Welcome to Low Dog Lodge...LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! You will not find a better ski-in ski-out location in Big Sky. Walk out the door, strap on your skis and go ski directly to the Thunderwolf High speed Quad. Low Dog Lodge is a Log Home with four bedrooms, a loft, and three full baths. This home has a warm and rustic Montana decor. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac with lots of privacy and great views of Beehive Basin and Spanish Peaks. It is one of the 'true' Ski In / Ski Out homes in Big Sky. You can walk to the lodge at the base of Big Sky Resort with its restaurants, bars, shops and ski/board rentals. You won't find a better location in Big Sky during the summer or winter. The home is very private so you won't have any problems feeling like your in the middle of the wilderness, yet close to everything..

We have just updated the home to include 3 king guest bedrooms (one with private bath), 1 queen guest bedroom, and 1 bunk room that has two sets of log bunk beds that are extra long to easily accommodate adults. There is also an open loft on the third floor that has a queen sofa bed and a large big screen TV. Let the kids watch the big screen TV in the loft using DirecTV or DVD's or they can play some of the board games we have available. There is also an additional TV and DVD player in the comfortable great room on the main level. For a little romance or warmth, load up the large Montana Mossy rock fireplace in the great room. We are happy to supply logs, because the experience just isn't the same until you get to sit by the fire and talk about the wonderful adventures of the day.

The kitchen features a JennAire range/oven, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The kitchen counter tops are granite and the island bar has seating for four, so you can accommodate even more guests for dinner, or sip on a drink and supervise the cooks in the kitchen before dinner. The large dining room table seats 8 guests and can be extended to seat 10 or more.

After a hard day on the slopes, or a summer afternoon of hiking, river rafting or golf, come back and relax in your own private hot tub that seats 6-8 people comfortably. Located on the ground floor, it has a great view of the valley with no homes in sight.

NEW for the 2013 season - We've just built a brand new heated entry and ski room on the ground floor. It offers a convenient place to store all your gear and suit up every day before stepping outside. We think you'll find it a great addition to home.

In addition to skiing and snow boarding, just head outside to find for some of the best hiking and snow shoeing in Big Sky. You're also only a short drive to some of the best golf and fishing that Montana has to offer. The kids (and adults) will love the great sledding just outside and we offer a couple of sleds in the garage so you can give it a try.

We offer full 24/7 concierge services and will have your refrigerator stocked prior to your arrival upon request, or fax your grocery order directly to the Hungry Moose Market & Deli for delivery prior to your arrival. You also can access the Moonlight or Huntley Lodge Spa's for a fee where you can swim in the heated indoor/outdoor pools, exercise in the gym, enjoy the sauna or have a great massage or facial. Massage therapists will also come to our home.

Review: We chose Low Dog Lodge for our family ski trip of 8 adults and 7 kids, and it completely surpassed all of our expectations. The home is perfectly equipped with everything you could imagine - from bedding to kitchenware to a perfectly suited ski mud room. Everything was in pristine condition, extremely clean, and the mood and decor of the house is ideal for its setting. The house has truly breathtaking views of the mountain, and it is very quiet. We actually hired a photographer to take family pictures, and we did so at the house, because it was an absolutely perfect backdrop. . . some of the photos actually look fake. Our extended family divvied up such that each of the four adult couples had their own room with a queen or king bed, 4 boy cousins shared the bunk room, 2 girl cousins shared the pull-out sofa in the loft, and one 3-year-old slept on a blow-up mattress (that we brought) in his parent's room. The ski in/out access was perfect for intermediate or advanced skiers, but we had a few beginners in our group who were not able to navigate those particular parts of the mountain, so those skiers were driven each day to and from the main base at Big Sky resort. There is a Costco about 5 minutes from the Bozeman airport, so we stopped there to stock up before driving to Big Sky. We were clearly not the first to do so. . . there were multiple bottles of ketchup, mustard, syrup, and other condiments in the fridge and pantry, so we just added to the collection. Overall, Low Dog Lodge was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to any potential vacationers.

Low Dog Lodge is a wonderful, comfortable and clean lodge. It was as promised. Close to the mountain base, ski in and ski out, wonderful views. Our family vacationers included 3 generations ranging in age from 2 1/2 to 64! Ski ability ranging from expert to beginner. Big Sky offers a wide variety of slopes to accommodate all. The lodge was perfect for us. The kitchen/pantry was well stocked. We will definitely be back....

We stayed at this home in Big Sky for 6 nights--it has a well appointed kitchen, big windows overlooking the mountains, truly ski-in and ski-out, and nice furnishings throughout. It felt very private as it is located at the end of Low Dog Road. I would advise having a car although theoretically you can use shuttle services for all of your needs. The hot tub was fantastic--we used it every day and sat under the stars--it is near the lower entrance outside. The owner was great to work with and we had good snow removal for the driveway. I would return!

Great Stay. Low Dog Lodge was a perfect--both rustic and modern. It has all the conveniences--including modern kitchen, large outdoor hottub and heated walk-in ski closet. With 5 large bedrooms and a large great room, it handled our group of 9 comfortably. The location is excellent---at the end of Low Dog Drive, the ski in/out makes it perfect for the skier yet close to the Big Sky Resort restaurants and shops. We highly recommend this lodge.

We had a wonderful vacation at Big Sky and our lodge was a big part of that. We had 2 families with 4 adults and 6 teenagers. We had plenty of room for all. It would be absolutely perfect if the ski-in was a little friendlier. For beginner/intermediate skiers Silver Knife at the end of the day can be a little intimidating. The owners checked on us during our stay to make sure everything was okay with the lodge. Big Sky is a wonderful resort!!!!!

Low Dog Lodge definitely exceeded our expectations – a beautiful home in a gorgeous part of the country! We traveled to Big Sky with eleven people (ages 6 to 70) and it was a fantastic trip for everyone. The accommodations were terrific and it comfortably handled our group. We vacationed in mid-July and it was the perfect time for us to visit from Florida, with warm days and cool nights. We spent our days hiking (with several amazing hikes close to the house), white water rafting on the Gallatin River and travelling a short distance to explore Yellowstone National Park. Most nights we cooked dinner for our large group in the home’s well-equipped kitchen or grilled out on the deck. We spent most evenings relaxing by the fireplace or in the hot tub looking out at the amazing star-filled sky! The owners were so accommodating to our special requests and have the house stocked with many comforts of home. We can’t wait to visit again next year and would highly recommend the Low Dog Lodge to anyone looking for a great vacation get away in Big Sky!

I don't usually write reviews but this one deserves one. AWESOME does not begin to describe our stay in Big Sky and Low Dog Lodge! We were here with family of 14 (adults and kids) for a week and never felt cramped for space nor privacy. Everything about the place and house far exceeds our expectations. The home is very charming, very clean and very well maintained. The kitchen is fully equipped, beds/pillows are comfortable, towels are fluffy, and wifi always connected. There was TV/DVD/board games to keep everyone entertain in the evening. The house sits at the end of the road almost like a cul-de-sac, so the kids were outside playing and we never had to worry about traffic. Beautiful scenery from your deck, where you can enjoy your morning coffee or dinner in the evening. The rental office for excursions/activites is nearby and so are restaurants and shops. The owner was very helpful and prompt in answering all our questions. The packet he provided us prior to our arrival was also very useful. There's plenty to do in the summer, from the activites/excursions nearby to Yellowstone an hour away or enjoying the scenery from your deck, I would highly recommend this home and Montana. We're counting the days when (not if) we'll return to Montana and will definitely stay at Low Dog Lodge again!

I stayed here for four days with my friends and co-workers. If I have to describe my experience in one word, it would be ‘outstanding’. The property is clean and well maintain with all the possible amenities and comfort of a home. The furniture is comfortable and in great condition. If you are planning to stay in a group, you will love this place because it has five spacious bedrooms and due to the layout of the property, you will get all the needed privacy. I also loved the entertainment options they have at the property – 2 big screen TVs, DirecTV, DVD player, Apple TV etc. Moreover, if you like cooking, the property has a fully functional kitchen and large dining area. In terms of location, you cannot go wrong with this place. If you like skiing, you will love this place. You can actually go directly to one of the high-speed trails right from the door of the property. Additionally, all the restaurants, bars, and shops are 5-10 minute walking distance from the property. Did I mention ‘Hot Tub’? We all loved this feature. Every day after a full day of skiing/hiking, we used the hot tub, which is located outside with a beautiful valley view. I would highly recommend this place for your next trip.

About: We share a passion for travel that offers us the opportunity to ski & snowboard all over the world - USA, Japan, Europe, New Zealand, Chile, etc. We love Montana year-round, but think the world class skiing in Big Sky can't be beat! What started out as vacations to Montana in the 90's, turned into making Bozeman home for a few years, before finally deciding to buy a home of our own in Big Sky that we can share with family & friends. We take pride in our home and hope our guests enjoy it enough to come back again and again.

                          Why Mountain Village:
We selected this beautiful log home because of its great ski access, but also because it really has a great Montana feel. It's large enough to accommodate a big group, but cozy enough to really feel like a home. The location at the base of Andesite mountain on a private, dead-end road provides fantastic ski-in & ski-out access. It's only a short walk or drive to all the offerings at the mountain mall complex, but feels very secluded at the same time. Skiing in Big Sky is great since there are no lift lines to speak of and it has the largest acreage of ski-able terrain in the USA. Having a true ski-in/ski-out home is the only way to go with a large family or group that starts and stops their ski day at different times. Less than an hour's drive from either Bozeman or Yellowstone makes it the perfect location for either Summer or Winter activities. We love the home and hope you will too!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of the few log homes on the mountain with great ski-in & ski-out access. Plenty of privacy, yet only a short walk to the restaurants & shopping in the Big Sky Mountain Village. Great views of Beehive Canyon off the large wrap-around deck or from the outdoor hot tub (great after a hard day of skiing!). In the summer, you'll be able to see plenty of animals including bears, moose, deer and elk right around the home.
