Location: Galiano Island, The Islands, British Columbia, Canada (5 minute ride from the BC Ferries dock at Sturdies Bay.)
Accommodations: House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths (Sleeps 6)
Our Galiano Island home is two stories ( 3 bedrooms and two bathroms are on the top floor) sitting on one and-one-half acres of waterfront property. We overlook Active Pass which is the water throughway between the many Gulf Islands to Victoria and Vancouver.
A short 55-minute ferry ride takes you to the mainland near Vancouver. If you would like to spend the day in Victoria the ferry takes about 90 minutes- depending on how many stops it makes at the other islands.
Three bedrooms and two bathrooms are located on the top floor - all the bedrooms have a view of the ocean. The master bedroom has its own deck.
The downstairs is an open plan consisting of a living room, kitchen and dining room ,all with a view of Active Pass where one can see an abundance of marine life including killer whales (orcas), seals, otters,eagles and seabirds. Various boats of all shapes and sizes go through Active Pass on a regular basis as well.
The gourmet kitchen is well equipped with granite counters and modern appliances. A three-piece bathroom with shower as well as laundry room and media room completes the downstairs floor plan-there is a pull out sofa if needed in the den (media room). A fitness centre with walker, weights, elliptical, and exercise bike are available for adult use.
A large deck completely surrounds the house with a hot tub overlooking the ocean. Two sets of lawn furniture on the decks are included as well as a large picnic table (seats 8) for outdoor eating.
