Apartment SHERRY is a cozy, intimate hideaway suited for single travelers or couples who are looking for an affordable, centrally-located apartment on Lake Como. It is nicely appointed, with original paintings and frescoes on the ceiling that give you a flavor of a romantic era long ago.
The 17th century villa, which houses the studio apartment, was owned by a contessa who lived here until her death in the 1970's. Located on the gulf of Venus in the charming village of Lenno, the villa sits on a promontory that offers incredible panoramic views of Bellagio, Tremezzo and the Italian alps. The gated property has a large garden where you can relax with the view before you. You can access the garden easily as you walk out of your ground-floor apartment.
Lenno is a perfect home base for travelers. Everything is at your finger tips. Within a 5-minute walk from the apartment, you find restaurants, bars/cafes, food & wine shops, banks, a pharmacy as well as the bus and ferry stops, which enables you to travel leisurely to all points on the lake. Lenno is located at the central part and on the western side of the lake, making it easy to reach other tourist towns such as Bellagio (across the lake), Como (southern tip), Gravedona (northern tip) or Lugano (Switzerland).
After a day of sightseeing, you will find apartment SHERRY and its garden a soothing place to unwind and relax. It's the perfect little hideaway to enjoy and experience Lake Como.

Why the Owner Chose Lenno
You find pretty much everything so you can avoid hopping in and out of a car. The supermarket is a 3-minute walk from us. So is the farmers market, which is set up on Tuesdays on the waterfront. The bank, pharmacy, bar, cafe, restaurants, florist, hardware store - all are within a 5-minute walk. Another reason is that there is a ferry dock, which makes it convenient for our clients to reach us and for them to travel around the lake without a car. And lastly, Lenno is one of the prettiest towns on the lake but, unlike Bellagio, Varenna, Menaggio or Tremezzo, it is less touristy.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio
What I love most is the view. Yes, the views are everywhere. But from our vantage point, it is truly special. At dusk, the shimmering lights from Bellagio, Tremezzo and other towns up on the hills give a magical view of the lake that, after 6 years, I still cherish. The view changes constantly depending on the weather and the season so there's something to look forward to each and every day. A truly awesome experience!
Another thing I love is the fact that we can walk out the door and find everything. We walk to a favorite hang-out, Bar Sport, an outdoor cafe on the waterfront, where we can enjoy aperitivi with friends; leisurely read a book; or have our Sunday morning ritual of cappuccino and brioche (Prosecco for my husband).

My husband and I first visited Lake Como in October 2003, fell in love with it and, within 6 months, we were back for good. We relocated from San Francisco with our cat Lupo. We now organize painting holidays and have been doing so since 2004. We live next door to apartment SHERRY so if you need anything you can simply knock on our door.

As you know, I adored the apartment and found it to be the most charming way to stay in the Lake Como environment. I found that you maintained the beautiful Italian architecture while creating a very warm and comfortable place to relax. I am so pleased we were able to rent the apartment. We felt right at home there and just moved in. Very clean and simple...The shower head needs some work, I wrapped a towel around it, as water shot over the door an onto the floor. I figured out the water heater, was there a note about turning that on. The plug to the refrigerator is near the trash can and we knocked it out, not knocked it up HA, most times we opened the trash can...so we moved the trash can...so handyman Jerry needs to fix the shower head...Great place recommended to all... Transportation worked out fine. There are plenty of options that could be utilized and I think most did use the public transportation.

Casa Sherry is the perfect place to stay for anyone looking to feel at home on the lake. The painted ceiling and generous room size would be hard to match in any hotel. The kitchenette allows for preparing your own meals also which was a nice alternative to dining out everyday.

Comment Text: A very pleasant and convenient accommodation for the week. It is situated on the main floor of the Villa de Herra and steps away from the art studio. Despite its proximity, there is a separate entrance and appropriate privacy and security. The large main room is very clean and inviting with inspiring art and a grand painted ceiling. There are two beds making it suitable for one or two persons. The kitchen and washroom facilities are clean and up-to-date with the added bonus of a washing machine. Conchitina provides ample food and beverages for breakfast and there are several grocery stores within easy walking distance for other needs. Moreover, it is within 2-3 minutes walk of several restaurants, beach and the town center. Use of a MAC laptop computer as well as access to wireless connection for those bringing their own PC's are complimentary. DVDs of a few recent films and numerous books are provided for entertainment. There is no television which I consider a bonus - it forces one to enjoy the true pleasures of this area - the tranquility of a remarkably beautiful setting. I would have no hesitation in staying in this apartment should I return to Lenno - not only for the comfort and convenience but especially for the kind and welcoming nature of the proprietors.

Thank you for a wonderful experience. We loved the studio with all its art work and beautiful ceiling. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome basket of goodies was delicious.
