twins aged 4 and my parents. We had a wonderful time. The location is excellent; close to beaches, convenient for groceries, restaurants, etc. Kitchen is well-equipped and enclosed lanai is perfect for family meals. Very clean, nice extras such as boogie boards, cooler for picnics, etc. Very quiet neighborhood, peaceful garden, lots of outdoor room for kids to run around. An especially great getaway for families.

Great place for families, especially older kids. Love the screened in lanai - our daughter lived in the hammock reading when not at the beach. Close to all the beaches and shopping but away from the busy South Kihei Road. Rooms are nice and cool with the cross breezes - never used the AC once! Thanks again, Steve!

If you are want to avoid the hustle bustle of hotels, highways, and typical tourist scenes, this is a great alternative. The location is ideal, the space is immaculate and and owners are quiet and accommodating. I would recommend it to anyone that isn't looking for frills and thrills but instead is looking for a place to cool out.
