Casa Tortuga enjoys the privacy of it's own 1/2 acre lot, the security of a gated community and the serenity of flowering gardens and mature tropical hardwoods. There is a typical palm roof 'rancho' (gazebo) with hammocks and private swimming pool which you may find hard to get out of to make the short two-minute walk to the beautiful white sand beaches and 80+ degree year round warm water that makes Santa Teresa such a wonderful place.
The house is conveniently located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the exclusive north end, about one half-mile south of the world-famous Flor Blanca Hotel and roughly one mile north of the many shops and restaurants in the bohemian surf town of Santa Teresa.
The house is as comfortable as it is functional, and reflects the casual elegance of Costa Rican living. The breezy open social side of the house offers three double sliders to the pool area. A large kitchen with an eat-up counter top bar, a comfortable living room and 2 day beds. Both areas overlook the palm roof terrace, swimming pool, and are surrounded by vibrant tropical gardens.
Down the hall from the social area is the first floor master bedroom suite, which offers a king bed, separate A/C, ample closet space, a large private bathroom and a two double sliders to the outdoor gazebo and pool area. Upstairs the second master bedroom suite with a king size bed and a queen size bed, A/C, large bathroom. The upstairs balconies enjoy scenic mountain and ocean views.
The lush & abundant gardens include a wide variety of mature tropical hardwoods, coconuts, various palms, bananas, papayas, lemons & guava trees, plumerias, & flowering tropical plants such as hibiscus, jasmine, heliconias, bromelias and much more. Monkeys, iguanas, paroquets are just a few of the creatures you may see & hear right from your terrace.
Private parking for two vehicles, utilities and maid service included. So come, relax, and enjoy the beach, the picturesque sunsets, and all the natural beauty that makes Casa Tortuga in Santa Teresa a truly amazing place.

"Home away from home" is what we can say about our stay in CASA TORTUGA. Amazing house, her owner cares about every detail; 30 mts away from the beach, 5 minutes walking distance from a great surf point; nice pool, beautiful garden with a great gallery , comfortable rooms, bathrooms, full kitchen, everything we needed, was there !!!!! Hope we will return soon PURA VIDA!!!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

My family with young kids and some of our friends stayed for a week at Casa Tortuga, and we can't say enough great things about it! We will definitely recommend this rental to people we know. The house is modern, spacious, well-maintained, well-ventilated, and well-stocked with all the essentials we needed, which is something you don't always find in the area, as can attest our friends who stayed in other rental houses of equal or greater price-range in Santa Teresa. It is very clean to anyone's high standards. The owner, Nicole, did a fantastic job to ensure we had all the amenities and information we needed to settle in quickly. The house is designed in such a way that it is ideal for groups, with private bathrooms plus an open-concept living room, porch, and kitchen area that invite good times with family and friends in a tropical place. We loved the pool and adjacent hammock area....they were the perfect places to hang out during the middle of the day with our kids to watch the occasional visit from howler monkeys and iguanas in the trees and enjoy the surrounding lush vegetation when we wanted a break from the sand and surf. The beach is friendly for kids...safe, with great sand and a beach break that lets anyone from age 0-100 enjoy the water in the way they want (wading, swimming, surfing etc.). It was handy having a well-stocked grocery store (that also sells liquor) a quick walk down the street in addition to all the many small restaurants in Santa Teresa. We hope to come again and stay at Casa Tortuga!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Casa Tortuga is one of the best places I've ever stayed. It's 100 metres away from consistent peeling beach break that's not over-crowded and has an awesome vibe in the water. It's got nice shade for the hot afternoons, the house is super clean and has all the amenities of a modern pad. It's really quiet and safe, perfect for families or anyone looking for a nice intimate get away. Esta buy bien!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I loved to stay at this house, perfect location, quiet, great accommodations, a place to stay, relax, enjoy nature, rest...., a dream!! The house has everything you need,the bedrooms are big with comfortable beds and big bathrooms.It is quiet at night with a great view to the backyard with all the amazing nature you have there, trees, birds singing, ocean's sound. It has a swimming pool, just to be there and relax after a walk at the beach, it was clean and nice. The house has hammocks out side where you can rest, I just loved that!! Big living room, perfect to share time with friends and family. The beach is right there, just 3 minutes walking and you have this wonderful ocean view, wild and at the same time perfect for your senses. It is a place where you can feel safe, private entrance, security is a plus for this beauliful house. Big kitchen with all the equipment you need. We walked at the beach at night and saw two Baula turtles, it was amazing a unique experience! You also have a lot of places to go out close from the house.It was more than I I expected!! everything was perfect!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family of seven recently stayed at the casa tortuga for 3 nights. This include 5 adults a 7 year old, and a 2 year old. The home and its owner Nicole were AMAZING! The home was remarkably clean and tidy. There was ample room for the seven of us and we did not even use all of the beds in the house. The kitchen and indoor and outdoor living space were all perfect and you really felt like you were at home. Nicole came to meet us the 2nd day and what an amazing woman she was. She was extremely friendly and very helpful with information about restaurants and travel ideas. A short walk down a beach path leads to miles of endless white sand beaches, many times we were the only family on the beach along with a few surfers in the water. The small pool was perfect for cooling off and small children. We grilled some fresh red snapper bought from the fish market in Mal Pais that was amazing. This place is a surfers paradise, but even if you do not surf it is a great spot on the Cost Rica tour for a family to stay and feel like they are safe and at home. Pura Vida!!! Nicole Rocks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children.

excelent spot, nice and clean house, really close to the beach, good waves. is perfect for families. beautiful surroundings. we really enjoyed grilled red snapper we made for lunch, for sure we will returned. see u summer!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We recently spent a week at Casa Tortuga and my only regret is that we hadn't stayed longer. The house provide a very tranquil and relaxing atmosphere. The surrounding natural beauty and close proximity to the ocean/pool is enough to take your mind off the Santa Teresa's heat. The property is really clean and well-maintained. The owner (Nicole) makes you feel at home immediately, and is a great help if advice is needed for activities, restaurants, massages, surf lessons, etc. Overall, if you are looking for a quiet, serene getaway, this is the place for you. We will definitely be back again...Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Casa Tortuga was the best part of visit to Costa Rica. The owner, Nicole, is amazing, friendly and full of information. The beautiful path will take you to an amazing beach with gorgeous sunsets. My wife and I along with three friends rented Casa Tortuga in February. We had the best time ever! The grounds and amenities are top notch and Nicole was a real pleasure to decal with. We are already planning our next trip. This was our fourth year staying in Santa Teresa and it was our favorite place so far. So close to the beach and within walking distance to many great restaurants and grocery stores. I would highly recommend Casa Tortuga to anyone looking for the perfect get away. I just returned from a week stay at Casa Tortuga for the second time and it was just as fantastic as the first time I stayed there. The house is still awesome, all the appliances including A/C's, coffee makers, etc.. work.It is also clean and neat. Best of all it is on the beach. Three of us stayed there on this vacation (2 for the first time) and we all agree this is one of the best rental properties in Santa Teresa with one of the best locations on the North end of Santa Teresa. I have looked at other lodging options in Mal Pais and Santa Teresa and I still think Casa Tortuga is one of the prime rental homes. Nicole is a great owner and person and Juan the manager/concierge was also very helpful. Surfing right out the back is great, and there are numerous restaurants nearby. Also a small supermarket within walking distance. Cannot wait to go back for the third time--hopefully soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
