A New York loft in the Bahamas with privacy plus..the sea of Abaco steps away with Gillam Bay, (The Atlantic Ocean ), just a few more steps down the path for great shelling , mile long lovely beach walks or sunning & swimming in unbelievably clear turquoise waters.
The sun coming up thru' the huge double sliding front windows, the stars to watch as you go to sleep..40 different palms in the acre of yard of a home owned by a stained glass artist with her art work on the walls. Many books,CD's,and direct TV for the off hours. This is a picturesque, small, wonderful and safe community,very boater and water oriented.
A historical museum, owned by a local famous Bahamian artist , is in the town of New Plymouth, a short walk away..also several good food stores , gift shopping and camera opportunity....
... perhaps meet the artist at his gallery just down the street.(he is in residence thru' may, 08.)... One of the best ( award winning) dive masters in Abaco (get certified here) and several off- shore fishing guides to choose from. Deep sea, reef and bone fishing just outside the door.
The fully tiled house is beautifully furnished; Temperpedic custom king bed, king size in the loft, guest room with 2 twins, full gourmet kitchen, double bathroom and excelled housekeeper to help ease you into the relaxed time you need. A full-width screened -in patio with swinging chairs and lounges to watch the moon or sun come up, have breakfast or pass the time reading or bird watching (herons feed just offshore of the property) until you feel like moving again ...to dinner or a club close by.
it is a good idea to book early for holiday...i.e. thanksgiving, christmas week and new years ( "junkanoo" parade is jan. 1 and people arrive from other cays to see this wonderful event.)
