The condo was exactly as pictured and as stated. It was clean upon our arrival with a fresh vase of flowers on the table. We did have a problem with a hole in the airbed, but one email to Jeff and he had his housekeeper bring us a brand new one. We did have a few bugs(roaches) on the countertops and floor, but hard to avoid that in a tropical climate. We did see some ant/roach traps placed here and there, so they seem to be proactive with the bug control. Having a rental car was very helpful, as finding places to eat at dinner time was challenging and expensive. Did not feel real safe being out at night in Red Hook, although there seemed to be some security people around. We went to Charlotte Amalle and Tutu for dinner a few nights. Driving was challenging as roads and streets are not marked as well as the states, and driving on the left side of the road was interesting to say the least. The local drivers were nice though, and would often stop and let you into traffic. The grounds were a little run down as stated in previous reviews, and could use a major spruce up. It would have been nice to have the tiki bar open at the pool. The free rental of snorkel gear and beach chairs was real nice. We saw thousands of fish on the coral, and stingrays in the sandy areas daily. Beach was never overcrowded, even when cruise ships were in port. Places to eat: Red Hook we went to Molly Malones(good, open air) Pesce(good but very expensive and formal) Amigos(good). Plan on spending at least $100 a night for a family of 4.(that is with kids ordering off kids menu too) Charlotte Amalle we went to The Green House(nice with good atmosphere and open air dining on the bay). Go to Tutu K-Mart for most food items. Much cheaper than Food market a mile or so out of Red Hook. We took the car ferry over to St John one day and that was a nice day. We went to trunk bay beach(awesome) and shopping at the local stores. Go get a fresh fruit smoothee from Thomas in downtown St John. We also went to Coral World a mile or two east of the condo. Great for kids.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The condominium unit was very clean and well maintained. The property itself is in fairy good shape. Was nice and quiet at night. The beach was beautiful. My main complaint was how crazy the beach was when the cruise ships were in port. That would be my main complaint about St. Thomas in general. Definitely need a car to get around, taxis are expensive. The owner of this condo is very pleasant, informative, and accommodating.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

Our stay was wonderful. Beautiful views, well maintained, close to town and ferry to St. John (we did alot of hiking there during the week). Also, having the rental car included was very convenient. The adjacent marina was great because we were able to just walk over and take a day trip to the British Virgin Islands. We enjoyed the flexibility of staying in a condo rather than at a resort. The owners were very helpful and responsive to our questions. We would highly recommend for those who know what they want to do when they visit the Virgin Islands.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

We have a glowing report about our week long stay in these condos. Jeff and Kelly have provided everything and anything to make the vacation a dream. The decorating and updated facilities are superb, the view from the balcony is magificent, and the entire ambience of these two condos is unreal! We celebrated our 60th wedding anniversay at Sapphire Beach, and we cannot say enough about the beauty, tranquility, and the activities. Everything is right on the premises for a funfilled, action packed, supreme vacation. We will be back to once again have the thrill of living in Jeff's two condos. Everything was as listed on the internet sie, and even better!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a fantastic time. The view is absolutely beautiful...sunrise in particularly. Property was clean and well maintained. Owner very helpful with any questions we had. Easy access to the ferry to St.John's. Wish there was a workout facility on the property or one close by. We would recommend Pesce's downtown RedHook for dinner or for outside dining Sunset Grill at Secret Harbour..both were outstanding! We hope to come back soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Upon arrival we were very impressed with how the condo was so clean and had many updates done to it. We walked the beach with stunning views. The beach was very clean and not at all crowded. The dive shop had snacks and beverages as well as gear for snorkeling and chairs. The pools were clean, the staff polite and helpful. We were close to all attractions within a 20 minute drive or less in any direction. We had a rental car and put on 333 miles between the islands of St Thomas and St John. We checked out other resorts as well while we visited and were very happy we chose to Stay at Paradise at the Beach as it was less crowded had great snorkeling and overall was quieter than other resorts which had a lot of traffic. We were introduced to a Jeweler that was absolutely straight forward and honest and went back to buy from him three times. The restaurants in Red Hook and nightlife were close by and the shopping in Charlotte Amalie was a lot of fun as well as the shops at Mountain Top. We went to Iggies for carnival night. I proposed at Mims Seaside Bistro and she said yes! Our favorite beaches on St John were cinnamon bay and trunk bay. We also went horseback riding at Coral Bay. We did a jet boat excursion from Crown Bay on St Thomas. All the islanders were very friendly and helpful in directing you. We spent our day time in Charlotte Amalie and the beaches and spent our night time at redhook and the resorts. Overall the best beaches on St Thomas were Sapphire, Magens and Lindquist. Coki beach was over crowded and dirty. The food was excellent everywhere we went and the staff at Mims made our engagement by taking photos and giving us excellence in service. I would definitely reccomend this stay to anyone looking for a beautiful stay where you dont have to be crowded yet are close enough to all the attractions you could want to do. I also reccomend renting a vehicle to see the sites unless you are comfortable staying at your resort. The cabs are costly if you run like we did. It took a little time getting used to driving on the left and the islanders way of driving but once I got the hang of it (third day) we had a blast and would come back again. Leaving to come home was the hardest part of our trip having to go back to reality and leave paradise behind. Hope to visit again soon. Thought about calling in sick to work trapped in Paradise and staying longer. We only wished the time didnt go so fast.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was the first time we used VRBO and have been very pleased with the experience. Jeff and Kelli's condo was as presented. The unit was clean, comfortable and the views are stunning, overlooking both the pool area and the beach. The condo was stocked with everything we needed for the kitchen and plenty of extra beach towels (and, we put to good use the cooler!) For those of you reading mixed reviews on this resort and are hesitant to stay here let us share some detail. Yes, some of the resort area is tired, the area near the pool, the restaurant/bar area is boarded up, however, the pool area itself is very nice and clean. We noted the pool being cleaned daily. Security is consistent ensuring only registered guests are present. The beach area was clean and easily accessible. We found the Dive Shop staff helpful. It was easy to obtain pool/beach noodles to float on, beach lounge chairs and snorkle gear. The entrance to the overall resort was well secured. The resort common area is frankly the worst area of the entire place, and, we did find that the budget rental car staff was not very knowledgable, helpful or consistent. We didn't realize that the Budget Rent a Car at the airport does not open until 7am so note the time in which you need to return your car to check it back in. Red Hook is close. Please note, things are very expensive here. If you feel you want to do some cooking consider bringing your favorite spices, and some basics; TP, extra roll of paper towels, napkins. A couple of sleeves of bagels and a couple of bags of chips will save you about $20. and a four pack of TP will save you about $8. Also, if inclined to do so, you can purchase fresh fish from the fishing boats at the marina (very close, walking distance) for very reasonable prices (and, it gets no fresher!). We purchased Mahi Mahi and it was incredible! Oh, and fuel, $5 a gallon (this was not so bad for us, however, several folks were very surprised by it. Also loved that car/person ferry to St. John was a mile away. Overall, we had an amazing time and plan to return. Jeff was great to work with, very responsive and from what we understand, his prices are a very good deal, particularly with the car included.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I just returned from Paradise on the Beach and it was a wonderful experience. You could not ask for more as you sat out on the balcony in the morning watching the sun come up over St. Johns or sit at the beautiful, pristine beach. We drove to other beaches and resorts in St Thomas, and we felt that Sapphire Beach resort had the best beach in St. Thomas. Jeff and Kellie's condo was wonderful as we were located on the beach, midway to the dive shop area and pool. The condo itself was very comfortable and well equipped for the week with beach towels, a cooler and beach chairs from the dive shop. The Marina Market in Red Hook is 5 minutes away or the Food Center is few minutes from Red Hook to go shopping for your breakfast, lunch or dinner. We ventured out each night to try the local fare. The best place we would highly recommendf for dinner is the Old Stone House. You should make reservation for dinner and we felt one of the best places on the island for dinner. Sapphire Beach Resort is a very safe resort, with everyone being friendly and helpful. Also, great drinks at the Bannana Bar next to our unit. They have beach service so you can sit at the beach with a refreshing tropical drink...what more can you ask for. Will definately return to Paradise on the Beach as Jeff and Kellie could not have been nicer throughout the rental process.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers.
