This beautiful million dollar home is located at the end of Plum Island across the street from the famous Plum Island lighthouse, and boasts the best 360 degree views on the island from its roof top deck. Watch the wonderful parade of sailboats go by, the wonderful sunsets over the Joppa Flats, or the moon rise out of the ocean all from either the living room with a cozy fire or from either of the two decks.
This oceanfront home has easy access to a beautiful wooden walkway out to the beach and is within 100 feet of a wonderful playground for children. The home has two/three bedrooms, a full kitchen, and three bathrooms with two showers and bath. The home¡¦s location is ideal for weddings, honeymooners, families with young children, two families vacationing together, or groups looking to take in the incredible wildlife and fishing the island have to offer.
For the convenience of our guests, we have also provided high-speed wireless internet and free long distance calls within the US on our wireless internet telephones. For outside activities, we have provided fishing poles and an outdoor shower, and are within a few hundred feet from the docks of the daily charter boats available to the public.
The famous wildlife refuge is at the end of the island and is a haven for bird watchers, cyclists, and families seeking unspoiled beaches for swimming and tide pooling. The city of Newburyport, full of old world architectural charm, and modern stores and restaurants, is a five minute drive away. There are numerous summer happenings in town, with outdoor evening concerts, theater, movies, and other fun events.
Most notable is the annual Yankee Homecoming Festival which runs at the end of July - beginning of August. Hiking, biking, fishing, wildlife viewing, shopping, restaurants, cinemas, sightseeing, swimming, boating, sailing, surfing, windsurfing. Outlets in Kittery are a 45 minute drive. Buses to Boston available in Newburyport. This island is a great location for families wanting to travel to a pleasant beach area, without all the tourists.

We stayed here in August of 2010 and found that the description and the photos were not accurate. We had no idea that the only Grill was on the roof up one set of stairs and then a set of spiral stairs that made it impossible to carry food, plates etc. up. The grill was out of gas and really dirty and when we contacted the owner she was not very helpful at all. The kitchen was very poorly equipped - We had to go buy bowls to serve salad and other foods out of. The outside shower didn't work and the owner didn't really have a clue about that. Generally, the place was poorly maintained. There was a dead bird in the weird pond in the over grown yard. I would not recommend this property to friends or family or any one with young children!

An incredible home that is perfectly located at the end of the island with simply the best views we have seen while staying there. The home was perfect for us to relax and would highly recommend for a wedding or retreat as it is simply a gem. We also loved the light house next door and the pier only a few yards away and watching all of the sailboats slowly passing by in the endless parade from the couch or on the decks. The owner was an great person to deal with and helped us make plans for other things during our stay and wanted nothing in return. Great family and highly recommend.

A truly incredible experience and wonderful home. Would highly recommend to anyone that is considering a stay in Plum Island to visit this home, would not be disappointed. The owner is a great person to deal with as they own the home and rent themselves. Two thumbs up. TM
