This two bedroom, two bath Condo is located in the Kana'i A Nalu (Quiet Surf) complex in Ma'alaea Village located on Ma'alaea Beach near the end of 1/3 mile long Hauoli ("Happy") Street. The central location of Ma'alaea allows one to experience the entire island with convenience. Ma'alaea is located on the dry side of the island about 10 miles from the airport, near the junctions of Highways 30, 310 and 380.
Due to it's unique location, Ma'alaea is the most central vacation spots on the Island. At the same time, it is very quiet, with its Harbor close to, but off, the main highway. Hauoli Street, a dead end road, serves the 10 condominium complexes that make up Ma'alaea. The Ma'alaea Triangle is home of the new Maui Ocean Center, the Maui Golf and Sports Park, and a shopping center featuring shops and restaurants.
Ma'alaea Beach, also known as Sugar Beach, is the longest beach on the Island. It starts at Kana'i A Nalu and stretches five miles into Kihei. The three miles closest to the complex front the Kealia Wildlife Preserve and will never be developed. This means the beach is very private; often you can walk on it for a mile without meeting anyone. Reefs in front of the beach provide protection and good snorkeling.
During the winter months the area is a haven for whales and their young, with as many as 10 in front of the complex at once. Unit #309 offers direct ocean views to view whales from the living room and lanai. Additionally, unit #309 offers a direct view of Molokini Crater (one of the world's best snorkeling and scuba diving destinations). When the surf is up, expert surfers ride the Ma'alaea Freight Train, reputed to be the world's fastest rideable wave.
