Location: Chiusi, Tuscany, Italy, Europe (1hour north of Rome & 1hour south of Florence - 5 min off A1)

Situated near the shores of a small lake and adjacent to a World Wildlife Federation protected area, this villa provides a wonderful spot for nature enthusiasts and those looking for the serenity found in nature.

Though completely private and easily accessible, the villa is ideally located less than 10 minutes from the ancient village of Chiusi where you will find great restaurants, shopping, groceries, the entrance to the A1 Autostrada, and the fast train to both Rome and Florence (about an hour to each). In addition to Rome and Florence, you are also within an hour of most destinations in Tuscany including Siena, Montalcino, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, Cortona (Under the Tuscan Sun) and many destinations in Umbria such as Perugia, Assisi and Deruta (famous for Italian ceramics).

The villa itself has been renovated into a comfortable living space with 3 spacious bedrooms and 3 modern baths. The living room has a great stone fireplace for gathering in the evenings and the large eat in kitchen has been updated with most creature comforts including a Range, Oven, full size Refrigerator, Toaster, American Coffee Maker, Pans, Dishes and Cutlery - in short, everything that you will need to prepare delicious Tuscan meals in the comfort of your own home. And, if you prefer, there are also several outside tables available for dining al fresco.

The villa also has ample grounds and a special tower constructed for birdwatching. There are washing facilities and a BBQ for guests’ use and a spectacular pool overlooking the lake and meadow.

  • Casale al Lago provided one of the most wonderful vacations our family has taken. The setting is lovely and quiet and yet provides easy day trip access to a number of nearby cities and hill towns including Florence and Siena. Beautiful song birds provided our morning wake up call, and we ended our day with dining al fresco in and a swim in the pool. The setting is very private and yet offers lovely views across the nearby wheat and sunflower fields. The house is beautifully restored and decorated. And Carlo and Lorella provide wonderful touring and dining advice. Linda provided excellent introductory information. We couldn't recommend Casale al Lago more strongly.

  • This is such an incredible property!! Carlo and Lorrella treat everyone in such a helpful and energetic way!!! The location is perfect for exploring all of Tuscany. Easy access to Rome and Florence by train from town.. Carlo and Lorrella will help you with trip suggestions and must sees that are not in the book!!! Enjoy..
