Welcome to Low Dog Lodge...LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! You will not find a better ski-in ski-out location in Big Sky. Walk out the door, strap on your skis and go ski directly to the Thunderwolf High speed Quad. Low Dog Lodge is a Log Home with four bedrooms, a loft, and three full baths. This home has a warm and rustic Montana decor. It is located at the end of a cul-de-sac with lots of privacy and great views of Beehive Basin and Spanish Peaks. It is one of the 'true' Ski In / Ski Out homes in Big Sky. You can walk to the lodge at the base of Big Sky Resort with its restaurants, bars, shops and ski/board rentals. You won't find a better location in Big Sky during the summer or winter. The home is very private so you won't have any problems feeling like your in the middle of the wilderness, yet close to everything..
We have just updated the home to include 3 king guest bedrooms (one with private bath), 1 queen guest bedroom, and 1 bunk room that has two sets of log bunk beds that are extra long to easily accommodate adults. There is also an open loft on the third floor that has a queen sofa bed and a large big screen TV. Let the kids watch the big screen TV in the loft using DirecTV or DVD's or they can play some of the board games we have available. There is also an additional TV and DVD player in the comfortable great room on the main level. For a little romance or warmth, load up the large Montana Mossy rock fireplace in the great room. We are happy to supply logs, because the experience just isn't the same until you get to sit by the fire and talk about the wonderful adventures of the day.
The kitchen features a JennAire range/oven, dishwasher, microwave and refrigerator. The kitchen counter tops are granite and the island bar has seating for four, so you can accommodate even more guests for dinner, or sip on a drink and supervise the cooks in the kitchen before dinner. The large dining room table seats 8 guests and can be extended to seat 10 or more.
After a hard day on the slopes, or a summer afternoon of hiking, river rafting or golf, come back and relax in your own private hot tub that seats 6-8 people comfortably. Located on the ground floor, it has a great view of the valley with no homes in sight.
NEW for the 2013 season - We've just built a brand new heated entry and ski room on the ground floor. It offers a convenient place to store all your gear and suit up every day before stepping outside. We think you'll find it a great addition to home.
In addition to skiing and snow boarding, just head outside to find for some of the best hiking and snow shoeing in Big Sky. You're also only a short drive to some of the best golf and fishing that Montana has to offer. The kids (and adults) will love the great sledding just outside and we offer a couple of sleds in the garage so you can give it a try.
We offer full 24/7 concierge services and will have your refrigerator stocked prior to your arrival upon request, or fax your grocery order directly to the Hungry Moose Market & Deli for delivery prior to your arrival. You also can access the Moonlight or Huntley Lodge Spa's for a fee where you can swim in the heated indoor/outdoor pools, exercise in the gym, enjoy the sauna or have a great massage or facial. Massage therapists will also come to our home.

I stayed here for four days with my friends and co-workers. If I have to describe my experience in one word, it would be ‘outstanding’. The property is clean and well maintain with all the possible amenities and comfort of a home. The furniture is comfortable and in great condition. If you are planning to stay in a group, you will love this place because it has five spacious bedrooms and due to the layout of the property, you will get all the needed privacy. I also loved the entertainment options they have at the property – 2 big screen TVs, DirecTV, DVD player, Apple TV etc. Moreover, if you like cooking, the property has a fully functional kitchen and large dining area. In terms of location, you cannot go wrong with this place. If you like skiing, you will love this place. You can actually go directly to one of the high-speed trails right from the door of the property. Additionally, all the restaurants, bars, and shops are 5-10 minute walking distance from the property. Did I mention ‘Hot Tub’? We all loved this feature. Every day after a full day of skiing/hiking, we used the hot tub, which is located outside with a beautiful valley view. I would highly recommend this place for your next trip.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We had a group of 12 for an event at Big Sky. This was a wonderful home. The couples had bedrooms, the singles had the bunk room and loft. The kitchen had everything we needed for our group meals and the few extras in the pantry was a nice bonus. It was a great location so we could ski to the lifts, and ski back to the house. Plus the evening we stayed in the base area, it was still a short stumbling walk back to the house. ;-) Having the owners check in with us upon our arrival was a lovely touch. We would definitely return!!!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.

This house has everything...a full kitchen, lots of room, a great fireplace, a roomy spa...and the best bed we have slept in. Its proximity to the ski resort (ski in/ski out) makes the whole experience a piece of cake as well. And the skiing is without compare...we have a new favorite ski resort. We only wish we could have stayed longer!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Great 5-days at Big Sky and The Low Dog Lodge. First trip to Big Sky and exceeded expectations. Low Dog is ideally located for easy ski-in/ski-out access. All the amenities to make the stay relaxing and enjoyable. Ski storage room leaves clothes, hats, gloves warm and dry to start each day. Kids loved the loft TV area, Apple TV and WiFi access. Everyone (adults and kids) enjoyed the hot tub at the end of a long day of skiing. The house is well laid out to accommodate large groups (we had 8 adults +5 kids) without feeling crowded. Well stocked kitchen, bathrooms and a lot of little details you appreciate versus other rentals made Low Dog really stand out. Highly recommend Low Dog Lodge and Big Sky.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers.

My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful and cozy home with eight other friends and coworkers. The home was just what you would expect nestled in the mountains of Big Sky. It felt like we were on top of the world. There was plenty of room and private space for all 10 of us and the common areas were perfect for cooking meals and hanging out together. The soft sheets, fluffy towels, hot tub, ski room, and ski-in ski-out access were unexpected little luxuries. Perfect spot for adventurous skiers, hikers, or if you just want to relax and look at the amazing views from the balcony.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

I recently had the pleasure to visit Big Sky and stay at the Low Dog Lodge. I can say the setting was majestic, the amenities were amazing and the convenience - OUT OF THIS WORLD! We were there a total of three days and got to experience the best of Big Sky. I was with a group of nine individuals all with different interests and each person left asking, when are we coming back? The Low Dog Lodge provided all the amenties you desire, was extremely spacious/clean and provided breathtaking views. If you ever get a chance to experience Big Sky during any season make sure you stay at Low Dog Lodge, you won't be dissapointed.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our family of four (kids 8 and 4) had its best vacation ever at the Low Dog Lodge. It was the perfect place to accommodate three families meeting from three different states. The place is huge (5 bedrooms), with ample room for kids to and adults. The well-equipped kitchen made sure the loads of groceries we had bought enroute at Albertsons disappear. It didn't hurt that we had a gourmet or two in the group to made sure we had plenty of energy for skiing. Those who were able could ski in and out of the lodge, and for the beginners it was an easy 3 minute drive to drop then at the lift/ski school. And aside from the fantastic skiing, the springtime long days provided the perfect way to relax afterwards. From soaking in the hot tub, to relaxing with a movie, to watching the kids build sled runs...we were able to make the most of our vacation. Thanks Low Dog Lodge!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

One word..PERFECT.. There was more than enough space for everyone to have some privacy and downtime if needed. Easy walk to base camp or ski out of the house. House is clean, warm and welcoming. The owner is personable making sure we had everything we needed. A great vacation spot and lovely home. Can't wait to go back!!! No regrets here. Low Dog Lodge is just fantastic. The layout of the lodge is extremely intelligent and soaks up a large group of people. It's rustic, sophisticated furnishings are comfortable and charming. The lodge is well-stocked with all the things you need to prepare meals for large groups as well as cater to apres-ski activities. Very comfortable beds and bedding, excellent heat throughout and a very efficient Franklin fireplace which warms the main and upper floors. The Jacuzzi has a lovely view of the sunrise in the morning. The ski-in/out is convenient to some of the best runs on the mountain. What a special place!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Great mountain home...perfect location...ski in/out was great (easy way home was easy and the back way was a lot of fun for those who took on the challenge) I could spend time telling folks how great the room layout was, how clean the place was, the fireplace, bed's, hottub etc...instead I will comment on the personal care the owners took during the whole experience....being new to VRBO we were unsure of what to expect....this was great The owners of the home had followed up prior to our arrival with loads of useful information, we got a call on our first day to make sure all was to our liking and the follow up communication was also appreciated...very good on site support from the local staff also. The place was perfect for our 13 people, lots of space, great ski equipment drying room on lower access level... If you are looking for a great "ski in/out" quiet spot in the mountains yet close to base area (we walked it twice in the evenings), LowDog is highly recommended.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, sightseeing.

About: We share a passion for travel that offers us the opportunity to ski & snowboard all over the world - USA, Japan, Europe, New Zealand, Chile, etc. We love Montana year-round, but think the world class skiing in Big Sky can't be beat! What started out as vacations to Montana in the 90's, turned into making Bozeman home for a few years, before finally deciding to buy a home of our own in Big Sky that we can share with family & friends. We take pride in our home and hope our guests enjoy it enough to come back again and again.
Why Mountain Village:
We selected this beautiful log home because of its great ski access, but also because it really has a great Montana feel. It's large enough to accommodate a big group, but cozy enough to really feel like a home. The location at the base of Andesite mountain on a private, dead-end road provides fantastic ski-in & ski-out access. It's only a short walk or drive to all the offerings at the mountain mall complex, but feels very secluded at the same time.
Skiing in Big Sky is great since there are no lift lines to speak of and it has the largest acreage of ski-able terrain in the USA. Having a true ski-in/ski-out home is the only way to go with a large family or group that starts and stops their ski day at different times. Less than an hour's drive from either Bozeman or Yellowstone makes it the perfect location for either Summer or Winter activities. We love the home and hope you will too!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
One of the few log homes on the mountain with great ski-in & ski-out access. Plenty of privacy, yet only a short walk to the restaurants & shopping in the Big Sky Mountain Village. Great views of Beehive Canyon off the large wrap-around deck or from the outdoor hot tub (great after a hard day of skiing!). In the summer, you'll be able to see plenty of animals including bears, moose, deer and elk right around the home.
