  We rented all of the casitas for our friends and family, and couldn't be happier with our experience. The casitas were clean and well maintained. The pool is cool and refreshing, which isn't always the case with some of the properties in Palm Beach. We stayed for 11 days and had our 40 person reception at the casitas, with catering from Manfred. Everything went perfectly and Manfred's food was splendid. We also ordered some pastries from Manfred throughout our stay and definitely recommend trying the chocolate croissants and pretzels. Roger and Manfred were easy to work with and very accommodating. The communities of Playa Grande and Palm Beach Estates were very welcoming and made you feel like locals. We will definitely be returning to Palm Beach/ Playa Grande and will be staying at the PGC on our next vacation.

  We had a great time during our stay at the Playa Grande Casitas! Located in the heart of the Playa Grande Estates, we found it to be perfect. We were a 3-minute walk from our favorite restaurant there, The Great Waltinis and about a 7-minute walk away from the beach. The surf break my husband so desired was a bit further, but he really enjoyed walking it in the morning and being able to hear/see all the wildlife! We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment with our two year old son and had plenty of room. My parents stayed in a studio and we would converge on our patio or in our kitchen most of the time. It worked out perfectly, because we had the privacy of our own place, but a wonderful and large space to share our time together;) The only negative I can elaborate on is that the kitchen was lacking in basic cooking utensils such as scissors, more than one knife, garlic press, etc. However, I am sure this is something they could have taken care of if I had remembered to bring it to the attention of Manfred when I saw him. Manfred was always able to help us out with whatever we needed. On one occasion we could not get the grill to work so we called the number provided and spoke to his wife who said he would be there to help as soon as he got back from SAN JUAN!! Even after such a long day, he came straight there and set us up! He also offered a bakery delivery service every other day where he'd pick up certain delicacies and deliver them to the casitas. WOW! All in all, we had a wonderful time at the casitas and can't wait to come back;)

  Our stay in Dec/12 at Playa Grande was the best. We have stayed in CR twice before but this was my favorite. The accomodation was perfect! Beautiful, clean, well maintained...We rented the bottom apartment with kitchen, and a up and down of the studio suites for our adult kids. Everyone had their privacy, with our apartment being home base for all cooking. Air conditioning was great for nighttime sleeping as it was 90-100 most days. Beds were comfortable, bedding very nice as well. The shower was great, never a problem having hot water. We drank the water as well. No problems. It was lovely waking in the morning and just walking out to the pool side, drinking cafe, watching the birds dive for the pool for a drink. Morning averaged 75 degrees, so a morning swim was often in order in the lovely pool that was maintained every morning by the hired staff. Also a walk on the beach (6 min walk away) was something peaceful to do as well. We may have seen at one time in our 10 days there a handful of people on the beach with us at the same time. The best sunsets ever. Our daughter celebrated her wedding reception at the Casitas as well. It was perfect. The fellas that maintain the property daily were wonderful at helping us set up for the wedding. Everything was made perfect. Manfred who manages the property is the best, only a phone call away. He catered the wedding meal for 40 or so people, everyone enjoyed this so much. Also Manfred and his wife have a bakery out of their home and deliver when you order the day before. The best chocolate (nutella) croissiants ever and also french bread, delivered warm on his motorcycle with sidecar. We did much exploring while there as well. Just a 5 min walk away is a small market that sells the bare necessities. Also there is a restaurant, the Bula Bula close by with a great Happy Hour. We ventured to Tamarindo (a bigger town with everything you would need) via boat ($1 per) that takes you across the canal. Just had to wave at them and over they came. We also arranged a canal trip to spot crocs the next day, seeing only one baby one but also several monkeys along the way. All in all this place was beyond my expectations. Thank you Roger for all your help in making this one of the best vacation spots yet. I can't wait to go back!

  This was our third time coming to stay at Las Casitas. Each time we arrive we are instantly transported to a peaceful and serene lifestyle. Manfred greets us with fresh baked goods with in a day or two. Sunsets and pool time become our important decisions for the day. Just the feeling of home when we arrive make us smile. From the landscaper, pool guy and maids, we remember everyone and are greeted with a smiling face. Meeting old friend friends and making new ones are some of the things that we look forward to. Pool time or beach time all is good.

  We absolutely loved our stay at Playa Grande Casitas. We spent almost two weeks in one of the apartments and had no complaints whatsoever. The listing is accurate, the photos represent the units well, the property was well-maintained. Roger is quick to respond to email and answer questions and the property manager, Manfred, is accessible and his bread is delicious. The national park is beautiful, the leatherbacks are such a sight, and beach/surf is great, too. It was one of the most relaxing, peaceful vacations we have ever had. Highly recommended.

  We stayed at Playa Grande casitas tree weeks with my sister and our husbands plus their little girl aged of 11. We just fell in love right away with the place. It's beautiful, juste like the pictures, the lawn, the pool, all those comfy chairs, the balcony, EVERYTHING! The employes, Noël (the gardener) and Aido (the pool guy) and the cleaning ladies, they all do a very good job and are very very nice. My sister, her husband and their daughter stayed in the appartment and the two of us had a little studio, so we could shared the big, well equiped kitchen in the appartment. After our three weeks, my sister went back home and me and my husband still had 5 more weeks to spend in Costa Rica. So we travelled during 18 days, and NOWHERE we could find a place like the casitas in Playa Grande. Here, the beach (7 min. walk) is just giant! The sand is perfect, it is quiet (it's a national park), beautiful, safe, the waves are just great, big enough to have fun and not too big like Dominical. There is a little convenient store (5 min. walk) where you can find some things to eat but we really enjoyed to take the taxi-boat (3 min. walk to take it at the Bula Bula hotel) to go to Tamarindo once a week . You bring enough shopping bags and back pack and there, you can find alot more things at a better price. In Tamarindo, there is a supermercado in the city (10-15 min. walk by the beach) or there is another super super super nice mercado when you take the road to your left when you get of the taxi boat, it's 15-18 min. walk on the road. But right at the casitas, the fish guy was comming once or twice a week with fresh fishes and seafood in his truck, a couple who was selling fruits and veggies came too with their truck as well, right in the parking of the casitas! it's fantastic! And just so you know, we did'nt drive a car for tree weeks there! We came from Liberia airport with Tamarindo Shuttle and we just stayed at the casitas, pure moments of relaxation and happiness! Oh, and after 18 days of travelling in expensive and uncomfortable places in Costa Rica, we returned at Playa Grande Casitas for the rest of our trip, three more weeks and it was like going back home! We juste loved it! Oh, and I forgot to tell you: full Wi-Fi!!! Thanks to Roger and Manfred, all I wish is to go back some day, and for sure I will. Excuse my english, I'm french Canadian so... Merci beaucoup, nous avons vécu à Playa Grande casitas des moments que nous allons chérir toute notre vie! If I

  Best value of my life! I usually do a lot of research when im going on vacation to find the best value, and this here is as good as it gets!. Very Clean, spacious, beautifull, secure, on a private residential, well mantain, close to the beach, full kitchen, a pool, security box, balcony. Best ever! and I stayed at the studio...) Tip: Make sure you order some bakery from Manfred, its amazing! PD: The kitchen of the apartment really has everything you need, including wine glasses, tea candles and many appliances.

  We are experiencing serious post trip withdrawal, which means we had a really great time in Costa Rica! Manfred and the casitas are a winning combination. Our group of 4 had a 1 bedroom apartment and a studio, and we were very pleased with both. The value is excellent. The rooms are just as described, if not better. The fresh wood smell is one thing you can not see in the pictures. Clean and comfortable, well equipped, safe, great location... etc. The pool is always sparkling clean and refreshing and the beach is a short walk away. The casitas are in the Palm Beach estates more towards the south end of playa grande which has a less crowded surf break, and is walkable to the main break of playa grande, or even the tamarindo rivermouth. Manfred and his wife are great people and provided instant assistance with anything we needed... not to mention fresh baked bread one morning, and a beautiful dinner on our last night. Can't say enough, we had a wonderful time and would highly recommend!

  We traveled Costa Rica quite a bit during our 3 week vacation. Playa Grande Casitas was one of the the most charming, comfortable and affordable accommodations we found. We stayed in the upper one bedroom apartment and spent most mornings relaxing on the veranda, enjoying our coffee with the Howler Monkeys that frequented the Guanacaste trees. The nice thing about this property is that it is nestled in a national park so there are plenty of birds and wildlife. After travelling to many parts of the country it was a welcome escape from the hustle, bustle and dusty roads of the busier tourism areasm and if you've ever travelled Costa Rica, you'll know how wonderful it is to have a hot shower, clean accommodations and the homey feeling, not offered by hotels. The walk-in shower at Playa Grande Casitas is wonderful! The property owner was extremely helpful with answering our questions and Manfred, the property manager, made us feel very welcome and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. The pool was a delight and always sparkling clean. And the grounds were very well kept and beautifully landscaped. We loved the fact that just a short walk down the dirt road were two quaint little restaurants and a nearby little grocery store so we could get some supplies whenever we needed to, without having to use the car. Besides the security system at the casitas there are security guards from dusk to dawn at Palm Beach Estates, which made us feel very safe, especially heading home at night. We left the interior lights in our vehicle on one night and they came to find us to let us know. I'm so glad we found this property. We'll definitely be returning again next year. Roger

  as Costa Rica we are used to travel around the country visiting many off the beaten path sites, the Casitas at Playa Grande is a favorite of us for its location and conditions. it in perfect balance with the National Park nearby and with the low development high end kind of toursim that Costa Rica needs. the prices are very good attention was excellent.
