The Pound House offers luxury cottage holiday accomodation for visitors wishing to experience the best of County Kerry, Ireland. It is a delightful farmhouse recently renovated to a luxurious standard using reclaimed timber woodwork and distinctive architectural details. Three of the five bedrooms are en suite, and the fourth bath is a "wet room". The sitting room has two working fireplaces, while the dining room has a charming, antique Belgian stove. There is a balcony off the master suite from which to enjoy the mountain views.
Nestled in the heart of the Caha Mountains, the Pound House is surrounded by over an acre of landscaped gardens with a patio and a lovely stream running through the property. Immediately behind the property is the stone circle or "pound" where herders rested their animals on their way to market. The house is located on the breathtaking and unspoiled Beara Peninsula, just off the rugged Ring of Beara and near the Ring of Kerry. It is a short distance from the sea, with many beaches very nearby. The towns of Bantry and Killarney are also within easy reach.
The Pound House provides a wonderful base for exploring Kerry and West Cork for visitors of all ages. It is both equipped for children and fully wheelchair accessible. |
